Default facebook app notifications

So for about 1-2 weeks, every time i try to refresh to see my notifications using the facebook app, it says the following:

"Cannot retrieve the notifications. Please try again later. [601/Parser error: unexpected '-' at position 57.]"

Does anyone know how I can fix this? Notifications work fine when using facebook with the browser but not with the app. Very annoying.

I get the same error. I assume the only way it can be corrected is if the app is updated.

its only nice if you're checking the news feed.

You cant check the inbox, you can't comment on pictures, and if you get a status notification or something similar, it takes you to a browser to reply.

iPhone/iTouch facebook version is what Android facebook needs to be. because with those you can do everything the same way as in browser

Well guys, I have a question, at the risk of getting yelled at that it's been posted somewhere already lol. Instead of starting a new thread, figured I'd ask in here... I came from a Blackberry, and on my BB, when I had the Facebook App installed, notifications would automatically pop up on the application instead of my email... NOW with the Facebook App for Android, I end up getting both notifications in my email AND in the App... I tried disabling email notifications, but then my FB App wouldnt update automatically either... Soo I'm stuck getting notifications in both my email and App. Is there any way to just get automatic notifications on the Facebook App? What am I missing lol?

You need to log on Facebook with a normal computer. (Or your Eris if you go to the touch site, then scroll down, then click the link 'Full Site', then go from there, but it's easier on a normal computer)

Go to Account > Account Settings > Notifications > Uncheck all the boxes for e-mail, then hit 'Save' at the bottom.

You won't get notification e-mails.
