Default Can you send yourself a vtext message?

I went to my verizon wireless account and tried to send a text to my number@vtext.com The web site came back with "invalid address". No hyphens or special characters, just the 10 digit number@vtext.com I even tried sending a text from a hotmail account to my vtext address - no go.

Is anyone able to send a text to your own phone through the web site? I have a feeling that is why iPhones can't send or receive pictures from the Eris.

Send a text message to your e-mail.

Usually the text number is 'something'@vtext.com

I'm APPLESTOMPER@vtext.com

I don't know why they pick that.

It's also like YOURNUMBER@something.VZWSOMETHING.COM

the vtext.com one isn't your phone number, it's a random name that I think (they) assign.

Just text your e-mail address, and you'll have an 'email address' to reply to.

I guess once you select a nickname, your 10 digit doesn't work anymore. I had actually forgot my nickname.
