I love my Jawbone Prime. I got it from VZW for $100, but I think there might have been some combo sale price going on there. But then this was back in September.

I would take a look at this chart. It will show you everything available at Phandroid and give you good idea what the sizes, battery life and popularity of each headset is.
I have a Samsung and a Jabra headset that I use daily. Verizon is offering the Samsung WEP870 which allows for both mono and stereo use. This means you can use it for talk as well as listening to music. It also offers about 6 hrs of talk time and is only $29.95 right now through Verizon's site. The Moto H790 also looks good, but if you are already going to spend $80 on a headset, why not just spend the extra $20 and get the Jawbone Icon.

This one looks interesting... do the earbuds detach from the bluetooth ear piece? I'm just not very familiar with these things I always worry I'll look like a crazy person walking around talking to myself while using one of these, lol! I use Uconnect in my JEEP. Not even sure I would use something like this, but I love gadgets Would this work sufficiently for wantching movies on the phone as well? I'm taking a road trip and will need to drown out the noise from the back seat, ha ha.
Just checked cnet's review of this and they rated it Excellent!

Reason: Additional info
The more I look at it, I may end up picking one of these up. $29.99 is a great price for something like this. It looks like the earpiece is used like any other BT headset and then you just plug it into the stereo ear bud thingy (sorry, I know I get too technical sometimes) and you are set for stereo. There are some better pics of it here: Samsung WEP870 Convertible Mono and Stereo Bluetooth Headset - Phandroid Store
I have to say that the Samsung WEP-200 is one of the best headsets I have ever owned. It is small and the sound quality is outstanding. The only real drawback is that it only has 3 hours of talk time. If this one is as good and has 6 hrs then it should be outstanding.
I've been using the Cardo S800 for the past couple years and have never had any problems with it. Pairs to devices quickly, sound quality is excellent (on both ends) and best of all its small form factor and innovative earhook design make it surprisingly comfortable, almost to the point that you forget you have it on. There's a good chance there are superior bluetooth earpieces out there by now, but if you can find this one for a good price, I recommend giving it a try.

Phandroid is selling it for $79! I'm gonna go ahead and pick it up from Verizon too, can't pass up such a great deal (confessions of a shopaholic). I was watching one on ebay you said you currently use, but this seems better to me. Thanks for the tip!
I feel I should have made a better case for my Jawbone Prime. In almost every instance, the person on the other end of the line wasn't able to tell that I was using a handsfree. My own ability to hear was never compromised. And my favorite feature, the noise-cancelling is so good that I can go to the bathroom, flush the toilet, and wash my hands and my fiancee had no idea.
Of course, I had to tell her everything afterwards just so I could show off.
Oh, and the twist-to-fit ear gel is works amazingly well. I've tried to use my old plantronics without an ear loop, and it always started to droop, but the Prime stays perfectly in place, and I have LARGE ears, inside and out. I'm sure the smaller sizes would work for anyone.
I agree with you. Jawbone makes a great product and they just keep getting better. I used to have one, stolen out of my car, and I loved how well it worked. I think the only drawbacks for carmen is that they are not offering the prime on Verizon's site right now and the price. After losing one, the price really held me back from buying another one.

Oh well i didn't want to break MY bank but i'll make my dad get it for me...I want a bluetooth that is comfortable
It's so funny with my hair being so long(down my back) that people actually think i am talking to myself till you see the blue light flashing through my hair
but i think i might go with the jawbone. I am hearing good things!!!

No blue light with the Jawbone. In fact, mine is black, so I'm sure it'd be completely invisible on your noggin'.
I have owned everything under the sun. Hands down the Jawbone is the best ever made. Never had one issue or problem. I also always get the same response " You are on a bluetooth?" You will be happy with your purchase.
I know you do not want to spend a fortune but the best Bluetooth outhere is the Jawbone ICON. It is really clear comfortable and has some really cool features.
I have an older H700 Motorola that I liked since the mic would fold in an shut the Headset off.. It works sometimes with my Eris, I think the headset might be bad though as it is a couple years old
Just found this review of the Icon that says it's pretty similar to the Prime, so check the article and I would get whichever you can find at a the lowest price.
this is my second pair of stereo bluetooth and i love it. sound quality is surprisingly not tinny at all and ive never heard anyone bitch about the mic sounding like crap. also the battery life is unbelievable.

The million dollar question for bluetooth is: Does anyone know of one that works "handsfree" with a Droid Eris phone? We have the Eris now but are considering switching to the Motorola Droid because of the bluetooth issue. We have a Plantronics 220 and a Motorola H780 and neither of them will work handsfree. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. We only have until the 28th to switch under the thirty day return for Verizon. Also if anyone knows of a bluetooth that is handsfree for the Motorola Droid, that would be a very much appreciated.
The best bluetooth I have ever had is my PS3 bluetooth. If you spend a lot of time outside on the phone may not be the best choice, but if you are in the car and around the house you can't beat the price or quality.

I have used the PS3 on my eris with no problems. Sometimes you need to go into settings and turn on the bluetooth. You may also need to make sure that the phone gives you a message that it is connected before you can use it.

Most bluetooth headsets work with the Eris and Droid. Not sure what problems you are having or why you are putting hands free in quotes. The only thing I can figure is that you are looking for voice dialing via bluetooth and unfortunately that isn't going to happen right now. It is a limitation of the Android OS, none of them do voice dialing via bluetooth.

I've owned the 870 for a couple of months and I'm still happy with the purchase. The biggest surprise was how well the thing works as a standalone headset, the dual mic noise reduction works great on everything except wind. The biggest omission is the lack of any music AVRCP transport controls. Would it have been too much trouble to but a pause control on the headset? When I bought it, Samsung had a $20 mail in rebate so I ended up paying $7.88 shipped. I've owned a bunch of bt headsets including a Plantronics 855 and a Jawbone, even at $30, this headsets a great deal!

When looking at reviews at a couple sites, I saw where one guy said that it pairs without requiring entry of a PIN as long as the phone supports Bluetooth 2.1. The Eris seems to be a 2.0 device.
Will I really need to enter a PIN from the headset, and how the heck does one do such a thing?

If you have to put in a PIN, typically a bunch of zeros, the phone will ask for it during pairing. I have paired my phone with 5 different bluetooth devices and haven't had to put a PIN in yet.
Didn't want to start a new thread for this, I don't mean to be a thread jacker but does anyone remember the car blue tooth that has been thrown around on these forums a few times? I've searched for it but cant find the posts.. it was something by moto. I need to see if it plays music (pandora, last.fm etc) as well as calls before I go buy but I cant think of the model :-(

Motorolla T505
It has a built in FM modulator and can play music or take calls through the cars radio. Works great, BTW.
I'm a fan of Jawbone, each product they come out with gets WAY better. im on the Jawbone 2 (the skinny one, before prime) I can often (not always) have my windows down and wind going and the wifey can't tell the difference. the only issue is if the little bud isn't touching your skin you aren't heard very well. but i'll be buying jawbone for years to come :-)
oh use this site to find the lowest price on things
Thanks! For awhile, (like 3 days) I took my eris off my account and went to a razor.. I was going to buy a zune and just use it for music/ wifi internet where i normally would use my eris.. but I'm too much of a phone junkie.. I just dropped my minute plan to get the savings I wanted.. Thanks OTD.. Now I need to find somewhere I can get one cheap.
I got the Samsung WEP870 for $32 shipped from the vzw website. It works well, sound is pretty good and the stereo headbuds are awesome... the actual headset will not stay on well though! The clear ear hook is too big for my ear I did just order replacement hooks off of ebay that are supposed to be smaller and bendable though ($8 shipped for 4 clear hooks). I hope this will be a good solution for me because this is a great little bluetooth and stereo headset for me!
EDIT: I got the new clear ear hooks off ebay today. They are indeed a little smaller, but more importantly, they are somewhat bendable. These made a HUGE difference in the fit of this headset for me and I am very satisfied at this point... I did have to spend more money, but it was worth it.

I received the WEP870 the other day. It works as advertised. I use it almost exclusively with the stereo ear buds, for listening to music.
While walking I carry the Eris in my pants pockets. I find that I need to keep the Eris in my front pocket; sound breaks up if I carry it in my hip pocket. The sound is not quite as good as my cheap wired headset--weaker bass, and the volume won't go as high--but just fine for accompanying the dog on our walks. For $32, I'm happy.
Thanks to all for the suggestions.

I cant get my Eris to pair with anything but my laptops. I have the Samsung WEP420. I've tried some of my buddies headsets too and I had no luck. Bummer.

I also got this headset and noticed the first time that the sound wasn't quite loud enough. Then today, it dawned on me to not only turn up the media volume on the phone, but turn up the volume on the headset It made a huge difference, lol. You probably did that, but I thought I'd share just in case you hadn't.
I'm joining the Jawbone fan club. I've owned the Jawbone Prime for a while now and its been nothing short of amazing. Perfect clarity on both ends and the noise assassin does its job well. Great product.
Jawbones are phenomenal. They're a bit pricey, but worth every penny. You can literally be in a very very noisy environment and the other person will not know, and you'll be able to hear them great too.

That's hilarious, because I discovered the same thing while on my morning walk just today!
When you hold down the volume button in the headset, it beeps fairly quickly. I thought that meant that it was at the limit of its range. It turns out that if you let up and press it over and over, it gets louder and louder.

This thread is over but i have a question that was sparked by this thread, and now i'm on the hunt. Are there any Jawbones that allow stereo and Mp3 Playback?
I like the Samsung WEP870 but i figure if it's $75.00 id rather spend extra and get a jawbone.

I just bought the WEP870 off the Verizon site recently for $29. If you are looking for a stereo headset, this is the way to go... $32 shipped FedEx.

Yes, you have to listen through the earbuds on the necklace, aka as a lanyard. Not sure if there is a headset that would allow you to listen to music through it. All "stereo" headsets I've seen have either earbuds or earphones that would be worn on both ears. I am not an expert in this area though, you would be better off asking OTD, she mentioned having several different bluetooths and actually pointed out the samsung wep870 in this thread.
Oh, and I got the replacement ear hooks off of ebay. I just searched samsung wep870 ear hooks!

I have a Jabra BT8040 and it's the best that I've tried. It's comfortable and sounds good too. I've tried a bunch of others and this one is my favorite. I noticed that Jabra is also coming out with a new bluetooth stereo ear set that works with a phone and can be used to listen to music and talk on the phone too. It's called the clipper and I'll be trying that set up also.
Thanks. Actually I changed it from my "real" picture because of that thread about you that got out of control. Made me think, maybe not such a good idea to post my face on the internet... My replacement is adorable though isn't she

Wow! That was one looonnnggg review! Good to know it will work in mono for music though. Wait to see if you need the other ear hooks though. I have smaller ears so it was big for me, but might be fine for you.

Good move.
I like my moto S9 stereo BT but it fits tightly and picks up on every sound around me. I'm liking what I'm seeing about the Jawbone. May take the plunge.
