I've been playing with the K9 Email app as a replacement for the stock program. I rather like it, but there is a deal breaker. On my secondary gmail account (not the one the Eris is set up with, but another one that I set up in K9) the font size in the message is so tiny I can't see it. I've searched the options over and over to find a setting to increase the font size, but apparently I can't find it. Would any of you happen to know where it is?

I ended up uninstalling K9 because of the tiny font size.

Well that's just going to suck! I like the app, I really do, I'm just too old to see that small of print. I've googled the problem with no success, though I did find some interesting articles about texting and k-9's but I'm not sure they are appropriate to share!!!!!!

there is a option for touch screen something, it at least expands the email list when on your inbox screen

I've looked all through mine and cannot find anything in the setting that will increase the font size of an email.

Does the native email app allow you to do that?

It does. It has several choses from smallest to largest under settings/general. And to be fair, it's not unreasonable for me to go back to the stock app. I just really like K9, except for the tiny fonts. I was hoping it was just a setting I was missing. It sucks getting older! That was another reason I gave up my Omnia to get the Eris. I had to use my wife's Eris one day, and I realized I could actually SEE the text on it. With the Omnia at its highest settings I still had to oftentimes whip out the readers to see it.

Thanks Caddyman! It does make it easier to select the email, but it's still in that tiny font. I suppose it's back to the stock app, unless someone has other suggestions for an app for me to play with!

I wonder how difficult it would be for the developer to add that feature?

It's worth a shot to ask him/her.

And I agree, I think K-9 is far and above better than the stock email app.

heck yeah, tell him to clean up the inbox view in general, i would pay for a good app.

When I read the comments in the Market about K9, some people complained about the font size being too large! I could not figure that out at all...

Not sure I'll get a response, but it's worth a shot.

Good news at last! There is now a beta version of K-9 that allows you to permanently change font size. (The "large" setting is perfect.) It's version 2703 available at Downloads - k9mail - Project Hosting on Google Code.

Font size control is in the global Settings. Go to the list of Accounts, hit menu,
choose Settings, choose "Font size"

There is currently a problem with overlapping text in the message list, with a large font. The problem does not seem to exist if you also choose the "touch-friendly" style from the Settings menu.

Wow - thanks for the tip. I just downloaded version 2711 and it solves all the font size issues with fully customizable fonts.

Just downloaded the latest version of the software. Can increase all font sizes but I can't figure out how to increase the font size for the text when I am composing a message. Can anyone tell me if I can increase that font size and how to do it?

I just downloaded K9 because my aol stopped updating for some reason, i like the K9 but when i hit the button to load more emails it loads the emails i had deleted, how do i fix this? I want my deleted emails gone and only get the ones that are just coming in.

You probably figured this out by now, but hitting the menu button, and then 'check mail' is what you're looking for
