Ya did the Messages thing, maybe my problem is like OTD's as I can't seem to leave the phone alone very long..
quick question, how did you set Goggle Voice as your default text app ?
If you have the Google Voice app installed on your phone and you have not set the Message app as the default already, just go to any contact as if you were going to send them a text and when your keyboard pulls up it will ask which program you want to use. Just check the "Use as Default" box and choose Google Voice.
If you already have the Message app as the default, go to settings, applications, manage apps. Go to the Message App and clear the default setting, then go back and do the step I just listed above to make Google Voice the default.
You can do this with any message app, by the way. I just use Google Voice for free texting.
Confirmed that it zooms out on every page, but that's a 2.x thing and it's that way on the Moto Droid as well. I have the google sign-in issue as well, but I rarely restart my phone.
I can only confirm that on the moto droid all web pages were zoomed out to view the whole page, needing to zoom in to read.
digital clock doesn't seem to 2.1 capable yet.
Anyone confirm this?
Facebook contact sync is working alright occasionally. The name in your phone has to match exactly the Facebook name to sync up. Get more HTC widgets is offline too

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but say I go into the application Where and decide to view a business web page...... it will not let me. It says 'web page not available'. If I use the browser and go to a website, it will open the page fine. Same problem exists in other applications that will allow you to visit third party websites. Anyone else have this problem?

I noticed this with Urbanspoon, but I thought it was just the app. It isn't doing this with other apps that are already "connected" like peep or feedr.
Odd that our build of 2.1 doesn't have Friend stream. Why is that? And I thought all HTC and Android widgets were on the same section now. Could this be an earlier build?
Also, any one notice that even after you close the Amazon mp3 store app(after turning on your phone that is), that it like pops up in the background by itself. Any ideas on how to stop that?

Ok, so I learned the hard way about using Mybackup before I saw this thread. Is there an easy fix to what's messed up, or do I have to reflash?
If I have to reflash, is it just the same procedure as the original 2.1 flash, or are there other steps involved? I.E. going to recovery or something like that?

To answer my own question, a simple factory reset seems to have taken care of my weather widget problem. I'll update with news if anything else comes up.

I know this was already mentioned as a problem, but has anyone figured out how to link a google contact to a facebook profile? When I select the contact in the People App, and try to manually link them it does not display any facebook contacts at all. This is the only thing so far about this update that is driving me crazy. Other then that, I am loving it. Phone seems a lot more responsive overall!

This may be a silly question, but you are signed in to sync with Facebook right?
Settings > Accounts & Sync > Facebook
Also, if you go to Add account at the bottom there are 2 different facebooks to sync with. You want Facebook for HTC Sense syncing.

Yah I saw that it had 2 for some reason. I have logged into the Facebook for HTC Sense account successfully.
UPDATE: Just did a reboot and now when I click on Facebook for HTC Sense it allows me to check sync contacts (before the option did not exist) Also the little sync icon on the right of the facebook account just stayed gray before. Now it is green and syncing perfectly. Really Strange, but I hope that helps anyone out!

Anyone else having trouble dialing out with Google Voice? It doesn't seem to be connecting and my Verizon number is being used instead. Sending and receiving text through GV seems to be ok.

Mobile network showed no service twice. Been running 2.1 for about 3 hours now. I don't believe my phone was wiped clean. all my photo's were still in the phone after update.

If this post sounds "jerky", I'm sorry. I come off that way most of the time.
So something weird happened this morning. I woke up to my phone ringing and picked it up but there was no answer and I could hear no static from the earpiece, I hung up and called them back but the same thing happened. The dialer on the phone was laggy as hell too, so I had to reboot. I dont know if this is related directly to the 2.1 update or if it was just something that happened out of nowhere. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Anyway, I rebooted and for some reason I didnt have to log back into google, I think what fixed it was that I logged in through the imap/pop3 option last time i rebooted. Yep thats the only 'bug' type thing I can find as of now.

Just an update...I have downloaded both gallery apps from install genie weather widget from android 2.1 | droid life: a motorola droid blog the new eclair with pinch to zoom and the flan gallery. Although the pinch to zoom feature would be nice It was waaaayyyy too laggy to be useable for me. The Flan gallery looks to be the exact same thing minus the pinch to zoom and is much faster.

I've been messing with it all afternoon. If you turn off 3G, it won't even be able to use Google Voice to make a phone call. But it's obviously not connecting to Google Voice because it's not dialing the bridging number and the other person can see your non-GV number. Sucks.
I had to download the old 3rd party app "GV" and using that for now. It's horrible because it has to dial your Google number like a dumbphone. Takes forever to call anybody.
Man this is exciting! Okay, so I've found a new bug (maybe) that hasn't been mentioned yet. I think it all comes down to ATK playing rough with Sense.
I lost the ability to to use pinch-to-zoom.
Not on the home screen, not in the browser. A simple restart fixed it, though. I noticed it after I used ATK to clean up the memory after I attempted to use Google Earth and a buncha other apps. A couple of times after killing apps, I've been greeted by the HTC startup logo and watched Sense reload before I could use the phone again. I know what you're thinking... I killed some critical process. But I know better! I don't kill things like messages and the clock and my widgets, and there aren't even any android processes visible in the list to be killed. I've "crashed" Sense a few times using ATK, and it doesn't seem to be consistently linked to any specific program.
Hopefully the 2.1 memory management is improved enough that I won't ever want to use a task killer again.

My facebook contacts synced, but none of the pictures did, only the contact info. Anyone else experiencing this problem? note: I used "backup and share"

Alright so battery life don't seem any better. I checked status said my cell stand by without reception has been 71%. now today I noticed places I had full bars I now carry only one bar , two max. anyone else having this problem. its killing my battery badly.
