stock browser zooms every page load all the way out, this may be normal behavior though

Pictures don't show up in gmail messages, and almost all programs that need to access the the browser fail at doing so.
The browser randomly freezes and closes with no force close message.
Handcent is having issues with sending texts. In most cases it says that the text failed to send, but the recipient receives it anyway.
Any link inside an app does not work. For example, clicking on a pic in a tweet in any twitter app does not work. Using Wapedia to search Wiki does not work. They all give a browser error message asking to reload. Can anyone else confirm this?
Fixes/workarounds
If you want the browser to zoom in the way it used to simply open the browser and menu > more > settings and uncheck Open pages in overview.
for txt not sending try a *228 option 2, i would recommended this anyway after the upgrade.
for the link in apps being broke, use a 3rd party browser
Apps that don't show in market and/or don't work
Any copy protected apps will not show on the market till vzw sends the update info to google.
Google Earth - installed but when launched does nothing.
WeatherBug Elite - doesnt show up in market.

Don't restore System Settings or anything like that (with mybackup app), as it will screw with the system and mess stuff up.

Also, I was able to get my facebook contacts and gmail contacts out of my People section, but when I hit the phone button, the facebook people still show up there. They don't show up under people, but they do when I access the phone. The last thing I want is to accidentally call one of them. Anyone know how to get rid of them from there?

The voice text thing does not work for me either, despite installing the pack and enabling it and whatnot. Typed an email and text, nothing came up. No biggie, maybe it isn't functioning or I'm not doing it right.

Confirmed that it zooms out on every page, but that's a 2.x thing and it's that way on the Moto Droid as well. I have the google sign-in issue as well, but I rarely restart my phone.
I'm reporting the gmail login error and also my Eris is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more laggy than it has ever been.

I'm curious. The reason I ask is because maybe AwesomeIT can benefit from it, depending on whether or not he is rolled back to 1.5, stays at 2.1, or simply gets boned and bricks his phone. If he goes back to 1.5, he may be able to reinstall 2.1 and see if something went wrong along the way the first time.

found in handsent it now has a delivery confirmation report to it. might just be an issue due to week signal, but I was getting an unable to send error and sent some text like 5 times cause of this error. but the comformation report (when working) is kinda nice to see that they did recieve the text....

Noticeable difference - When connected to your PC, the menu has changed to mount the card to your computer. If your confused, click the "Charge Only" option from the notifications menu and it gives you options to mount it. It's a little confusing, because it lists "Charge Only" "HTC Sync" and "Disk Drive". It leads you to believe you can do one or the other, and not both. However, if you select disk drive, it still charges.
I thought I would mention it because at first glance it seems confusing. I prefer the 1.5 method.
anyone have to input a password everytime you unlock the phone? im not sure if this is standard or its required by my active exchange account syncing. i also dont see any pattern lock options. anyone notice this?

When I first install 2.1 I used my backup to restore everything. BAD IDEA. messes up the HTC Widgets, as in they disappear if you restore everything.
After second install of 2.1 I had the sign in problem
After third install, things seem much better but still some issues
Pure Calendar does not show up in market but all the other Pure products do.
Google Earth doesn't work but heard that even on the MotoDroid it is very slow. Didn't have it on 1.5 so not a loss plus there is still google maps and navigator that works fine
For syncing to services, there is a Facebook and Facebook for HTC Sense. First one does not seem to respond
None of the pictures from gmail contacts are synced. Most pictures from facebook are low res but seem to be slowly updating to hi-res over time. Have to individually link a lot of profiles between services. Not seamless like before
Besides that, everything runs much much faster and nicer widgets, sense ui work faster and has a view that shows all screens at once.
Verified apps working : ebuddy , google goggles, maps 4.0, greed, locale, Navigator, Pandora, weatherbug elite(installed from backup)

Sounds like a security policy pushed from Exchange. Is this a corporate account?

Yes it is, but with 1.5 it never made me use a password like this... but it wouldnt surprise me, i do know that some exchange servers require the mobile device to have a password lock for security purposes.

under people, hit menu, then view and uncheck show auto gmail contacts.

I'm having trouble disabling my haptic feedback and touch sound while texting. It's off on the scree and the physical buttons but for whatever reason in the messaging app it still vibrates and makes noise and I have everything clicked off

It's actually anywhere they keyboard comes up, and it doesn't vibrate or beep when using the stock keyboard just better keyboard , in betterkeyboard the settings are turned off .

DAMN... my gmail contact pics are not syncing and that is because in gmail, the custom pics I had are all gone. Did this happen to anyone else? I may have done this to myself when I used My Backup and restored everything. Has anyone else had this problem?

2.1 is AWESOME! But I want google earth to work! If you are using handset and get a "no delivery" message, you have to go into setting of handset, navigate to "split 160" and enable to "simple split" and it will work fine.
When, if anybody knows will Google earth work? (i just had a spelling error with "google" The correction was "Google" lol!) anyways...

I was, as well, but just had to make sure the default "Message" program was not set as the default. Once I set Google Voice to be my default texting program, my awake time is back down again.

so anyone try going back to 1.5/ how do you? i kind of want to.. im not feeling to great about this leak.. my battery life seems a lot worse.. i pretty much had my eris running very smooth, fast, and lasting me long before all this.
