Default Transfer Paid Apps to a New Phone?

Sorry if this is already posted, I searched and didnt find anything.

I stepped on my first Eris (don't ask) and had to get a replacement through Asurion. Well, I thought when I got my new phone I would be able to redownload all the apps I had purchased but I cant. The Market wants me to pay for them all again. I guess the market tracks you specifially with your phone, not your account. So I called Verizon, of course they were no help. The chick didn't even try to help, I asked her if I could get those apps back and she stalled for a second like she really didnt know but also didnt want to take the time to find out, then she said NOPE. I was like man, that sucks, she said YEP! That was the end of the conversation. Surely there is a way for me to get these apps back without paying for them again? I know they are inexpensive but when you have 10 or so they start to add up! Not to mention I had my first phone for less than a month and hardly got to enjoy the apps I purchased. I've thought about emailing the dev's but dont know if thats a good approach or not. Advice would be much appreciated.

If you save the emails from Google.Market when you purchased the apps you can just contact the developer and get the apps back. A bit of a pain, but I had to do it with a couple of apps after a factory reset.

Ok, maybe I am ******ed but I logged into my Gmail account and there are no emails from any of the apps I bought. I still have emails from when I first got my phone letting me know how to set everything up but nothing from any app purchases.

Strange, I upgraded from a HTC magic to a Nexus one in January. I just put my old SIM card into the N1, logged into my Google account and opened the Market, clicked on Downloads and all apps I've ever downloaded (free and paid) on the HTC magic appeared in the list, from there I simply installed them again.

Sorry OTD I am apparently not as bright as I once thought. Please have patience with me Ok, I went to checkout.google.com and logged in and it takes me to a page to sign up for a new google account, wants me to enter my CC info. Dont I already have a google account? Considering I essentially have a google phone? Wouldnt that be what I used to purchase all my apps? I am waaaay confused :-/ Why wont it just let me log in? Here is where it redirects after log in:

https://checkout.google.com/buyerSignup?continue=https%3A%2F%2Fcheckout.google .com%2Fmain%3Fupgrade%3Dtrue&hl=en_US&hsk=1&csr=ht tps%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Faccounts%2FServiceLog in%3Fservice%3Dsierra%26continue%3Dhttps%253A%252F %252Fcheckout.google.com%252Fmain%253Fupgrade%253D true%26hl%3Den_US%26nui%3D1%26ltmpl%3Ddefault

And why wont forum let me say r-e-t-a-r-d-e-d ???? LOL

It's because we're on a leaked 2.1 upgrade, so a lot of apps won't show up until VZW releases the official upgrade. Or at least that's what I've heard.

What happens if you paid for your Android Market purchases via your carrier (T-Mobile)? In this case you don't see the purchases listed on http://checkout.google.com

Kiss No problem with the Sprint Galaxy

I just got the Sprint Galaxy and went into the android market app on the phone and went under the "my apps" tab and saw all my past downloads that I have purchased. I just hit the install tab and the were immediately downloaded back onto my new Galaxy. I was not charged for them as they recognized that I had already purchased them.
I am almost certain it was so easy because the first thing I did with my new phone is log onto my gmail account before I did anything else.

Default Transferring all your apps to new phone

This is what I had to do because logging into android market on my phone alone didn't show any apps that I own:

Go to your Google dashboard on your pc after logging into your google account: /www.google.com/dashboard and click on Android Market/Installed Applications. You will see a list of what is installed. When you click on a specific one, you will get see a box that says "installed". Click on it and it gives you options to install it on other phones.
