I'm a Fire Protection Engineer for a small locally owned company in Dayton, Ohio. Being able to access technical docs on the web (when I don't have my laptop handy) is great. Having access to email & my Outlook calendar is awesome! And the camera rocks too!

I'm pastor of South Peninsula Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, FL. I migrated to the Eris from a whole slew of mediocre Windows Mobile phones, the most recent being an Omnia. I could make them do anything the Eris does, but the Eris just does it and it WORKS. I like the JUST WORKS part a lot. I like the ability to sync my Outlook contacts and calendars to keep up with what I have to be doing. (Yes, HTC Sync actually works well for me).
Education? Well I'm a bit of a perpetual student.
Stetson University (A.A. Equivalent)
The Baptist College of Florida (Bachelor of Theology)
Andersonville Seminary (Master of Theology)
Andersonville Seminary (Current candidate for Doctor of Theology)
Full time student, ITT Tech (Computer Network Systems). Was going to go into security but thinking about changing to programming because I think it would be more fun. Looking to transfer to Maryland or Johns Hopkins.
Work at a Verizon premium retailer while I am in school and until I can land a job in IT.
If I am at work, I am on my phone all day. If I am at school I dont really use it too much. I average about a full day (7am-10 11pm) if I have classes, and about half a day if I'm at work.
Most of us know Johns Hopkins as the best med school in the US, but I never really stopped think about its undergraduate. Do they have one? I'm trying to check their site but it's loading real slow. Not that it matters, I just never thought outside of med school when thinking of JH.
I use my Eris ALL THE TIME. In addition to using the phone to make calls, I also use it to check on my school's e-mail account, keep track of class assignment due dates, and see if any new assignments or updates to assignments have been posted when I can't get to a computer (in my car, at lunch, et al.).
Interior remodeling, I specialize in restoring older houses. Also part time cannabis/hemp legalization activist (out collecting sigs for ballot initiatives, etc)
I use my Eris to log my hours worked (timecatcher) so I can easily send them to the owners.. Makes it very simple

Roll Tide!
Ugh.. Bammers. Haha. I'm kidding. How cliche is this, but a good friend of mine at AU is a 'bama fan? He's very poised though. I think we give him more crap than he does to us, even with the Title.

Yeah, same here. It was a blessing when teachers cancelled class. It got even better when I'd leave notes at home, but I was able to log in to Blackboard and open up PowerPoints and follow along. That, coupled with Drop Box (https://www.dropbox.com/) was just bliss. I'd highly recommend it.

Interesting. Not a cannabis smoker, but it's an interesting situation we've got right now.

My full-time job is a Financial Manager for the largest hospital system in Western PA, but the fun job is being a Medic one day a week for the past 15 years.
I'm a full time student, Applied and Computational Mathematics. I currently work for IT on campus and I am constantly using my phone to check my work and personal email between classes.
Sorry I messed up earlier but i see alot of ppl elaborating.
I'm actually a freshmen at Penn State, I do modeling, and work at hollister
and i use my phone heavily for texting, phone conversations, taking pictures,
and also for downloading a bunch of applications i rarely use.
My battery only lasts me about 3 hours before i have to charge again
Device(s): Incredible 2, stock 2.3.4

Long story, short version is 5 generations of my family graduated from the Capstone. I was one of three who didn't. My uncle went to Stetson, I went to Stetson and theology college, and my cousin went to CowTown . One of my greatest memories is of the times that Coach Bryant would come have dinner at our house and I'd peek into the kitchen to catch a glimpse of what the adults were doing around the kitchen table after banishing me to my room.
Im a network engineer/pc tech/real estate developer and barber...IM A GREEDY BASTARD!

Do you watch the Big Bang Theory on CBS? It's full of physics jokes many people overlook but still find the show funny. Check it out sometime, if you haven't already.

That's crazy that Bear used to eat dinner with your family. Was that the norm, something he did with families in the (I'm assuming) Birmingham/T-town area?

Yeah that is what I hear from most people when I tell them that, but they do have a very nice computer sciences program there. Their site is not the easiest thing to navigate around on. It took me 30min to find all the info about their computer sciences programs. My younger brother went to Maryland and really like their program so I will probably wind up there (it has a lower tuition, and is closer to where I live which is a plus).
Former newspaper photojournalist. Now overseeing and shooting photo/video at the University of Colorado, my alma mater. Got out of newspapers at a good time two years ago for personal reasons and burn-out, but I miss the camaraderie and pure story-telling aspect. I love my Eris.
Interesting to see how many posters in this thread are in law enforcement.

Ah, I see. I guess the med school steals all the thunder then.
Commercial pilot, aircraft mechanic. Currently out of work (thanks, economy ), but I have a part-time gig as a technician for an airline simulator until things pick up again. When I am able to fly, my Eris is perfect for checking weather, filing flight plans, finding good restaurants on trips, and playing games while waiting for clients.
(Speaking of games, Drop7 just made the jump to Android from the iPhone. Go find it in the Market. Fantastically addictive casual game.)
Graduated college / flight school over a year ago from a little place most people have never heard of in eastern TX, LeTourneau Univ.

Law enforcement here. I use my phone to call the dispatchers and ask why I am being sent to a house because a 9 year old is throwing things and the parents don't know what to do. Maybe it's a California thing.
Been trying to get hired for a while now. This budget is a MESS though. Hopefully soon!
Police Officer... always use my phone. The extra google voice number is helpful so dirtbags don't have my real number when I call them... the google voice phone number toggle switch is the best.. camera is ok, I liked the dare's camera the best so far. I stream Pandora occasionally and if I'm bored I'll play fishin' 2 go..
I don't believe I've heard of the toggle for GV... where would I find that? I also had the dare for my last phone and the camera was very good IMO too.
Former powersports mechanic (Hon, Kaw, Suz, Yam, Pol, [Can,] Bom, Sea) now in enterprise software QA. Still ride, still wrench.
You wouldn't believe how handy it is to have an entire library of service manual PDFs you can stick in your pocket, then answer calls about my day job at the same time -- for $50. Even more so if my 2.1 build stays as solid as it has.

Good luck, it's always been a bitch to get hired in the northeast, but even the rest of the country isn't hiring now. The sit and wait game sucks, I've been there.
Device(s): HTC Droid Incredible 2, Motorola Xoom...also have HTC Thunderbolt and Samsung Galaxy Tab

You just gave me another reason to convince my husband (police officer) to get this phone....AND, you've also given me a new idea to throw at some of my guys who have this phone already. Although our agency DOES provide them with a cell phone, it does not allow them to call anyone who is not already programmed in it (other troopers, dispatch, etc.) so they still have to use their personal cells. Thanks for that tip!!!!!

LOL we dispatchers have fun sending you guys to that... And to 5150's :-) Jk, but if it comes in as a 911, we havvve to send an officerrr.
I'm a sales leader at Best Buy - I manage the team that answers the phones haha... not the most amazing job in the field, considering I do nothing but deal with idiots all day, but the best part is the phone comp from Verizon - $25/mo gets me 1500 mins, data and text plus the phone was free anyway because they are doing some heavy promoting on the Eris.

I work for the cell phone carrier that sells the Eris and provides service for the Eris. We do jot make the Eris and no, I am not a store rep or a care rep. I started my career with carrier in question as a data tech support rep when it was still an independent department. Now it is just all tech support.

We lived in Prattville, near Montgomery. He bought his suits at a store named "Gents" in the mall in Prattville, and my dad owned a bookstore there. Coach was a friend of our family, so when he would come to town to buy a new suit he would stop by and have dinner with us. I was around 6 or 7, and I remember sneaking out of my room, out the window, then coming into the pantry from the outside so I could peek in. As I said, I would have been a legacy student at 'Bama had I chosen to go. Sometimes I regret the decision.
Computer Systems Engineer - Design, test, and configure systems for various task, mostly rapid deployment via network for software and the likes.

The HTC Droid Eris launched for Verizon Wireless on November 6th in part as the carrier's first Android Phone. However it was overshadowed by the other member of the inaugural Verizon Droid duo - the Motorola Droid. The Droid Eris might look fa... Read More
