Do you know who else went to Stetson University? Ray Finkle! Don't know who Ray Finkle is? Let me tell you about him.
"Soccer style kicker graduated from Collier High June 1976, Stetson University honors graduate class of 1980, holds 2 NCAA Division One records, one for most points in a season, one for distance, former nickname "The Mule," the first and only pro-athlete ever to come out of Collier County and one hell of a model American."

Law enforcement here. I use my phone to call the dispatchers and ask why I am being sent to a house because a 9 year old is throwing things and the parents don't know what to do. Maybe it's a California thing.
Absolutely not a California thing...unfortunately, happens in Maine too! LOL! I feel your pain. I usually use mine to call the dispatcher and ask why I'm being sent to a complaint of someone blowing snow onto someone else's property...
my title is Architectural Sales Rep for Modernfold. basically what i do is convince architects to specify my products for new buildings they are designing.
I gotta be honest. I've heard of the profession of "being in retail" but never knew exactly what they did. All I know is people that are in it, some of them, don't like it and resent that they're in it. What's wrong with it?

I worked in retail when I was in college and it sucked. People make the most ridiculous demands of you and can't understand why it is a problem. Watch Clerks sometime, the stuff they show in that movie is pretty mild compared to some of the stuff I remember.

Yeah, many, MANY years ago I worked in a ladies shoe store in a big new mall in California for two years (I held out for two years!).
Women would come in that store wearing a pair of shoes they got several weeks ago, come up to the register and take one off and demand they get a refund for this or that reason. It happened at least once a week.
They'd try on shoes for an hour, leave them laying around the bench or chair and come over to me or yell from where they were at, "Get me those!" pointing at a display across the store.
They'd nearly always have me bring out shoes in a size that was obviously at least one size too small for their feet, and then insist it was something wrong with the shoes that hurt their feet.
Oh, man, now I'm reliving it all. I need a cognac.

Well on the upside, if you are doing that you aren't writing speeding tickets.
Im a letter carrier with the USPS. I use my droid constantly during the long boring days LOL. Whether its surfing twitter on my break, or talking to coworkers on the street, or contacting customers or calling the office on occasion. I listen to music, podcasts to pass the time on the slow days, shoot pics of stupid stuff i see on route also

The videos we have are in a special format called "3GP." In order to view these, you need special codecs, or better yet, a special player.
Download the full version to get all codecs as well as Media Player Classic. I use it to play all movies I download, as well as the videos on my phone.
There will be a lot of options and menus and what not during setup, just go with the defaults. 3GP should be able to be viewed after that.
I own a public relations firm and I'm celebrating our 19th year! Love accessing my office PC from my Eris when I'm in a meeting and need some info. Always impresses somebody.

I was actually hoping to hear some health care professions, namely physicians. See if any found the platform useful. I guess I could just go to the hospital and see what phones they have but..

I see a lot of Blackberries amongst doctors. Curves, mainly.

Quite a few of the nurses I work with have Eris or Droid, but I haven't seen any of the docs with them yet.

^ This. Clerks is my life. Especially when I was in blockbuster, I often found myself quoting Randal by saying, "I don't watch movies."
Clerks pertains to all retail though, even at Apple I get people who count cartons of eggs (try on EVERY Incase Slider Case to find the PERFECT plastic mold)

Being in an unincorporated area, writing a speeding ticket would require a big enough idiot to actually pass me while I am doing the speed limit or above. (It has happened.)
New to the forum here BUT, work nights in a very busy ER and sometimes in the ICU as a tech, also in nursing school full time, about a year to go. Got an undergrad degree, did the corporate world thing for a while and hated it so about 3 yrs ago I went to work in the ER and started taking classes to get into nursing school and haven't looked back!
At smacky, most of the ER docs that I work with have Iphones, BB's, and a few with old Palm Treo's. The Iphones are definitely the majority though. No droids.
As yet nobody's come in and admitted to doing nothing for a living.
Gads, all Eris users work? But it's such an inexpensive phone.
Resurrecting this thread like Jesus. But you never mentioned what you did. We didn't forget. Something to do with a clinic or a hospital is what it seems.
The HTC Droid Eris launched for Verizon Wireless on November 6th in part as the carrier's first Android Phone. However it was overshadowed by the other member of the inaugural Verizon Droid duo - the Motorola Droid. The Droid Eris might look fa... Read More
