I got curious thinking about the battery life on the Eris and how often people use it. Then I got to wondering, how different jobs require different cell phone usage. So I was just curious, what are you guys? Still in school, retired, engineers, CEOs, what? Go ahead and put what school you went to (if any) because I've gotten a lot of WDEs back after people see my sig and I'm curious to see if there's anyone else out that.
Co-Manager at a Sonic Drive-In. Too busy to really use my Eris..so battery life last for quite a while, unless I forget to charge the night before. Lol
I run cameras in the studio and edit news footage for a local abc affiliate in Michigan. Trying to launch my own show or get hired on as a reporter. I love my Eris, and have used video from it in a newscast once already. :-)
Graduated from a private liberal arts college nobody has ever heard of.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, Sonic....... My second favorite burger to Whataburger. (sorry) I may be in MN, but I grew up in TX
We just started getting Sonics up here, but none of them are close to me, and She Who Must Be Obeyed won't believe that it's woth driving an hour for a burger....
Scientist is the title on my card. I play with chemicals in the lab essentially.
I mainly use my Eris to listen to NPR with the Listen app jacked into my car radio into work, occasionally take a video clip of experiments to send to clients (have to convert it though), and access work e-mail through exchange when I'm off site. Most times I have a computer near by if I need to search for patents or for a chemical. The texting is just something I do to keep in touch with my wife & kids while I'm at work. If I heavily use my Eris that day I keep an extra wall charger at my desk.

High school Psychology & Economics teacher. My phone sits in airplane mode most of the day because there's an extremely low signal in my classroom. I can connect to wifi, but the filtering system still blocks apps like Facebook.
Materials and Logistics ( Storekeeper) : For an Offshore Drilling Company. Don't have to worry about battery life for 2 weeks out of the month, it seldom gets used while I'm Offshore.

Remember when the Sonics used to have those cool plastic mermaids, monkeys and stuff that they'd hang on the side of the cup??
BTW, computer programmer (to make money) and own a hammock store (to lose it).

Hell yeah it's worth Driving an hour for some Sonic! I can't stand it though, since I have to eat it every single day! But at least I get free food! Bwuahhahah!
Wow, that's crazy how many different professions there are on this forum alone.
I would have posted it in the Lounge or something, but I don't care about everyone, just the ones we see on here consistently. Just thought I'd clarify.
Police Officer... always use my phone. The extra google voice number is helpful so dirtbags don't have my real number when I call them... the google voice phone number toggle switch is the best.. camera is ok, I liked the dare's camera the best so far. I stream Pandora occasionally and if I'm bored I'll play fishin' 2 go..

Law enforcement here. I use my phone to call the dispatchers and ask why I am being sent to a house because a 9 year old is throwing things and the parents don't know what to do. Maybe it's a California thing.
I am a Mac Specialist at the Apple Store here in nyc. Member of the Droid Resistence...I often show off my phone to customers and have to explain myself everytime they go, "*gasp* you work for apple and they don't give you an iPhone." I then proceed to laugh. My phone is on wi-fi while there, so i get pretty good battery use out of it.
I'm a film/video producer as well and have a small production company I'm starting up; Throwdown Entertainment. I love using my Eris on set for the GPS and Places directory. BEST tool for Production. Astrid is nice too keeping me on task.

Full time student, ITT Tech (Computer Network Systems). Was going to go into security but thinking about changing to programming because I think it would be more fun. Looking to transfer to Maryland or Johns Hopkins.
Work at a Verizon premium retailer while I am in school and until I can land a job in IT.
If I am at work, I am on my phone all day. If I am at school I dont really use it too much. I average about a full day (7am-10 11pm) if I have classes, and about half a day if I'm at work.

The HTC Droid Eris launched for Verizon Wireless on November 6th in part as the carrier's first Android Phone. However it was overshadowed by the other member of the inaugural Verizon Droid duo - the Motorola Droid. The Droid Eris might look fa... Read More
