"you're still here eh? figured since you love the iphone so much you would deal with the shitty coverage to have one... im sure your droid doesnt get that great of service from the inside of steve jobs' ass anyway"

My DH has an EnV3 as he doesnt want to pay for a data plan (and thanks to other non-Android forums we were able to get it the day before the ridiculous 9.99 mandatory data plan on almost every decent phone went into effect). BUT if we had that situation, I would guarantee you his phone would get the update before mine. And it would piss me off because I am the tech-ho of the family
San Diego, still no OTA I've been good about waiting so far, but now that I'm seeing all these people talk about how snappy their phone is once they finally got the OTA, I'm sooo impatient! I'm friggin' dreaming that I wake up and my phone is beeping, waiting for me to update. Only to really wake up and it's just the same ol' screen Pretty sad I know...
and I dont want to manually do it. I'm weird; I want the "official" OTA. I get poor signal at my house so I even have wifi and 3G on..just in case.
dude i know how you feel. glad to see im not alone lol
Just remember everyone... it really is random, has nothing to do with your location. Hence why some with two phones in a household got an update while the other didn't.
Still waiting in Southeast Ohio... for me, it's getting surprisingly easier to wait. I'm just glad to see more and more people on the forum getting it, knowing it'll be on my phone soon.
9 More Days...

Apparently. My son got his last night, and mine did not show up yet. C'est la vie.
Im from Pittsburgh and I got it last night. Try doing this code *#*#checkin#*#* type that into your dialer but do not hit call. If done right it will say checkin success. Then after I did that it prompted me I had an update.
I'm at the point where I just don't care about the OTA. I'm on leak v3 and from what I've heard, the OTA is almost the same. If there were major improvements, I'd be excited, but OTA isn't bringing anything so special to the leakers.

*#*#checkin#*#* is to check updates for apps, not the OTA. It's just a coincidence that it found your OTA update... you were probably already selected to get OTA before you dialed checkin. I've only heard of this coincidence with one other member here, everyone else just gets a success notification or app updates

I'm one wife got it at 9:54 I still have seen nothing.
checkin doesn't do anything as far as getting the OTA update. it works for finding app updates only.. Why not just Manually update with the links given, it's the exact same thing as getting the "official" OTA update you just don't have to wait for verizon.. either way you are 100% ending up with the 50% time without signal bug.. and depending on your phones hardware the audio bug. so go for it. now that the official verision is released leakers or OTA can get warranty replacements.
I didnt say that checkin would give you guys the update. I am just telling you what happened in the seconds before I got prompted I had an update, and that is what I did was do checkin then it popped up. Just saying lol
It's funny how before the update was rolling out I was fine with 1.5. Now the roll out has started I'm on pins and needles and I keep checking my phone every 10 min. LOL
I do have a couple of questions though. I know 9000 people a day get the OTA. Does that mean once the 9000 people dload the ota that we have to wait until the next day before they roll out the next 9000? And if so, is it always rolled out in the middle of the night?
Tried the checkin and got excited for a second when I got notification that there was an update available right after the checkin success notification. But it was just app updates. Still waiting in Phoenix, AZ.

You know, people keep saying this, but I think it's possible that checkin does also ping the update servers as well. It's just that if your phone is not selected for an update, it will not get it. If it is, perhaps checkin also starts the update process.

did the checkin thing on my 2.1v3 Eris and no luck...did it on my wife's stock 1.5 Eris and....Success! downloading the 77.7mb file as I type this. hope it doesn't wipe too much off the phone, then she'll be slightly pissed when she wakes up in the morning.

Just did exactly this and got it!!! Au revoir, 1.5!
I am assuming the official ota that i downloaded the other day from these forums is just v3 so im still waiting for my real ota alert since what I have is a fraud for sure.
