Kind of out of luck right now. Looking to grab an Incredible 2 and kind of shocked at the lack of availability of quality screen protectors from my favorite brands. Seidio has them, but I wouldn't touch Seidio if my life depended on it.
Of my favorites, I can't find any for the DI2 from SGP or Realook. Martin Fields has it, and I love their quality, but I'm not paying $50 for a 2-pack ($33, plus HK shipping).
This isn't a deal breaker, because I don't mind getting the cheap Verizon 3-pack to hold me over until the good ones are released. Just wanted to see if anyone had seen an SGP or Realook for it yet. Realook is the tough one as they either don't have their own website, or they are just well hidden.
Appreciate the links. Unbelievable that I missed that 2nd thread with a search. I need to do better with search terms.
So, basically same situation, Seidio is the only one available, and I don't want that. I'll either get the cheapo and wait for an SGP/Realook, or I'll spend the extra on an MF. We'll see.
Spgstore is about 30 min up the highway from me. I'm going to email them and see if they need a phone for a template. Hopefully that will get the ball rolling. Spg screen protectors are my personal fav
Just curious but, why don't you like the Seidio? I've never used them but based on other's experience on here I was contemplating getting one.
Seidio is a poor company in my experience. They inflate the battery life in their claims. Their first generation claims often leave scratches in the phones (Evo/Incredible users got this on the surface cases), or they peel (Evo/Incredible active users). Seidio reps routinely denied both issues (even on this very forum) before finally coming clean and saying that they fixed the issues that they had previously denied existed. On top of that, those with scratched phones were left out to dry.
Their screen protectors are nearly as good as SGP/Realook, so I wouldn't mind settling for them if needed. However, I just won't send money to that company anymore.
I got the dinc2 yesterday from fed ex and then swung by vzw to pick up some screen protectors. To my surprise it only covers the viewing screen and not the whole screen. Being ocd I want the whole screen protected lol. I loved SGP on my droid x so I email SGP and they will have some within 2 weeks. Are there any on the market right now that cover the whole screen?
Just a heads up, but it looks like SGP is readying their screen protector for the Incredible 2. There's a section for the Inc 2 on their website, but no product so far...
its been like that for a week now.. hopefully they actually put them out. i'm happy with mine from boxwave but i always have to try out the new things haha so i will end up buying one from sgp probably.
Sweet, I just ordered one. The one I got from Verizon already got scratches on it, and it's only been a month!
BTW I got the Ultra Fine one. As for SGP, the only screen protectors I've ever used were the generic ones by Verizon, ZAGG, and SGP. And ever since I discovered SGP, I never looked back. Zagg was great, but I preferred SGP's clear look over Zagg's orange peel texture.

Heh, and I used both films too.. I really messed up the first one, so in my frustration I just threw it away. My second (and final) attempt was a success!
So I got the Ultra Fine screen from SGP. I had their Ultra Crystal on my Droid X, and loved it. Now this Ultra Fine does 2 things for me over the Ultra Crystal:
1) The anti-fingerprint is pretty good. I didn't sweaty my hands and purposely try and smudge this thing, but after a full days usage, I can't see any fingerprints on it.
2) They accomplish the anti-glare feature by giving the screen a matte look. The matte look does make the screen a bit fuzzy, but I watched a couple youtube videos on it and I didn't notice.. So when it comes to whether the matte look will bother you or not, YMMV..
Unlike the generic Verizon brand which only covered the rectangle LCD screen, this covers the entire glass with about a 1mm clearance around the edges. There's only one cutout and it's for the front-facing camera. I thought I read on the Incredible S forum that they have screen protectors that have cutouts for the camera and the light sensors. I haven't noticed any issues with the brightness so maybe SGP got it right.
Anyways, the Ultra Fine protector reduces the 2 things that have bothered me the past month: fingerprints and high glare. I do sacrifice a bit of screen clarity, but in practical use, it doesn't affect me.
Hmm, I should add that the Ultra Fine protector adds a rainbow effect to white backgrounds. I was reading twitter and I could see rainbow speckles against the white background. I guess that's a side effect of the matte finish. I don't remember seeing such rainbow effects with the Ultra Crystal cover I had on my Droid X.
Just installed the SGP Ultra Crystal Clear film. Looks pretty good. Install was pretty easy. The package comes with 2 films. Just FYI, the film does not have a cut out on the front camera. The film covers the camera. But I didn't notice any difference in the front camera picture quality. Overall, I'm pleased with this film.
I'm planning on getting the screen protectors that VZW carries once my DInc2 arrives on Wednesday. I've used their screen protectors on my Eris since December 2009 (replaced the first screen over 1 year into its life when an errant ember from a camp fire floated its way to the Eris' screen and melted a little bubble in it). They go on easy. No bubbles (if you're careful when putting it on). No rainbow effect. No negative impact on the touch screen. They do show fingerprints like a b**ch, though.
Just to weigh in on the earlier Seidio comments... I've had no problems with their products. Their 1750mAh extended battery made a significant difference in my Eris' life, and their Innocase 2 was an awesome case that did NOT scratch up my phone at all. ... no experience with their screen covers though.
Installed the SGP Ultra Crystal Clear film and I gotta say, I love it. Easy to put on, nice finish and high quality. I am happy for the price I paid to get it.
Is a screen protector even necessary? Just got my Inc 2 the other day but didn't buy any protectors. I had my Eris for a little over a year and never used a screen protector and it never got scratched up.

Theoretically no, since there's supposedly Gorilla glass in here. That said, I'm not very trusting..
empire brand screen defender off eBay are decent and cheap if you are just looking to put something on for now to protect your screeen, they do have the rainbow effect but you can't tell when the screen is on. that's what I have now,but I am looking for something better.

i never use them. there a waste of time and energy, the screen protectors that is, crap gets under the corners form ur pocket too which i dont like. thats just my feelings and opinion. i used to be anal about protecting the device. but i am gental and i dont trash them even using them naked without anything. i used to put entire clear protectors/best skins ever/zagg on all my devices but eff it now its just a waste of time and money.... thats just my opinion.
and this phone does not have gorilla glass, i called htc and asked.
The HTC DROID Incredible 2 launched on April 28th and does well enough to follow the original up. It's not going to be a must-have device for those who own and enjoy the original, but folks new to the DROID party who want an HTC phone shouldn... Read More
