Default Facebook Notifications won't go away

Normally when you tap a notification in the notifications panel it opens the app and them the notification icon goes away. This isn't happening on my wife's Incredicle 2 for FB noticiations of photo uploads. When you tap, it does take you to the uploaded photo, but the icon remains in the notificaion panel. Yes, we could tap the "clear" key, but there are other notifications she doesn't want to clear away. Any ideas?
