Default Phone Dialer no Longer coming up

Hey All,

So everytime i press the Phone button to dial a number, the only thing that happens is the word "phone" pops up and then goes away. Also, all the names in text messages are gone, and only the number shows up now. I can find names in "people' but thats it. I have restarted several times, and it hasn't changed a thing.

Anyone know whats going on?

Factory Reset can be found in Settings>SD & phone storage>Factory data reset

Your contacts should be backed up to your gmail account if you sync to it. Music is on your SD card and is safe (can never hurt to do a backup to your PC). If you aren't rooted, an app list can be backed up to "appbrain" which is in the market, or you can just right them down to re-load them. Supposedly Google backs up your list of apps and will restore them after the reset, but that has only worked sporadically for me (swapping ROMs, so it might not be supported across the board). You can also try "My Backup" or whatever it is that VZ includes on the phone.
