Notsure ActiveSync broken in Android 2.3.3?

I've got a strange problem with ActiveSync (Exchange 2007) on an HTC Droid Incredible 2 that I'm hoping someone here may have experienced and/or solved. (I did some google'ing but was unable to find anyone having this exact problem.)

This is a Verizon CDMA phone so while I'm actually making a call, all data stops. (As expected.)

When I end the call... the data connection is available again and the phone is supposed to get all the email that came in while you were on the call.

What's actually happening for me, is any email that comes in while I'm on the phone is simply not delivered to the phone, but I get new email that comes in while I'm not making a call.

We have a few of these phones here, and none of them seem to have this problem. When I try to reproduce the behavior on another identical phone connected to the same exchange server/etc... I make a call, send a bunch of emails to myself from gmail or something and they all show up when I hang up as expected.

They're all Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 2 and unless someone has messed with one (still looking into this) they should all be Android 2.2.1, and set to push mail.

Any ideas?

Update:

The phones that seem to work fine are Android 2.2.1, and the phone that loses any email that comes in while making a phone call is Android 2.3.3

Further, if I use 'TouchDown' instead of the built in mail app, I can get the missing emails... so I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the built in Mail app/Android 2.3.3.

(I will update only the title in the main post.)

I'm hoping for something along the lines of 'fixed in x.x.x' or at least confirmed by someone else...

I had various odd issues with Exchange in the stock email app. All were solved by using TouchDown. To be honest, I didn't love TD at first, but I do now. Much more powerful than the stock email app. Add that to the fact that it solved all my issues and it was a no-brainer.

There have been two updates since 2.3.3. Have you considered updating to the latest firmware?
