Default Any battery options?

My battery might be toast so i have been looking around. I LOVE the Seidio 3500 (had it on my OG dInc) but i dont want to put another $60 into this phone

This is essentially a loaner until something badass comes out (i.e. htc One X)

Anyhow, wondering what are my options besides walking into VZW and getting stock battery. Do they sell an extended battery that fits in stock case?

or any battery from a different phone work in here?

Thanks

I think the battery from a desire Z (t mobile G2) or an Evo 4G will fit in Dinc2... I'll check later and get back with you.

I only read a couple articles and dont really have a clear picture. But i think i read there will be 2 versions
1 will have the 4+1 core
the other will have a dual core, but have LTE

Id really like the 4+1 because ic an vouch for the INSANE battery life, as seen on my TF201 with that processor (standby basically uses nothing!)

but either way, i need a phone and im waiting on the "transformer prime" of phones. I hope the One X is it!!

EDIT, crazy steroid specs:

By the way, the only ones that fit are the ones I mentioned earlier from the 2 other phones.

I have the Mugen Power 1800mAh battery and I like it. It fits in the phone with the stock battery door, and lasts about 25% longer than the stock battery.

Ahh i see it here for $45
[HLI-DesireZSL] Buy Mugen Power 1800mAh Extended Battery for HTC Desire Z / T-Mobile G2 / HTC Incredible S / Droid Incredible 2

I guess better than $60, and not a lot more than stock would be.

hmmm and your feedback is good for the brand? I've never heard of them

I got it on eBay for $40 shipped. So far it has been excellent. Seller was nakedcellphone, and I highly recommend him.

Did you have to like peel off the sticker on the battery to "make" it fit?

Or did it fit perfect with the sticker on?

I use the chichitek 1800 off Ebay and am very happy with it, though I did have to remove the sticker to get the perfect fit. I think it was like 35 bucks for two batteries and a charger.

EDIT:
CHICHITEC 1900mAh Batteries not 1800 and Amazon, not Ebay.

I bought the oem extended battery from Verizon and recently I was looking for extra batteries for my trip to Europe (use on plane)

I found the whole kit (battery and cover) oem on Ebay for like 25.. I bought like 4 oem extended batteries for 7 bucks a piece and they last just as long as the one I bought at VZW.. So search on Ebay and look through ratings of the same product sold.

The sticker comes off like any other. Peeled

A little rubbing alcohol needed to get the sticky off after the sticker.

I just convinced myself that my battery is 7 months old and it's time for a new one.
So, I just got the Mugen 1800mAh slim extended.

Don't forget it may take a while to "break in" the battery and the stats. Speaking of which, you should probably wipe battery stats once it is fully charged before you start using it. Let it drain completely once and recharge fully before powering back on. Then after a couple use cycles, you will get a pretty good idea of the battery life.

I hear you, TAR and you're 100% right! Trust me i know the routine haha!

I just dont care a lot about this, and dont intend on keeping this device for more than a year at the very most. If the One X was hitting VZW id be on that, but now ill wait and see the next big thing.

In the meantime my old battery was going from 100% - 30% twice daily!! Not cool. For $20 this will be better, I am sure.

You've been great help, thanks!!

How do you wipe battery stats?
Is that something only for root users?
I got my mugen 1800mAh on the way...
Right now I am blinking at the end of everyday in the 15-18 hour frame... It used to be 22-to 24+.

Jeez 15-18 is still pretty awesome!! On my original Incredible i got the Seidio 3500 extended ... as much as i use my phone, this thing would last 72 hours average. It was unreal!!

Combine that battery with ICS and 4+1 core, and i would bet money on 150+ hours uptime. The processor management on ICS is amazing, and the 5th core on the tegra3 is just unreal in standby.

Cannot effing wait!!

Incredibly to say in the least, no, no root here...
I have no machine of my own to do it on.
Lol, just had to use a machine on the DL to update and configure my Jawbone era...LOL
How do you live without a computer? I would die.

to be honest this phone is good even without root. But you are missing out on a lot. Besides the usual "root only" features like backing up, certain apps, etc .. you get to load new ROM's that change the experience entirely!

Its literally night and day.

Do you have a temp phone? id say mail me your phone ill root it for you and send back ha

I got my mugen 1800mAh on the way...
Right now I am blinking at the end of everyday in the 15-18 hour frame... It used to be 22-to 24+.
Sorry my root-virgin friend, wiping is only for those who have soiled their phones with root access, the fallen.

That said, you should root.

Me either. I'm an addict.

I just like to give him a little flack for being so happy with the awesome phone we know the DInc2 to be regardless of root status.

Rooting isn't really necessary to enjoy the phone, it's just a perk for Android.

BTW ran it down to 1% on first discharge, took 10 hours of max brightness playing words with friends, and NFS shift. cant wait for this bish to break in, looks promising so far thanks again!

I haven't used my laptop since I used it to root my phone. I took it to the bar yesterday to use the wifi. 38 updates. It took me three hours.

We should see leaked test ROMs for ICS 3-6 months before the official release.

Discussion on HTC One-series etc moved to here.

Please restrict responses in this topic to the subject, as it makes life easier for anyone coming alone later looking for similar information about batteries.

Just an update, i would NOT buy this battery again. It is no better than the garbage stock battery i had. It appeared to be better, but then reality struck lol

these days i get to work and my battery is 50%-60% by 11am (unplugging it at 8:30am). I then have the thing sitting on the charger half the day because i need to have it >75% when i leave work, or it wont last my near 2hr trip home (streaming, games, reading, etc). I have brightness near 25% or so, gps on,

Admittedly im a "power user" but i don't care, that's why i bought an extended battery.

Next time ill need an even more extended, i suppose.

Sorry to hear it isn't enough for you. Let us know if you end up going for something else. I would be especially interested to see if you get something else that fits under the stock battery cover, how it works out for you compared to this one.
Mine added just enough juice to keep me happy. I did try one of the generic xtra large capacity batteries, but didn't like the look/feel, the signal sucked due to a really bad antenna in the door that came with it and it really didn't add enough life for the size.
Some people seem to really like the feel of the phone with an extended battery. Just make sure to get one of the ones from HTC.

Sounds like you need a job closer to home! Or a second battery.

Since he said that the 2 hours would consist of "streaming, games, reading, etc", I am guessing that he takes public transportation of some sort. At least, I hope it does....

Yeah, he needs a external charging dock so he can swap a full battery for a low one...
Then put the low one the charging dock.
