Default Randomly Rebooting

I am not rooted and on 2.3.3. I can't say that this phone is any better than the original Droid Incredible. The volume certainly is not, but it is a little smoother even with Sense. I really love the fact that the screen is 4", which I feel is my sweet spot.

The biggest problem I am having right now is that the phone randomly reboots for no reason whatsoever. I can't figure out if this is a hardware issue or a software issue. Either way, I have tried seeing if this is a persistent problem with this phone through this wonderful forum, but haven't found anything. Any help would be appreciated.

I should add the fact that it happens whether the phone is plugged in or not. I have only had the phone for 4 days now and have performed a factory reset and pulled the battery multiple times. None of which fixes the problem.

Possibly update your software to 2.3.4, that might eradicate it...

Menu> settings> software update> check new
Try to update.

Thanks for all your help. I did try 3 times to update to 2.3.4, but the phone did not allow me. In the end, I brought it back to Verizon where they tried and failed to update the software as well, so I got a new Incredible 2 and that worked just fine off the bat. It's been a day and now it seems all is well.
