Default Tethering app recommendation

Now that tethering is available at no extra charge I'm interested in trying it with my Inc2. Can you recommend an app that works well with it? I would use it with a Windows laptop.

I've been (wired) tethering at no charge with VZW HTC phones since early 2010 - first with an Eris, now with my DInc2; when was it NOT 'at no charge'?
I've used EasyTether and PDAnet; I've found them equally good.

I've used PDANet since my Q9c days but I don't use the laptop anymore. Barnacle is often mentioned.

+1 for PdaNet, but you have to buy the paid version if you want to use it for secure sites (https). It now has wired and wireless. I like wired since tethering sucks your battery and it charges whilst wired.

I still have barnacle on my phone too. Hasn't failed me yet.
Watch the temp on your phone (battery) if you're tethering much. You can overheat and damage your precious if you're not careful.

I don't see a paid version of PDANet anymore. It also does texts on your computer.

PdaNet -- USB Tether/Bluetooth DUN for Android

Is it just me, or is this site (android forums) acting funny?

The Buy button only shows up on the desktop version of the PDANet website. I'll call that a fail.
