From bbeelzebub's phone case popping up on Amazon topic in the Incredible 4 forum...

Man, we need some fresh ones...
That's not necessarily the phone, those companies just use generic phones as placeholders until the actual phone is released....

The other thing that makes these photos seem fake is the GPS icon in the status bar, every phone running ICS that I've seen, has the GPS icon removed, whether GPS is on or off. (Including the HTC one series with sense 4.0) So I'm pretty sure that the icon being removed is a system wide OS change made by Google for all phones running ICS.

(I realize I'm nitpicking photos, but every little detail counts when it comes to proving or disproving something, including the capacitive button topic)

So basically unless Incredible4G posts some undeniable proof that he/she has had access to the phone, all we still have is rumor to go by. And even if proof is posted, the phone may be a pre release model just for testing certain aspects of the phone(although I have no recollection of that ever happening before).
But we'll all find out on April 26th (which I think the most plausible info in this thread besides the hardware specs that have already been leaked for a while now.)

Yeah, that's what I meant, it only shows up when active, there isn't a static icon like in all other android releases.

Just want to say, again.... if any of you remember from when the Original Droid Incredible was released, things changed between when the phone was a tester for Verizon and when it was released.

Clockspeed and back cover were completely different from the dude that came on here and gave us pics, specs and info.

Incredible 4G might really be seeing the phone at work, but it could still be different too. (Although, it will' be minor things no doubt and not the sudden addition of a 4.7" SLCD2 Screen LOL )

Yup, I think that was the biggie. Some of the testers were clocked at 800Mghz too.... So here's hoping that 1.2 makes it's way up to a 1.5.

With the news that the Rezound will only be priced at $49 until 4/9, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that the Incredible 4G will have a 4.3 screen and will be priced no more than $200 for a new 2yr agreement. I want the larger screen, and over $200 will really break the bank.

Still haven't made up my mind about not buying the Rezound right now....

I'm sure this phone will be significantly slicker than the rezound. If not just in form factor. The rezound is a beast!

I've been really debating today if I want to splurge and just go in and get a Rezound. I really hate that the phone is a freakin' brick and that battery life sucks so bad and I'm really hopeful both of these things will be fixed on the Inc 4G, but damn that screen with a price of 49 bucks is tempting.

No, no.... I can wait...... no i can't... yes i can.....

I'm having the same problem :/ What's even worse is we don't even know the official specs of the Dinc4G, and when it will be released. It's all rumors for now. I held the Rezound in my hand and it felt way too thick for me, and if it has bad battery life that's a huge downer. But it's only 49$ which makes it so tempting now, especially since I might not even be able to afford the Dinc4G when it comes out even if its 199$. They'd be crazy to price it more than 199$ if the rumored specs are true. I'm really hoping for a 150$ price tag :P

I'm in the same boat on debating on the Rezound for $50 and with the rumor it may get ICS in the next week makes it more tempting. Currently I have the original Incredible and I still think the thing runs like a champ (granted it's running CM7.2). I've been ready to upgrade since January and have been debating on the Rezound since then however don't feel the need to upgrade since my area doesn't have 4G LTE yet (Binghamton, NY).

Some deciding factors that on this Incredible 4G that will make me wait it out a bit longer:
- Swappable microSD card (depending on the internal storage and if it doesn't have swappable memory will definitely make be decide on this or the Rezound as I store my music on my current 16gb card)
- Size 4.3" I can deal with but I've held an Incredible 2 and I thought the 4" was the perfect size however it seems larger is the going trend for newer phones.

Was trying to hold out for quad core phones but doubt that will be happening anytime soon.

I broke down and ordered a Rezound haha. Hopefully we'll get more Dinc 4G info or a release date within my 15 day return window

I think the Rezound is attractive...
Not enough info about the DInc4G to decide
Maybe I will wait untill april 8th to see if any news pops up lol

If there's any news, it won't be from Verizon. If they announce the DInc4G while the offer is still around, more people will be discouraged from taking advantage of the HTC Rezound discount. I really find it odd though how tightly they're keeping this device under lock. We really don't know anything official. Hopefully there's no release date delay, and it comes out on April 26th like the leaked documents said.

Official specs?
Official documented specs leaked from Verizon, was a few weeks I believe. I remember they accidentally left the test site open and we were able to see all the official release pages and documents.

And yes even if you order online, you can still go to any corporate store to return it.

Edit: actually April 14th:
http://phandroid.com/2010/04/14/official-verizon-staging-site-reveals-htc-incredible/

http://www.crn.com/news/client-devices/224400336/thats-incredible-new-htc-droid-specs-date-revealed.htm;jsessionid=Jg8xmpUVWyVKHruxY1jviA**.e cappj01

Before those specs leaked, the MP of the camera, internal storage space, and processor speed were all thought to be different.

Now this bring back all the memories of the old Bravo/Passion/Dragon forum confusion and how it was filled with Verizon peeps that all transitioned to the DINC forum, people stalking their local stores, warehouses and the mysterious "box".

I swore I'd never spend so much time choosing a phone again and going on a forum to discuss one.......... yet, here I am! Two years later and this time I'm doing it again. Only this time, now I've had a taste of the magic that is an HTC smartphone and just want more, more, more!

I personally don't think it's been hidden more than any other phone. Just don't think the hype is nearly as big around this phone. I think the Galaxy Nexus/rezound/razr stole a lot of the thunder and most people(who actually watch the smartphone market) have already upgraded.

There has been a decent amount of "leaks" just not many people are waiting for this phone to be released and aren't hunting and hounding the stores like people were for the original incredible. I still think its going to be an amazing phone and am definitely interested in the final specs but I've already invested my money in the GNex

Although I wouldn't be surprised if we are still more than a month away from its release.

I've seen nothing but April for release dates. But I agree that the hype around this phone won't hold a candle to the thunder we see for the phones listed above. It's unfortunate. The incredible line is an awesome line of phones and HTC has quickly become my favorite manufacturer.
I also have been spending more time watching for this phone than I have for anything else in a long time, even though I probably won't get it right away (unless I can steal my wife's upgrade I won't be due til early next year).

This.

I was thinking the same thing earlier today. Back when the DINC came out, Android wasn't nearly as popular as it is today. Pre the OG Droid, Android was a speck of marketshare really.... The Droid brought it mainstream and some of us wanting smartphones held out for something we liked better. (Remember all the ooohs and ahhhs over Sense in the beginning?) The Eris brought some people in with the fancy animations and sleak look, but some wanted the larger screen and more powerful insides. The DINC was just what a lot of people were looking for. A lot of those people that are up for upgrades already moved onto the high profile releases a few months back.

Unless the specs are changed from the rumors, I just don't see this phone living up to the hype. Yeah it's got the new processor, so the battery life with 4G will be better. Seems like that is the only spec that is better than the Rezound other than maybe the thickness. Based on the original Incredibles, I'm betting this phone will be pretty damn thin, but that also means it won't have a removable battery or SD card. Not that its a deal breaker, just something to think about.

I hope Verizon proves me wrong, but I also hope they reveal this thing asap. It must not be a Droid phone, because they usually have commercials for those months before they are released.

I would be *very* happy just getting the ICS update for my Dinc2 at this point...

I'm a little envious now that the new Evo One has leaked. The design is a lil' meh, but that gorgeous screen along with the rumored battery on it sure seems like it's a force to be reckoned with.

I wonder how much longer before Verizon gets a One X variant. I figure, it took them eleven months to get an evo equivalent before, so..... maybe next march? LOL

Then again, the original DINC was sorta a mini Evo with more storage.

Default Will Incredible 4G be global ready

I've seen a few blogs that suggest the Incredible 4G will also have a GSM radio. Any further hints as to whether the 4G will be global ready?

Everyone is speculating an S4 in the Inc 4G, but the above specs seem to indicate a Snapdragon MSM8660 (S3). Is there anything other than speculation to contradict this and show that the Inc 4G really has an S4?

This above link also has a picture of the Dinc4G as a Droid Incredible 2 if you look closely.

These two "suggest" the S4...

http://www.slashgear.com/droid-incredible-4g-spotted-for-verizon-19219102/
Then again, these are probably still "speculation", sorry, we have to wait for the official specs...
Hope not too much longer...

http://phandroid.com/2012/03/19/88511/

It might hit with a 1.5GHz dual core S4 with the internal LTE...

I'm spending too much time looking into this...

HTC Droid Incredible 4G get benchmarked (plus a mystery device) shows Adreno 225 clocked at 1.2GHz which doesn't add up according to S4 specs at Snapdragon (system on chip) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Maybe it was just under clocked for testing?

I hope official specs are released soon!

This is all I could find for now...

http://www.theunwired.net/?item=approval-gcf-approves-htc-adr6410lvw-htc-droid-incredible-4g-ready-for-prime-time

It's old too, so no new news about that aspect yet...
It probably will have the gsm radio and be "world capable."

I am really looking forward to it having sense 4.0...

I also don't think it likely. I would find it weird if they released with ICS and still didn't use the on screen 3-button layout. Not out of the realm of possibilities sure but not sure how i feel about it sticking with the 'old' way. The Incredible line of phones should be up on the cutting edge (imo of course)

Hopefully there's no release date delay, and it comes out on April 26th like the leaked documents said.
I think april 26th is the likely release date, it is a Incredible tradition (Inc 1 and Inc 2 released on that date)

Although I wouldn't be surprised if we are still more than a month away from its release.
I also already upgraded but am still very interested in this phone, possibly for my DW who is sporting my OG Inc

Well the Inc was first so it was teh Evo that was actually just a bigger Inc with less storage

Yea I'm a little under a year into my 2 year contract with Verizon with my Incredible 2.. I'll likely purchase the Inc 4G at full price. Any ideas what:
1) The full unsubsidized price will be?
2) Coming from the grandfathered, unlimited data plan for my Inc 2, can I buy the Inc4G outright, retain my unlimited data plan, and receive 4G?

tia...

Ok, I take back my 4 key layout speculation.
After watching the /gear hands on videos, that's too much integration to fudge up...
I should have the 3 key layout to function with sense 4.0.

I held off with the Thunderbolt and the Rezound but if this is real and the specs are rocking good I may just have to dive in. I think my Incredible is ready for retirement.

I thought that too, but once I saw the "mystery device's" name as VAE-WX I was thinking that might have been some kind of One X variant, like the new Evo. but I'm only judging that by the "E".

I can't remember which was which, but wasn't the Inc 2 VIVO and the Incredible S something else similiar? I wonder if those code names have more info in them then we think.
