On display although unceremoniously. Store rep said lot of people are waiting to see the S3 before deciding. I liked what I saw of it. Size is great, lighter than expected (not sure if good thing), camera seemed much sharper indoors than orig inc, still to me the best oe keyboard. I'll probably go for it by weekend.
So we went to the VZW store today to exchange my wife's Rezound that she got on the 23rd. We got it as a $100 off 3G to 4G promo. They retroactively honored that deal and I still get the $50 mail in rebate. Total out of my pocket today was just the $30 restocking fee. I paid $100 for the Rezound plus $30 upgrade fee. So in the end the DINC4 cost me $110 after all is said and done. Can't complain about that. AND because the original contract was signed before the 28th I stilll get to keep my unlimited data. Very happy customer here.
Everybody seemed to be doing something like that with the SG3... I never even thought about doing it with the Rezound... Good Call! glad it worked out for you. I should have done that... O Well

We waited and waited for the DINC4G. I had the $100 offer in hand and had to take advantage of it. She was coming from a DINC2 and likes Sense (as do I). She wasn't too pleased with the size of the Rezound (that is why were waiting for the DINC4G - same size as DINC2). Once we got the the store she literally spend a good 30 minutes with live display DINC4G in one hand, her Rezound in the other, trying to decide.
I'm happy that I ended up with the Rezound for $99 in March. It has more memory for apps than the DINC4G and it was the low memory error on the original DINC was what kept me from waiting to upgrade in the first place.
The only time the size bothers me is when I put it in my running belt and that's only because the OG DInc felt non-existent in it! The belt is still stable with the Rezound, I can just tell it's there.
I probably would've favored the DINC4G if it were available 4 months ago. Can't go wrong with either one though!

Oh you can go very, very wrong with the Rezound. I did. Twice. Would not recommend that phone to someone I hate and I'm an HTC fanboy.

Really? What went so wrong for you? The Rezound has been an equal or improved experience for me in virtually every way vs. my original DInc (which I loved before the low memory issues.)

If you're comparing it to the DInc (which I also used for a long time) it was a significant improvement. The phone really is a great phone. Nice screen. Nice performance. Extremely crappy battery life. That was my issue. The phone was dead by noon just about every day I had it. I hated being tethered to a charger all the time. This was coming from my Inc2 though which has amazing battery life. I can get 12-15 hours + with no problems at all. The same use on my Rezound lasted until noon. My Inc2 can last the entire weekend on a charge with light use. It'll be at 30-40% on Sunday night.

Yup, friend of mine has the Rezound and his was dead by noon as well. He now has the extended battery and now he might as well be carrying this:
I've had the phone a full day and am really pleased with it so far. As in an earlier comment, this phone is getting really poor marketing, and getting beat up really badly due to its comparisons with the One series and being overshadowed from the hype of the Galaxy S3.
So far I'm really enjoying Sense 4.0, and I've gotten over 20Mbps on the 4G connection. The size is perfect for me in my opinion, as I'm coming for the original Dinc. I haven't had any problems with the battery so far, but time will tell. I really only use my smartphone for Facebook/texting/on-board music/ESPN and the occasional youtube video.
Hopefully the phone sells well, and perhaps your average customer might shy away from a 5 inch screen phone.

What phone were you using before and what kind of battery life did you get?
I normally got a full day on my original Dinc, with gps and wifi off, typical day is spending a half hour to an hour on ESPN during lunch, sending and receiving a few dozen texts, and facebooking for an hour or so a day. The dinc 4g is keeping up the same way so far despite the 4g lte connection.

My only gripe about my DInc was my battery life. It was dead around lunch time too with my usuage and I just got used to being tied to a charger all the time if I was going to use it the way I wanted to use it. Then I switched to the DInc2 and found that I didn't have to do that any more. I take it off the charger in the morning and put it on the charger when I go to bed and it stays a live in the meantime. That's all I really want. Unless I start seeing some reviews saying this has absolutely horrible battery life, I'll probably pick it up at some point in the next few months.

I have the OG DINC, I can easily get 2 days between charges. I just bought another Seidio 1750, the first one started to go after about a year and a half. Even on the stock battery I was getting close to 2 days. I have wifi at home and at my office so it helps.

No clue how you get anything close to that unless you are doing something silly like turning background data off.

I can't believe it! Is Verizon trying NOT to sell this phone?! Not on display, obviously uneducated sales rep, what else?
I educated him a little on the phone and told him as a customer I was very disappointed in the way their store and Verizon in general is handling this phone.
I really don't feel like VZ is giving HTC a fair shake. I think anyone who likes the HTC brand ought to send an email to HTC telling them how dissapointed we are about how this phone is being PR'd and released.
Must say I agree. Even the Rezound seemed to slip through the cracks. VZW seemed to not even care to sell it. Its all about the Razr, or the Nexus, or the SG3.... Did someone at HTC sleep with VZW CEO daughter?
Don't laugh, my first phone was an updated version of that same one (mine had a thinner flip and TWO memory dial buttons). One of my coworkers had that exact one in the pic, I used to give him crap cuz he didn't have the memory dial buttons.
Another coworker had one like it without the flip, & my boss was using the classic brick, you know the one that Zack Morris had on Saved By the Bell? He really like it because he had an antenna screwed into the roof of the service van, with a cable & connector inside. So all he had to do was unscrew the rubber duck antenna from the brick & screw the external antenna to it for better signal. His phone was already transmitting at 3 watts (most today are at .25 watts).
We've come quite a way haven't we?

I actually went to the Bethesda store to mess around with it and thought it was funny that they had a small Incredible ad on the kiosk when you first enter the store in the center, but yet they had a moto phone attached to the ad and the Inc4 was off to the side minus any ads...weird.
I enjoyed the phone....compared it to my original Inc, and while it has a bigger screen, the form factor was almost exactly the same...I might have to snag this one....hate the new larger phones...

Verizon reps push the Razr Maxx so much it's almost as if they get a greater cut if they get you on this phone. There is something weird cause on a number of occasions I have called Verizon they always say, I see you have an upgrade available, might I suggest the Razr Maxx, it's kinda scary, cause it almost makes you not want it just because of that. They don't even give the other phones any chance with the consumers.
I just bought it last night for my girlfriend who did not want a phone larger than 4". They had a display phone at the Verizon store we went to, however, the salesman did not quite have all of the logistics of the phone down.
I have to say, it is an awesome phone! I love ICS! But I am having troubles with Sense 4.0. Did they do away with the Facebook for HTC Sense app? The contacts aren't all syncing with facebook photos. And I can't get the Profile to give the option of displaying her facebook picture either.
Also, there is a google account synced, but when we go into People and try to email someone, it asks us to add an account. how do I get it to recognize gmail as the default email?
I currently have an DInc2 so I am familiar with older versions of Sense, but this one is slightly different, and driving me crazy!

No I leave everything on. But like I said I'm on wifi most of the time (home & office) so that helps a lot. I have 3 email accts that sync all day (outlook, aol & gmail). I leave bluetooth & wifi on all the time. The biggest drain on any phone is searching for a signal. So if you're in an iffy signal area, being on wifi will save your battery. At my house if I'm not on wifi, my phone is constantly switching between 3g & 1x and the battery will drain fast.
I just had to pop on and say (randomly) that I too remember the days of the first Inc...the boards (291,000+) were just lit up, and things were so nuts....unmarked mystery boxes....speculation...stories about the big hatted texas sales rep (Did that really happen?) people sharing with one another when they actually received their deeply backordered phones so we would know when ours would finally show up...so much excitement...I spent so much damn time in those threads before the phone was even released, and while I have spent some time there afterwards, it was never quite the same...I have never experienced something that insane online, and I too wonder if we will ever see a phenomenon like that again...just a thought I had to get out. :-)
basically I'm waiting for my wife to decide when to finally upgrade her olde tymey ENV 2 before I get a new phone, but the Inc4G will probably be it...but getting rid of this Inc will be a sad moment for me, no matter how cool the Inc4G is...I must say, having seen the 4 in person, I was pretty excited that the new phone wasn't enormous. The OG Inc is the perfect size for me.

You should have 2 apps. Gmail and email. If Gmail is synced it will be on the Gmail app not email.
Go to accounts under settings and see if you can sync facebook account there.
