Angry HTC Incredible 4G LTE - Frustrating GPS menu

Hi everyone, I hope someone can help me!
So I recently got the Incredible 4G LTE and I'm having such a frustrating experience with the navigation (GPS app). It works just fine, no problems connecting or anything... it's the menu!
The Incredible 4G doesn't have a dedicated menu button, so for most windows we have to rely on the 3 vertical dots either at the top-right corner of the screen or the bottom. But when I use the navigation... it's not anywhere. I can't exit out of my GPS, I can't look up layers, or mute/unmute it. Last night, as I was already frustrated from being lost and not being able to exit it out of it (or set destination), I saw the mute/unmute speaker appear in the bottom-right corner. Was I able to make reappear when I wanted to use it again? You bet I didn't. When I almost made it home, I finally saw the 3 vertical menu dots at the bottom of the screen but today I can't for the life of me make them appear on my screen. I'm super frustrated , any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forums, arashel!

Unfortunately I'm not too familiar with the htc inc 4g but let me move this thread to the device subforum. Hopefully your fellow Inc 4g can help you.

Just hit the back button to exit maps. You should notice that the GPS icon disappears, if you were using it for location.

Yeah I was able to figure that out. But I'm mostly concerned about the menu... mute/unmute, set destination, traffic layers, for example. The only thing I can find every time is the alternate route button (at least). Gosh, I miss the menu button

I don't know of a mute/unmute (can use the volume rocker), but the rest of the buttons you describe are on my screen. Perhaps go through your settings? One of the strange things I've noticed is that the buttons randomly show up on the top or bottom, but usually on the bottom.

Maybe I'm confused.... You mean while using Google Nav, you can't find the menu?

I don't have that

Edit: Here are 2 screenshots of what I see when Google Navigation is open and the only "menu" I have access to (when tapping on the remaining time to destination)
