Not interested in rooting this phone. It works just fine for me the way it is. The only issue I have is the creaky back cover which rooting won't fix

Because no one bought it and even those of us who do have it tolerate it just enough and we can't be bothered to care about doing anything with it besides waiting for something else to come along so we can finally replace it.

That's a bit harsh. If it had a slightly larger screen (4.3-4.5"), I would be extremely happy with it. It's a pretty solid phone.

Why did you buy it if you dislike it so? This is a very good phone especially now with root and s-off being an option which we all know rooting can turn a phone into much more than what the inc4g was before we could leave the restrictions of stock which even before root on stock it is a very solid phone. Sorry this phone may not be a big device or as great as some of the high end new phones but it is far far better than a huge selection of phones and I'm sure many people would love to own the inc4g and not bitch bout it.

Do you know how a phone is going to act before you buy it? doubt it...after owning it for months it is a solid phone (i dont hate it) but next time i will research a little more and get something better is all i'm saying. Many people feel this way that's why this phone isn't on the top of any lists as a great phone.

Lets get this forum goin' then!

I'm still trying to figure out how to use the Droid Incredible 4G LTE. I switched services from AT&T to Verizon. With AT&T I had an Motorola Atrix 2. I'm so used to using the Motorola...

While the creaky back is disappointing, it isn't terribly noticeable with a case. The phone size is perfect for what I want. I don't want a phablet. Battery life is great, if runs smoothly and the 4g speed is outstanding. With s-off & root, it is even better with just a few tweaks (remove Wi-Fi nag, three button mod, and ability to put custom ringtones in system folders). Plus, now we can use great root only apps including Wi-Fi tether, Titanium Backup, LBE, Root Explorer, etc.

Wow so I saw two other posters just on this thread that have the creaky back cover problem too... Mine is getting worse by the day, even with small pieces of tape shoved in for padding LOL... It ticks me off for HTC to say that a creaky back cover is normal. Riiiight. Between that and the stock email app that refuses to sync with gmail, and Verizon's cocky service, I am definitely not thrilled with my experience. But, I got this phone because it's the perfect size and has good specs, and other than the RAZR M it's still pretty much the only decent smaller option.

Changing the topic, what is this S-OFF tweak I'm reading about? I'm a n00b to r00t so please bear with me.

S(ecurity)-off allows you to flash anything. Even ROMs that will brick your phone. You want it.

Well, to me it is a great phone. Runs smooth as butter. I didn't want a big screen so it came down to the inc 4 and razr m. I picked the inc4 because of the display, camera, beats audio, and the overall feel of the phone. I couldn't be happier with it.

Thus far I'm happy with the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE. I've had the phone for a week now and I love the HTC. Although I'm not a happy camper that I switched over to Verizon from AT&T.

yep - i keep a case on mine so i've never noticed a squeeky cover if i have one or not.

i'm with you - this is a great phone, runs great, has great specs, perfect size (i do not want anything larger), and now that we have s-off and root any tweaks or mods you want should be available.

i guess the masses like their large phones... :dunno:

Too late, the description panel at the bottom of the page states it all. It still says the inc4glte is still a rumored device. No love.

The phone is too reliable. If people had more problems with it then we would see a lot more posting.

I still haven't rooted mine. The memory management is too aggressive so I probably will root one of these days.

Gaining S-OFF was a turning point for me and this phone. I already liked it but having full control and of course ROMs has made it very delightful to own.

Its such an underrated device. I gave mine to my wife and am now using the DNA, and I have to say, when I use her phone I do miss it.

How is the DNA? Still contemplating getting one just not sure. I've been sitting on an upgrade since last july. I bought this full retail to keep unlimited which I do take full advantage of.

I like this phone. It's a replacement for my pos rezound. The glass on my rezound was comming off. On 4 different phones! Which messed with the prox sensor. This came with ics. And in my opinion the dinc4g is better.
This is my company phone so I can't root. If I brick it I will have a problem lol.

I check here every week or so, but like others said, I think it just works..! I have had no major issues. I did have to get one replaced, but it wasn't a big deal. It just works. I have no interest in rooting it, it already does what I want it to do, and does it very well. I looked at the DNA, but no way I could own a phone that big.

The DNA is fantastic. Screen is amazing. It's fast and battery life is fine. And it's not too big. While it's certainly bigger than the Inc4G, it doesn't feel much bigger. It's really well designed. I tried the RAZR MAXX HD between the Inc4G and the DNA, but hated it. Even though it's smaller than the DNA (slightly), ergonomically it sucked. The only thing I miss is the battery, but honestly, the DNA is fine in that area. I get comparable battery life to the Inc4G.

i had to get my thunderbolt warranty replaced for random rebooting and they sent me an incredible 4g lte. This phone is outstanding. I like the smaller size and the battery life is incredible. I really only browse reddit and usatoday, as well as use email and texting. My Tbolt would be 60% battery after 2 hours off the charger. The incredible is 60% after 10 hours with about 1.5 hours of usage.

it stays in LTE mode a lot more than my Tbolt. The Tbolt would constantly go to 3g or 1x, and be stuck in 1x forever, even when i'm in the middle of a 4g city.

This phone is pretty sweet

Totally agree. I can go 1.5 to 2 days on a charge but typically recharge each night while sleeping and the phone runs as my bedside clock and alarm. Also take note of how long it runs without needing a restart!
