There are a few threads here and on XDA that address this. Basically, HTC made it so that when you move an app to the SD card, the accompanying lib files go with it. For some apps, this frees up a ton of space in /data/data. For many users, this should help alleviate the problem. The problem isn't gone, it's just that they raised the ceiling on it. You'll still eventually hit it.
From what I understand, some of the worst offenders that cause this issue are:
-HTC Sense FB contact sync
-HTC Mail
-Netflix
If you used all three of those extensively, you probably ran into this issue at some point.
Thanks for the clear explication! To the point and with all the needed detail

Thank you for the highly amusing interlude of September 32nd. My first quick glance I went 'huh', then went back and read it - along with the confusion that ensued. Great!

Off topic but I got rid of Netflix app, stopped using HTC mail, and started using Friendster and have been low memory problem free for weeks. It had been a very persistent problem for me.
I would say no, not mid-week. I'm still looking to be right on my poll response where i said.... this coming monday
And what do i win if i'm right you ask? NOT A DAMN THING!! LOLOLOL
(someone owes me a lobster dinner, WITH lots of butter!)
According to AndroidCentral they are pushing out the Droid 2 update today. So, it is possible to see an update mid-week. I don't see them pushing the Droid 2 and Incredible updates at the same time though.

I would just like to say that this whole 'update' ordeal has really been an emotional roller coaster for me, and it has left me vulnerable and fragile. I don't think I can take another disappointment, HTC! I just want you to know that what happens to me next, either way, is on your hands.

I think I speak for many of us...
Don't forget Verizon is to blame just as much as HTC...LOL.
I think we need to start a support group....kinda like AA. We can call it UA (Updates Anonymous). I'll go first.....Hi, My name is Jim, I have an Incredible and I have been let down by this update process. I used to be in denial untill I realized I check this post numerous times a day to see if it started rolling out yet.

Hi, my name is Mark, and I bruised my thumb from hitting 'check for updates' too many times a day. It's been 2 Days, 6 hrs and 11 minutes since the last time I clicked... It's been one minute since the last time I clicked 'Check for updates.'

It looks like Verizon changed the PDF yet again. It is back to the older version which talks about Gingerbread, but has the newer build number (4.06.605.3). Still says "Coming Soon" though, so who knows when it will actually be released.

If the update doesn't come this month, you can start blaming HTC who tweeted it was coming in September
True dat!!
Is very important IMO that everyone remembers that. Was just reading the comments in phandroid article about the announcement of tbolt and inc getting GB and people were just going OFF.
I'm done with htc blah blah blah..... really... our phone hasn't even been available to purchase since what?? march?

Maybe the "social media manipulation team" has been watching this thread? They must have called the "marketing team".
Imagine that call:
Really, you need to put the OS bit back on the file.
That's what people are waiting for.
No we're not kidding.
Yes, it really is called Gingerbread.
No we're not kidding.
Update the file or we release the dingos.
Nevermind, just do it.

Hello, This is Jim....who is not affiliated with Verizon in any way (I just had to...LOL)...but I do have some good news from Verizon. I called VZW support today to activate a new phone on one of my other lines. I mentioned to the lady I was waiting for my little slice of Gingerbread for my Incredible. She did some checking and then told me the update was just approved yesterday. She didn't know if that meant VZW or HTC approved it...but that it WAS approved. She then checked back when Froyo came out the update was actually pushed within a week of that update being approved. So.......if this update is going the same route hopefully it should start being pushed within the next week.....barring any interference from lobsters, dingos, spidermonkeys or zombies.

Typically, when an update is approved it is pushed that following Monday/Tuesday (likely Tuesday, after Labor Day). However, there have been MANY cases of an update being approved, and then pulled last minute. So, while this is good news, let's not get our hopes up.
