gingerbread keyboard unrooted, how are people doing this?
I'm seeing posts about people with unrooted Incredible's installing the APK for the Gingerbread Keyboard, how are people getting this done? I've tried a few different APK's only to get "Application Not Installed". Does anyone mind sharing how they did those or even sharing the APK they used?

It is probably a apk file which you can install just like a market app. You have to have unknown sources checked under settings >applications.

I used this link... ttp://www.mediafire.com/?vb99fdtbctuy7x
Downloaded it to my computer, extracted it with 7 zip, get the apk out the unzipped system folder, its called singnkey.apk. Transfer it to your sd card, then install it with astro.

No, it isn't. I have it on SkyRaider 3.5 and nothing comes close to the newest version of Swype.

That would depend on whether one actually likes Swype or not (I do not). The Gingerbread keyboard is one of the best I've used (I still think Smart is probably the best, though) when it comes to standard keyboards.

The new keyboard is also included with the latest MIUI release. Its a pretty nice standard keyboard. That being said its no Swype, and I'll be going back to that today.

There is a link floating around, so you can go back to the original keyboard if you don't like the new 1
