Is there a app that tells you what speed the processor is running at? otherwise how exactly do we know it's running at 768Mhz was NKT told that or could someone be misinformed?
I would have to agree with Blackleaf...numbers aren't everything! Performance is everything and we've received confirmation that the phone performs on par with the N1.
Exactly...I've been waiting since October. I was eagerly awaiting the Droid and then I used it and well...meh. I've played around with the Eris and know people who have it and I would be perfectly okay with that phone...but not for 2 years. I wanted the power of the Droid but w/o the physical keyboard and w/sense UI....I essentially wanted an upgraded Eris. For me, the Incredible will be great. Would I still have waited all this time if I knew the wait would be THIS LONG? Maybe not. Part of me wishes I'd just gone Droid, rooted and overclocked to 970 and called it good.
Don't put too much emphasis on numbers. Most of the people who have had hands-on with this thing say it's blazing! But I guess some people have a need to run 100 apps simultaneously just for the hell of it or they're not satisfied.
Edit: ^^^Beat me to it!
Yea but ive seen many videos of people demoing Motorola Droid's and other Android phones saying OMG its so incredibly smooth when its clearly not. Ive seen comparison shots of the droid browser and iPhone browser and the guy saying there both very smooth when you can see the droid slightly shuddering and scrolling really fast. I have even seen videos of the N1 studdering. Numbers do matter and especially on this phone sense it runs Sense on top of stock android.
Hi everyone! Just discovered this place from a link at Engadget Cell Phones. thanks for the info and I think will definitely be getting this phone.
Quick somewhat off topic question: I have an LG Dare and I have this online game called Pool Pro Online 2 I got from the online store. Can you play this, or these kind of multi player games on a smart phone like an Incredible or Droid?
a few questions if you have time. i appreciate any feedback:
1) the black back does look alot more smooth, but can you confirm, is it the same type of back used on the eris feel-wise? (kinda sorta rubbery).
2) also, did the incredible have live wallpapers?
3) do you, or anybody else, know how fast the N1 runs at (full 1ghz? slightly underclocked?) so we know what to compare this 768mhz to.
4) does the apps menu have the rolodex/3D scrolling like the N1?
5) did you get a chance to check out the picture gallery setup? the one on the n1 is pretty nifty/3D like. is this similar?
6) how accurate/effective was the optical trackpad?
7) will you have any more opportunities to see/play with the phone in the near future?
thank you so much for your information and your patience to answer all questions thrown at you!

The iPhone has an 833 MHz processor but runs at 600 MHz (no overclocking allowed!). The Incredible will be faster.

That is what I am wondering too. I would like him to find the specs on the 3D graphics. This phone might have the QSD8672 chip which runs at 1.5GHZ but is a dual CPU. I am thinking half of that is 768mhz which might just be showing one side of the cpu. Just wishful thinking. The QSD8672 has this for graphics.Improved 3D graphics - up to 80M triangles/sec and 500M+ 3D pixels/sec and the QSD 8650 has High-performance 3D graphics – up to 22M triangles/sec and 133M 3D pixels/se

Thanks Animal! Interesting how they use pics from our site, but specs from elsewhere now. what is their elsewhere source I wonder? It hink it is pretty exciting though, if these specs come true.
THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT...NOW ITS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!
Update: The good thing about posting rumors is someone always calls you out on your mistakes. Apparently the Incredible is very near to release and several production models are floating around. You can still consider this a “rumor” but I’ve been told the RAM and ROM both received a significant boost. Early prototypes included only 256 MB RAM, but the latest revision has 1 GB RAM (just like the rumored Supersonic). I’ve also been told the CPU will do 1 GHz, but it throttles up and down just like every other Android phone.
Rumored specs of the HTC Incredible include:
768 MHz 1 GHz Snapdragon processor QSD8650
3.7 inch AMOLED screen WVGA resolution
512 MB ROM 6 GB ROM, 512 MB RAM 1 GB RAM
8 MP camera with dual LED flash and AF
Android 2.1 with Sense UI
Optical track pad
1300 mAh battery
Shipping with 8GB MicroSDHC card
FM Tuner
Dimensions: 117.5 mm (L) x 58.5 mm (w) x 11.9 mm (T)

Something seems off.... they go from 512MB ROM and changed it to 6GB ROM... ?
Yeah, saw that and thought it was very strange. I've been reading their site for a couple of months and seem like they know their stuff, but who knows.

cool... don't get me wrong, I'm happy about this. I just wanted internet disinformation to be accurate
I am with you on that, those specs that site is pushing out are unreal and by unreal, I mean I don't believe they are real. Can you imagine battery life on this thing if that were true?!?!

Android and Me is reporting that it will float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. Under 1 oz!
I know, I know, we aren't supposed to post false rumors, but if you can sense the sarcasm then I have a Doctor you can call.......I am just still in shock of their reports....but hopefully will eat my words.

NKT said it feels less than the N1 (4.59 oz) but I was hoping for a real #
