Yes...the wait is getting very old indeed! I am in need of a Family Plan when switching to Verizon so it's not exactly a cheap prospect to get the N1. With that said, after seeing the N1 in person it actually exceeded my expectations with regard to being attractive. I think I expected it to be black....but if you look closely it's more of a really dark champagne color...or darker gray. The Incredible looks ugly to me...but seems to be what I've been holding out for before jumping into the game. I would sure love for a June release date to be wrong as I made a promise to my wife...that we will have smart phones by the end of May. So...it looks like the N1 for both of us...and the price for two of them will really hurt.
Device(s): HTC DESIRE, no, HTC PASSION, no, HTC BRAVO, no, NEXUS ONE, nope, HTC INCREDIBLE, wait, HTC DESIRE,no

yup, good points. well i guess that means we'll all be waiting together!
i think ill be flat out pissed if thats what the incredible comes with. they might as well take my LG Venus put a racing stripe on it and rebrand that shit as the LG AMAZING. damn i mean come on that phone will be mediocre if thats what it is
I don't think I missed this, but when do people think the N1 will even come out?
I had read Spring, and technically spring runs from 3/21 to 6/21, so I don't think it is a given that it will be out much earlier than the Incredible even if that date is true.
Also, I don't think N1 will be eligible for upgrade or family plan, but that is just a gut feeling.
Who is Leo Laporte? Apparently those 3/23 VZV N1 rumors originated from him.
In fact @gruber, I predict that when the Nexus One becomes available on Verizon (3/23/2010?) even you will want one. 6:21 PM Jan 16th from web
well, then when the incredible comes out, i'll either sell the N1 or buy the incredible and keep the N1 as a back up.... I have 2 upgrades burning a hole in my pocket... we'll see...
i'll have to do some more investigating on the N1 interface... dont get me wrong, I think even with that potentially ugly back, I prefer the incredible, but the wait is getting old...
Even if you haven't had a phone for 2 years, upgrades don't collect; you only get 1.

no, I mean i have 2 lines that are both up for upgrades.. I only need a smartphone on 1 line. I buy a crap flip phone for the other... business line, etc.
Wow, June would be a complete failure on Verizon's part, but haven't they always been about being late to the game? The Droid seems to be the exception to the rule now, and not a change in direction. If the Incredible comes out in June, that'll be the end of 1H/Q2 2010, and seemingly a boatload of phones are due out in the first half of the year on other carriers. AT&T was supposed to be getting a number of Android phones by the end of June, probably the Bravo, N1, Legend, X10, and Droid/Milestone. Verizon? The Devour, Saygus Vphone and, if this report is true, the Incredible at the last minute. Ugh. At least we have the N1, and hopefully that'll be coming as early as rumored.
my main concern with these incredible specs that are shown is that it says it will have a 65k color tft. I would prefer to have amoled but if it IS tft it had better have 16million colors or it's a definite no go for me.

yeah ive gotta agree that TFT its a bummer if its true.
You will notice they have the N1 release in April and Incredible in June (as we know). I just hope the announcements this week in Barcelona from Verizon has both of these phones coming sooner!
As for N1 with a family plan on Verizon (as CameronCrazy mentioned), yesterday when I was speaking with Verizon, the manager there wouldn't give me much info about it, but did say he is fairly confident that it would be on a family plan and have more flexibility with servicing of the device than that with T-Mobile. His reason was that Apple keeps everything with the iPhone close to them and because of that Verizon decided to hold off on taking on the iPhone (I had know idea the iPhone was/is that close to be on Verizon)...also, how much can this one store manager know about what Corporate Verizon is and isn't doing? I will let others decided, I am just passing on the information.
The wait is killing me! I love my HTC Touch, but the touch screen has been getting worse and worse with the black spots of death!
It seems that all of our incredible dreams (pun intended) are being shattered.

I heard THAT, Ruben!
Well, DAMN!!! Looks like I'll be getting the N1 as well as I have GOT to have my new smartphone prior to May. Due to work, I have zero options to wait any longer than that. With that said, let me serve this up to all of you - The biggest N1 deterrent for me is that there will be no after-the-sale support aside from Google's. Do you think that that concern of mine is well-founded? Or is it just in my head?
I realize that this is the Incredible thread and I won't belabor this point, but since my Incredible plan seems to be going south for me in a hurry, I would appreciate any concise input you all might have. This thread seems to have attracted some of the brightest and most informed people in the Forums.

No, I think it is founded. Most likely if you have an issue with the phone and it is to the point where you need a replacement, you will probably have to mail it to Google and be without a phone for a few days.
I could be wrong, but that is how it is with T-Mobile and I would guess will be with Verizon.

I literally could not agree with you more about your concern. The way everything is set up, seems terrible to me. I have heard this is how the first iphone went as well and look at them now, but there is still cause for concern. I do not have a N1 but I have looked thoroughly through Google's official forums to take a look at what kind of problems people are having, things they dislike, and things they enjoy. When there is a problem, more times than not, there is no answer for these frustrated people! What are they supposed to do? The situation is in no way ideal; unless everything has gone perfectly with your phone but as a phone carrier, you cannot expect that.
In respect to this thread, its one of the main reasons I want to see how the Incredible plays out as far as a date of release and support.

I think you are getting carried away. AT&T aren't just going to get the best of Android like that.
Carried away? Nexus One has gone through the FCC. Milestone...through the FCC. X10...through the FCC. All with AT&T bands. I forgot to add, the Dell Mini as another possibility. I'm not making this up. AT&T said it: AT&T Android Phones From Dell, HTC and Motorola Coming Soon! | Android Phone Fans
All in the 1H of 2010. Hard to deny that it's about to get pretty crowded in the smartphone market real soon, including for Android. The Incredible showing up in June would be like that guy who shows up at the party two hours late when everyone is drunk, doesn't notice, and doesn't really care.
Does anyone know how they got all of this info? The camera megapixels, etc.?
Also, daveydog read this: Rooting - is it for me? Some Q&A | Android Central
There isn't much risk in rooting, just flashing ROMs. You have to do your research on ROMs. Once you hear good stuff about it, flash it and you'll be on your happy way.
I think they are safe guessing. The lowest RAM the Incredible will have is 256. The lowest camera it would have is 5mp, etc.
I just dont think June is credible but hopefully after tuesday I'll know.
Less than 48 hours before an official HTC press event and you guys are throwing in the towel? Seems pretty silly
Not necessarily "throwing in the towel" just yet... just want to make sure that I have something else in place prior to May, personally, and having questions in accordance to what that contingency plan might be!

Same here, I am very tired of waiting, and it seems like when I am close to getting what I think I want (like the Eris) something better IMO comes out, then I wait for that (Verizon N1) and something nicer/different comes along (Incredible) and so on. At some point I just need to draw the line, bite the bullet, and make up my freakn mind! I have subscribed to email updates for the Mobile World Congress | Global Conference for Mobile Technology and Business
now i dont even know which to go with.. sense looks so damn nice but i dont know if i wanna wait for the HTC Fail or just grab the N1 when it comes out. damn these waiting games. im sick of my lg venus lol the number keys pait is all chipped away. ive been ready for a smart phone for so long now sigh.
I doubt it. I think they're just putting it up there. Unless of course the Incredible and Supersonic launch on two different carriers at the exact same time (something I very much doubt).

I think that there's a lot of speculation out there right now regarding this phone's specs/release date. I can't find another reference to a June date for Incredible. I did find another site that says March, 2010. here's the link:
Based on the video, pics and descriptions out there, I also question the accuracy of the 65k color TFT display. I have a hard time believing that HTC/VZW would not use AMOLED tech, when the N1 and Bravo do. Interestingly, the above site also says that the Incredible display will be AMOLED.

Very good post. I think your post points out the incredible arrogance of Google. They are not at all responsive to consumers unless they get bad publicity in the main stream press. Look how arrogant they were with releasing Buzz with the gaping privacy holes. They are only starting to address these issues because of the bad press.
If you look at the Android forums regarding the lack of bluetooth voice dialing, you'll see what I mean. These forums were started in 2008 and Google only considers this medium priority. The mainstream press that drools over the Android phones must not use them in real life. BT voice dialing is not addressed in 2.1 or in any of the new Android phones.

Yeah, I saw it said March, that would be great! Like I said earlier in the thread, there might be some big announcements since it is the MWC and Verizon has big advertising in the Olympic games.
I would say 95% of the reports I have read all say AMOLED screen, that is what I am hoping for, among other things. I can not understand the reasoning if they don't.
My wife tells me I am driving her nutts with all of this talk, I keep updating her for the last few weeks and she is at the point that she wants the phone to hurry and come so I can shut up. She will be getting the same as I get, unless she picks something different.

I'm right there with you. My wife wants the same phone I get, but is sick of hearing about it.
Let's hope we learn more about this phone at MWC, but as was discussed before, it may be CTIA that gives us the info we crave.

Well, see, that's just it! The source that I have access to www.htcsecret.com also said it'd be released in March 2010. That's why it was so discouraging for me to see a June 2010 date being tossed around out there. Here's hoping it's March!!
WHAT!??? No bluetooth dialing?? You got to be kidding me? WOW. Maybe I do want a Windows phone. I am opposed to everything Microsoft stands for, but BT dialing as a medium priority??? I'm ready to ditch HTC, their phones, and android itself. Wish Verizon would get it's act together.

Reason: more to add
I'm not convinced that this new site is that reliable. They show an N1 released in January as expected but the N1 showing in April has no mention of CDMA. Would be very disappointing if the incredible had a tft screen. Its shows the supersonic as having tft as well. I think I'm going to wait until something more official comes out before I get too disappointed.
Hopefully we hear something in a couple of days.

Deep breath.......trying to center my chi.....I know you are right, Kaelin, but my finger is close to the phone ready to tear into some Verizon customer service rep.

The Incredible will be AMOLED. Bank on it! That's all I can say. Oh, and have a nice day!

My friend has a droid and this Parrot hands free car kit. I tried it and it works great. The voice recognition is built into the device. So, until google adds BT voice dialing I plan to use this once I get an android phone.

That is a good work around. I had no idea Android OS couldn't support BT voice dial, that really sucks. However, I haven't used BT voice dialing since I had my BB Pearl about 4 years ago, and I only had that phone for 30 days (do to the fact I have/had sever tendinitis in one of my wrist that little phone just did not work well in my big hand). So, this is not a deal breaker for me. Most of the people I call are set up on speed dial so with a few quick swipes and touches on my HTC Touch I can dial with hardly any difficulty while driving.
It would be nice if the greatest superest smartest phone/platform in the world would figure out this.

I would go with March as well. Or March/April. I'm guessing its at Verizon testing as the video showed their software spash coming up. Thats the last step really, everything else is formalities unless it somehow failed testing.

That would obviously kill off a March launch.
But really what phones do they have to introduce now? Bravo, Supersonic, Incredible and Legend? Sony just busted out 3 new phones. The Legend is too underwhelming to be announced by itself. Yes its the Hero's successor and all, but please. The Supersonic and Incredible are more then likely close enough (hardware wise) to be announced together. Incredible has been shown to developers and should be in Verizon testing. So unless Verizon wants June for the sake of June (or HTC is fine being passed by) there's no reason it shouldn't be announced on Tuesday.

Exactly that...Verizon boot logo's mean its close! They add those in at Verizon's testing level. No need to have it if its still an HTC prototype
I'm just going to throw this out there. A friend of mine works for a major network here in Ireland (a certain red-loving network). He was talking to a coworker who had this network's roadmap for the next six months. The Incredible is on it, and it's got a release window of March. Now, I know this is one of those 'I know a guy who knows a guy,' but my friend is a tech-wiz, knows his stuff and isn't a bullshitter. I've never had any reason to doubt him, so if the roadmap is correct...

Those are my EXACT thoughts for the past couple of days in this thread. So this site comes out of nowhere with no sources cited and says that the HTC Incredible will be released in June and everyone wants to buy into it? Well, if that's how little evidence you all need, then why not just believe Newsradio (who was completely without evidence) who said that the Incredible is completely made up and does not and will never exist. That kind of statement holds the same weight as that site holds. Completely unfounded and without citation = me not giving their specs, predictions and/or release date the time of day. Wait till MWC and then we'll start to make our minds up. That site doesn't know what they're talking about. Guarantee.
