You might have noticed that they stopped saying anything after I mentioned that I had been weight training solidly for the past two months and am really BUFF now!
Depends when you signed your 1st contract. I have been with verizon since 1994 and get ne2 100
think it depends on the contract $ wise (they recently changed). ive been with vz since 94 as well and used to get the 100 ne2 but only got the $50 credit 2 years ago when bought my voyager.
i saw that.... correct me if i'm wrong but as it is only being offered in limited geographical regions, i could't tie this offer to the incredible's being offered. At first I thought, hmmm.... they want to make it so more people can get the incredible. ... but I discounted it because the offer seems only to be good regionally, as I said, and is only in certain stores, like Wal-Mart.
I'm thinking that perhaps VZ is trying to dump old Ominias and BB's? Perhaps.
Now since Google is handling the N1 release for Verizon (I do actually believe this), than what other news could there POSSIBLY be about next week and announcements? Or this week and HTC reps, or this week and "special behind closed doors and Verizon employee meetings?
Just sayin
.........
In response to what other news there could POSSIBLY be... a from left field idea is that they may announce release of the Saygus (Saygus - Home) VPhone. I spoke with a person at Saygus early February and they told me they had completed Verizon certification. There has been no news I have seen or heard of on this phone since CES in early January.
Just thought I'd throw that out there while I impatiently fret away the hours/minutes waiting on something concrete about the Incredible release so I can resume a somewhat normal life.

Am I one of the few that gets a $100 credit annually?

OK so here is my thoughts with the release announcement. I do not believe for a minute that the release of the N1 will be getting any news what so ever. Look at the N1 and AT&T today. No one heard any news of it yesterday and today....BAM, AT&T has the N1.
Thats might have more to do with the fact the AT&T N1 is not associated with any plans or upgrades. You're just getting an unlocked N1 that now works fully with AT&T as opposed to the original N1 which only worked on Edge with AT&T. Its really no different then getting a phone from Ebay.

you could be right and makes sense. i just wonder about the people who would break thier contract early for old older model smartphones when an incredible (to make the post offical) phone is on its way.

They seem to be trying to drop smartphone inventory with their BOGO. Maybe this is part of that idea.
And not to pry, but is it fair to ask apang at what level in Verizon this person is (management, sales rep, retail, corporate)? Just curious, I saw someone ask this before, but don't think I saw an answer.
Thanks in advance!
Regional rep for Verizon Wireless.

I get the $100 NE2 credit. I believe this is because I am on a higher plan ($110 a month) and am the main line on a plan with my mother who has been a Verizon Wireless customer ever since I can even remember.

Hmmm. I thought that it's 100 every 2, 50 every 1 year. When the droid was 199, customer serviced said "oh, your eligible for a 50 credit so it will only be 149"

1) Devour comes out on the 25th
2) Whereas the Devour Android, it is a MotoBlur phone (social) and not a super mega business iPhone destroyer like the N1 and the Incredible.

If you all don't like humor, just let me know and I'm atta here. It doesn't matter to me. I'll get my phone and be just as happy as I was before I got here. Of course, I'll miss my new friends like Kappy and dozens of others. I just need to know if I'm considered one of the "bad apples." (Steven shakes his head.)
Not a bad apple in my book. Still scratching my head over the closing but whatever. Just continue the conversation over in this one, right?

May have something to do with not being on a family plan. I have qualified for a $100 discount for a couple of months now, and am only 14 months in to a 2 year contract. It has been like that as long as I remember (been a Verizon subscriber since '96)

I also believe that the article that came out yesterday about the "N1 shipping to Verizon" IS actually the Incredible. I keep up on tech news daily, and I have been for a long time. I do not remember once hearing anything about the N1 being shipped to anywhere from anywhere when it was released for T Mobile.

What about any new Windoze based phone from HTC? Anyone know of other HTC non-android phones being released to VZW soon?
At the tail end of our conversation an LG Rep entered the store. He said he had a friend who is an HTC Rep and that the Incredible was about 6 to 8 months from release.
Consider the source.

I think I'm already enrolled in your New Every Two program. How do I know what my discount will be if I want to upgrade my phone? You can check your New Every Two eligibility by signing into My Verizon. The New Every Two program is available to you when you sign up for a two-year plan of at least $34.99 per month and by fulfilling 20 months of that term. You will qualify for a free phone, up to $30 or $50 depending on your plan, with a two-year renewal, if you enrolled in the program on February 15, 2009 or later. If you enrolled in the program prior to February 15, 2009 and continued to meet the requirements of the program, you will qualify for a free phone up to a $50 or $100 value, depending on the monthly access of your plan. You can also transfer your New Every Two credit to another line on your account.
Edit: and now Im confused on why I'm not getting $100 since my family base plan is 69.99, and been signed up since 2004.....VZW, you've got some splainin' to do

no such luck. i asked her to just say yes or no and verify the date.
all she wrote was "i cannot."
to be honest - i dunno if she'd tell me if she knew. when she first told me that a HTC rep was there and said incred in April (pushed from March) she was very, "you can't tell anyone" yada yada yada.
who knows... but man the 27th sounds nice....
this is the most promising post yet...dissect it...if she didn't know she would say what? I don't know....
But if she did know and it was not being released on the 27th she wouls say what? Its not being released on the 27th
But if it is being released on the 27th...and you ask her about it and she knws its the 27th, she has only one answer....I cannot confirm or deny....
I have also contacted some more of my inside contacts with Verizon and awaiting more information. I also have someone that I went to college with and he now works for HTC Taiwan and he is looking into for me as well. I will be calling him very soon as it is 12hour ahead from where I live. I will post any information that I get within the next 24 hours.

I think if there is any one to ask in a Verzion store about new phones it's probably the tech people lol. They are the ones who have to actually handle the phone and be trained for their technology...so umm..some one throw their phone in the toilet.
I keep hearing this, but, I saw one tha a VZ kiosk last weekend. It was on display with all the other phones tethered on those cords. We only talked briefly about moto-blur, other than that not much was said as I held it, opened it, tried typing. It seemed heavy and solid enough, metal-like, to be real, not a dummy phone.
Someone refresh my brain stem,...
Was it decided that the incredible was the same as the desire/bravo, or not.
I only ask because the people selling them on ebay, "and the nexus one" are saying the U.K release date is first week of april, and I thought th U.K. got phones before we did in the U.S.
Who knows at this point.
Cell phone sales people are today's used cars salesman, they will say any and everything to get you to buy a phone today.
Agreed. But, not their fault. They can't have you walking away, or waiting a month, and eventually getting a phone from someone else. I don't blame (though I don't like it) VZ for not telling them what's up next.

Is it out or not?
Was it a corp own kiosk? So far from what I have been told, independent store and kiosk get their equipment early and don't have to abide by corp rules and release dates.
One of the independent stores in my area had the Devour a week before Best Buy started selling them.
We should all get jobs at VZW. Not only because we would get inside info (okay, maybe scratch that.), we would be way better than their current staff who don't know what they are talking about most of the time.

Yeah i wanted to scream when this lady was suggesting the Eris over the Droid for the dumbest reasons!
