Just wanted to give you a heads up that i got to work today and realized i accidentally left my sense of humor at home on the kitchen counter. Because i don't have it with me i won't be able to correctly interpret April Fools jokes correctly unless it's 100%, absolutely, undeniably, clear that you're making a joke by Titling you post "April Fools" and putting in a lot of wink's and smiley's.
I would hate to misinterpret your jovial intentions as an attempt to really mislead this thread or its community with false information during a time as sensitive as this one.
I think everyone is with me when i say keep it fun, but keep it honest, especially today (and for that matter, every day). Tread lightly, i head Banlandia has vacancy.

Pulled the trigger and just ordered a Droid to arrive tomorrow. That should keep me calm until the day the Incredible arrives. Is the return policy 30 days from activation, arrival or ordering it?

How does it work with the apps in regards to switching phones? I am just going to get me a Droid to tide myself over and I wanted to see if I buy an app and return the device can I just download it to another device or do I pay again for it?

That is true. Once you buy you own! I have to re-download them from the market but am not required to purchase them.

Morning guys. THIS IS NOT A JOKE (or even that big of a deal) but when I drove by my VZW store on the way to work, the droid ad in the window was down. There was something else. I couldn't tell what it was. I was at a distance and there was some dew/moisture build-up on the window (I was stopped at a red light). TO ME, it looked almost like the N1. No lie. HOWEVER, I checked google.com/phone and nada and I seriously doubt it was the N1. It just looked like it, so I am thinking they put an old Eris or new Eris ad up. I do not know for sure.
I am NOT trying to get anyone's hopes up or spread false info, so TIFWIW! I just wanted to give everyone a heads up and be on the lookout for new ads or promo materials.

Also, NKT, MM, Kappy, Steven58 (no relation , and I'm older than you), kcoan, Grandma, and not least of all Anonimac all rock. And I don't envy the mods at all.
I've learned lots about HTC, Verizon, and even about choads. Thanks! I won't bore you with my went-to-VZW-store story.
p.s., Portal ("the box/cake is a lie") is an awesome game.
On my drive into work this morning I was slightly dismayed upon hearing a Droid Does commercial on the radio. I understand marketing can go a bit longer than promos sometimes and that the Droid isn't going to stop selling anytime soon, but it still made me :-/. Kinda like they must not be gearing up for Inc ads... at least not this week.
I thought they were talking about my infraction and why I am on probation, apparently they meant if I had info on when the incred. was droppin'. It was my bad. I don't have anything new, but I think an announcment is real soon, possibly within a week, just a feeling I am getting from some stuff I have been told and the way things are lining up.

Regarding that comment about a Droid commercial on the radio, I just don't see how they can keep pumping advertising dollars into a campaign for a phone that's entering its 6th month of existence. I know Apple does that, but they just have the one model, it's perennially updated, and they're the manufacturer.
None of these factors are true for Verizon, so why keep embarrassing themselves trying to pimp last year's "new" hardware?
I saw a new palm commercial last night and I read on here earlier where there is a new palm promo? I hope an announcment is soon, I don't want to wait until the 19th for an announcment. A release, sure, but announce this biddy already!

I think that's primarily because at the present time, the Moto Droid is the best they have. They're legitimately putting their best foot forward in that regard. We also don't and can't know why things are taking as long as they are as outsiders looking in. We can only hope sooner rather than later. I'm sure they have their reasons for doing things the way they are, I just happen to disagree with their decisions to sit back and let other carriers run away with all of these awesome phones. I'm kinda torn actually. I want an awesome phone like the Incredible, for sure, but i know that if Verizon actually does what we all want them to do there will be very, very little real competition for them. They'll essentially have a monopoly on the US market... and I hate monopolies.
Just wanted to say hi and thank you for a great community. I've been following the forum for about three weeks and have found all the information very informative and the sometimes witless banter amusing.
I was in a Verizon store last night to upgrade my wife's storm 1 to a Curve... I'm pretty sure because it was "lavender" (not purple as I was promptly informed). Anyway, I tried picking the guys brain about the incredible and got absolutely nowhere. He said he doesn't even believe it's coming out until its in his hand. I asked him if he follows the phone/technology sector personally, outside of work and he stated he did. He just seemed so timid about the phone. I just don't understand how you can work for a company and not have a grasp on whats going on around you. He stated I was not the first person to ask. He also went on to say that the iphone will NEVER happen on Verizon. I started to explain to him that Verizon's own CEO was quoted as saying they were in talks a few months ago. He rebutted saying the Wall Street Journal had bad sources at which point I ended the conversation. Wouldn't you just say I can't talk about it if you weren't allowed to?

hahaha I am just trying to put a positive spin on this thread and re-state the major info. that has come up over the past 1-2 weeks since CTIA.
I think most of us can agree an announcment feels real close. VZW has done some crazy *hit, but I have to think these are mostly ready to go and VZW is waiting to drop the hammer.
2 more points to add:
`NKT is expecting more of an ad campaign than we all originally thought
`The "load" info. that was brought up yesterday, pointing to the device getting finalized. NKT also pointed out HTC has a plan in place for devices that have been manufactured, but not released that need updated.

oh well ... just one more piece of evidence and back to VZW the Droid goes. It looks like it's safe to say the Incredible is pretty close .. but, I'd love a little more proof. Please let this week end on a big find!

Ok, I have been meaning to ask this for a while - Costco has a Verizon kiosk in their stores - at least here, anyway. At any rate, they have a "no questions asked" 90 DAY return policy on their phones. 100% unconditional! And yes, they offer the Droid and Eris, among other phones. They also give you a free $25 accessory kit. Just curious as to why this hasn't been brought up in here before.
Yes stores like that as well as sams when they sell phones they can take the hit if someone wants to return the phone. The likely hood they return the phone is very small so they can offer this awesome return policy.
As for their free accesories they can also take the hit since their prices on the phone are little higher than lets say retail store (best buy) or auth retail dealer (actual store) they can say here is your BlueTooth for free.
I bought one of my phones from Sams few years back for a cheap price and got all the stuff included free(car charger, leather case, BT headset, and so on) It was a great deal.
I know if you have been with your provider for 2 years and ready to upgrade Best Buy has some of the best deals i have seen in a long time!! Most of their phones are free or under $50 After seeing these deals i can just goto walmart after and get the other stuff super cheap like car charger for $8 and case for $10 and so on.

Actually reading this post makes me feel less confident that a release is imminent. It basically points out that all of this anticipation for a release soon is built almost entirely on speculation. Aside from the phones in warehouse and NKT's personal experience, everything else in this list is completely specualtive or no longer true (like the droid being out of stock, for example). All of the other rumors going about have been unconfirmed and as time passes, the likelihood of them being false continues to grow.
Having said that, I'm still siked for the phone. I still want it. I'm still waiting for it. I'll wait as long as I have to or until something equal to or greater than comes along. I just don't see any real reason to believe that a release is right around the corner or even in "two weeks"(anyone seen The Money Pit?)

Do something nice for someone else today, something small. Make breakfast or dinner for your significant other. Buy the lovely person who rings you out at the grocery store some flowers. Hold the door for your classmates after class. DON'T get stressed sitting in traffic on the way home from work. The weekend is almost here and the next few days are gonna be good, with or without incredible news!

I for one am actually kind of pumped for all the cool threads that will get started once the Incredible comes out - tips and tricks, home screen pictures, etc.. I told my girlfriend about it last night and she gave me one of those "oh that sounds really cool but actually I dont care" looks.

The true rumors, NKTs, the on order are the MOST important. I'd rather have 2 important confirmed rumors, than several speculation rumors, ya know? I just put everything into one post. I wouldn't get down on it, stay positive, the important stuff is looking better and better every day!
