LOOKEY WHAT I FOUND!!! I did a little digging today and found that the cellebrite machine needed to be updated... no big deal. So after the update I checked for our baby and low and behold!!! IT WAS THERE!!!. So what does this mean??? It means that WE ARE CLOSE TO RELEASE!!!! Just another nail in the coffin. here is the pic for proof...
sorry if this has been posted already..
Thank you for all of your detective work and honesty in reporting any possible news (good or bad) back to us.
I see the name is listed as HTC Incredible, and the Eris is HTC Droid Eris...could this be proof that Verizon is not carrying out the Droid name on the Incredible? I betcha it is.

The Moto DROID was originally in the system with the name sholes, so that doesn't really prove anything.
Im going to take my educated guess and say, from people I have talked to, that this phone is coming out end of April/start of May. Getting closer by the day!

not me. I wouldn't a problem buying online at all. I can see why many folks would, but I spend A LOT of time looking at specs, features, measurements, etc, that I would be comfortable doing it. Now, if you didn't have at least a 14-day return (no costs!) policy, I would not be one of the firsts. I would wait to read other's reviews and comments.
I buy so much stuff online these days, it's just no big deal for me.
I do buy quite a bit sight unseen online and I do look a lot at specs, features etc. However, I was ready to buy the Droid as soon as it came out but when I saw it in store I did not want it although all the specs etc. were what I was looking for. I did not find this forum until Feb so I was holding out for something else without knowing about the Incredible rumors. Therefore, I would not purchase an N1 sight unseen. Just my perspective.
Kcoan's post is confirmed. My colleague had to update his cellbrite machine but the incredible has been added in the last 24hours. Here is the pic he texted me!

Hey dude I'm no Microsoft fanboy but you gotta tell the whole story here .... because Jobs and Gates were/are both some thieves. Apple stole the GUI from Xerox (later they payed Xerox 100 mill for it) and Microsoft stole it from Apple. So the only innocent party involved is Xerox. BTW, this is a great movie Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999) (TV)
Ooh, uh, yeah. I'm going to have to go ahead and sort of disagree with
you there.
Steve Jobs was INVITED to visit the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (after buying Xerox stock) in December 1979. Adele Goldberg (the founder of PARC Place Systems) and her colleagues SHOWED the Jobs and the Apple programmers an Alto machine running a graphical user interface. Adele had a big argument with the Xerox executives beforehand telling them that they were about to "GIVE AWAY the kitchen sink" and she said that she would only do it if she was ordered to do it cause then of course it would be their responsibility, and that's what they (Xerox) did.
Microsoft copied the GUI OS concept from Apple after developing applications for the then newly released Macintosh.

Reason: Typos
Sooo . . . Sorry to dig up a dead horse and continue to beat it. But, I wanted to add some small tidbit to the Ram/Rom discussion.
Rom: Data is persistent through power cycle. The Os/.exe's are written here and when the phone boots they are written into the ram. Kind of "like"(I say this loosely) the hard drive on you home computer.
Ram: Data is not persistent through power cycle. This is where the Os and currently running programs run. Kind of "like"(I say this loosely) the system ram on you home computer.
My sincerest apologies for the OT comment of which I'm usually most frustrated by.

niiiiiiice.
two solid leads today. confirmed. NICE !!!
this is the kinda news we like late on a friday!
good stuff guys. THANKS.
these cellbrite machine pics are SOLID leads ... the kinda leads I like.
We haven't quite run out of ways to prove that the HTC Incredible exists and is coming to Verizon. So here's one more. We got a tip yesterday about it being in Verizon's CelleBrite system (that's a method of moving your old data onto a new phone), and a pic was posted at Android Forums proving it. (Oh, we also hear that the Verizon Nexus One is in CelleBrite, too.) Now if somebody would kindly slip the Incredible itself into our hands, we'll be happy to make short work of it. Thanks, Steven and JM for the tips!
After the mix up last night regarding the Verizon having started Incredible training I am happy to say that this picture is confirmed. The HTC 6300 Incredible has shown up in Verizon CellBrite units after the most recent update to their software. Yet another good sign the Incredible is inching closer to life in the real world. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a real training screen shot leak sooner rather than later. Thanks Gregg (you redeemed yourself )
A few (or several) of us on here have relationships with those sites and feed them info. They've provided the forum with things in the past, so we reciprocate.
Edit: Notice that the links from those site always refer back to the post with the info in order to credit the person (kcoan3 in this instance) that originally posted the information

Store employees know nothing. I doubt an entire country of minimum wage employees are keeping this thing under wraps for fear of losing such a well paying job.......lol At a MINIMUM, they would be telling thier family and friends. There are no more secrets in the age of the internet. Ask Tiger Woods.
Actually Verizon pays EXTREMELY well, has one of the best benefits package of any company, and is consistently ranked in the top 5 as far as training and being one of the best companies to work for. So do your research. They are also VERY serious about product info/leaks, etc. Employees were fired and the Secret Service was involved in several instances where employees merely searched the system to see if Barack has an account with Verizon. No one wants to risk something like that just for breaking the rules, and it is absolutely true that retail store employees know NOTHING about new equipment until the trainings come out, unless they've heard rumors, or follow the forums online- so when they say they know nothing, unless you can tell from their body language that they are completely BSing you, its true. And if they did know something, chances are, its coming soon because they would have already seen the training for it, unless they were getting their info from the rumor mill or the internet..
while good news is coming in, my brain refuses to let me get my hopes up just to be let down again- it's like waiting for the results of a test- did i pass, did i fail, when will the scores be in, what's taking so long, must be bad news, could be good news, anyone else heard, does it usually take this long, what signs should I be looking for, is there any way to tell, should I see a psychic, see a psychiatrist, see a stripper- is there an end to this madness, will somebody please just tell me when this damned PHONE is coming out- that would be INCREDIBLE.
I hate you vzw, I hate you!
EDIT: I feel a little better- what about an easter release to combat the "jesus phone"?

Playing devil's advocate on the Cellebrite news, does this really give us any indication of a release date?
As I understand it, the device transfers phone data such as contacts and photos. To do that, all you need is the file location and database format for the transferred items. Presumably these are standardized across all Android 2.1 phones (if not all Android versions). So if Cellebrite can transfer Droid information, for example, then presumably it can also transfer for the Google N1, Incredible, Desire, Hero, Shadow, etc. etc. Basically, you could list any Android phone (whether it exists or not).
So as I see it, the Cellebrite listing tells us that the Incredible exists (which we already knew), that Verizon intends to sell the Incredible (which we already knew), and that the Incredible runs Android (which we already knew).
In response to your earlier post about how your cell phone will soon do everything, someone posted this and I thought I would repost with my approval (not that it is needed of course), check it out, it is pretty funny.

All valid points. However, I believe it puts us an important step closer to a release and seems to be yet another indicator that an April release is a very strong possibility. At this point, we'd all love something more definitive, but we'll take what we can get.

Fair enough. Its certainly more concrete than the "friend-of-a-friend" or "in-store-intel-mission" reports that attempt to pass as news in here.
Indeed they do... and honestly, I kinda feel bad for getting credit for the tip, just because I tipped them first. I'm sorry. I feel dirty and whore-like. Please forgive me, Kcoan and Kbush.

Believe me, Cellbrite knows the difference. There would be NO WAY to transfer info from a eris by selecting another device. One day working with this machine teaches u that. Cellbrite will only recognize the device if THE EXACT MODEL # is selected.
Incredible is not listed as supported on the Cellebrite web site
On the Cellebrite web site there is a list of all the phones they support. HTC Google Nexus One is on the list, also Eris and Droid and all the others that appear in kcoan's photo of the Cellebrite screen.
But the HTC Incredible does not appear in the list:
Now, if they wanted to hype their support for all the latest 'n' greatest mobile phones, don't you think Cellebrite would list absolutely everything? Where's the HTC Incredible?
Unless...maybe it does have another name I don't know about? You guys are the experts here...
Device(s): HTC Inc, replacing a range of strangely boring and sub-functional rubbish.

Well, the Incredible doesn't technically "exist" yet, which is probably why it isn't listed.

I would think that they would only put released phones, or maybe ones that are least announced. They aren't going to put on their website a phone that hasn't even been announced yet.

You should get him to look in there and see if the EVO/Supersonic is in there...

My guess would be that the website hasn't been updated.

My days "awhoring" are over.
Sounds like someone fell for the old "just the tip"

Well ... my in-store mission was thwarted by a sales lady near where my dad lives. She defended Verizon's lack of publicity and held the line well, and as far as the Incredible went, I think my housecat knew more.
meow. (Where's that Google Translate for Animals when you need it?)
I'm gonna go out of the limb and say that maybe it's because the phone doesn't technically exist yet. Same reason why it's not on Verizon's website either.
We know it exists though.

The infamous Box has made it out of the forums..this is the comment to our article.
agreed Steven, I have been following the info for the Inc on AF more than anywhere else. Engadget, BGR, and AC are good places to supplement the info, but AF is where most of the "breaking news" has been coming from, in regards to the Inc. I mean, AC didn't even cover the infamous "box" ;-)
