I found a weird image of the camera on the Desire that I haven't seen on other versions. It has an orange/red ring around the camera. Maybe this is that color on the Incredible? Probably not, but anything other than mentioning Apple.
I'm thinking those must be pre-production models, cause all of the pictures from MWC show gray where the red is in these pictures, hopefully they'll take notes for the incredible and do away with the burnt orange back plate.

I agree that I hope the whole back plate isn't red, but I have to say I do like that touch of red around the camera on these pictures. I wouldn't mind having that.
Well already I know the iPhone is gonna have Super OLED and I already know the Incredible has a normal AMOLED. I gotta have the best
No offense, but with that attitude you're gonna be waiting forever, cause as soon as a phone comes out with a Super AMOLED, they'll announce the Super Duper AMOLED.

Super Duper AMOLED sounds amazing...I think I might have to wait for it!!!
Im pretty sure only Samsung has the Super AMOLED right now.......don't know if they plan on giving it to other companies like HTC or if HTC will figure out how to make one.

even if the phone comes out with the red/orange back plate I would get it and within a couple of ways/weeks we would have other back plate being sold in different colors online

Oh don't get me wrong, they could paint the back plate rainbow or electric pink and I'd go get the phone. I'm sure there will be other back plates that come. If not from HTC themselves than a 3rd party vendor will make money off changing the color.

I can't fault you for wanting the best!
As for the screen issues. If you mean or are refering to the ones the N1 was or is having.. I think I read somewhere, where that is part a software thing or something. Like an update could help fix that. I may be wrong though.

yeah! Im pretty sure I read somewhere online, that, that could be fixed with a software upgrade.. Something about screen calibration possibly? Or contrast resolution adjust. I think that can and will be fixed in the future... Don't hold me to it though.

"The Nexus One screen is great for text, icons, and menu graphics, but is "poor for images and awful for resolution scaling." According to DisplayMate, the screen has color and gray scale accuracy errors and image "noise," as seen in the following NASA photos. Again, this may be a result of software or firmware issues, rather than hardware issues."
I think displayMate takes it to the extreme. Most people love the screen and think stuff looks great. But if it is software or firmware then maybe there could be an update to fix the issues. I don't know if they are that big of a deal to that many people to begin with.

I just decided to read the comments on that site and alot of people agree its the software. Alrighty then but I still want a super oled cause YouTube - Samsung Super AMOLED screen technology look at 1:36 at how black that is

That's fine man. I'm not hating on you lol. Get what YOU want. That's most important. No one is gonna get on your @ss about getting what you want. If that is something you want than go for it. For others (like me) it isn't as big of a deal or a dealbreaker I guess.. I mean man I have an enV2! Anything is gonna be a sweet upgrade for me lol
Super AMOLED isn't all that much different from regular AMOLED. Even by the video you posted. The advantages of super AMOLED is that it's a bit brighter than regular AMOLED and that it has better viewing in direct sunlight.
Regular AMOLED is still stunning and the picture quality is still just as good as super AMOLED despite super AMOLED being a bit brighter.
Super AMOLED still does look better but it's nothing huge for me. Not enough to deter me from getting an already amazing phone. My main concerns are with the hardware inside.

We all have our reasons for waiting. What makes sense to one person may not make sense to the next. I'm waiting for the Incredible...just to see if the hype is warranted...or perhaps I'll go with the N1...but I can see for sure that a few years down the road there we be something that blows away anything coming this year. Waiting only makes sense now because the Android phone choice for Verizon hasn't yet hit a sweet spot. Upon release of either the N1, or the Incredible, for Verizon a new page will be turned. Verizon will finally have a lightweight powerful full featured smart phone that will be as true rival to the iPhone. Sure, arguably better. But arguments aside, anyone wanting Verizon and the iPhone will at least be happy enough until something better comes along. Right now those options don't exist. (to me the Droid isn't light enough or fast enough to be a true iPhone competitor). Just my two cents. Definitely tired of waiting but tell myself all the time how patience is truly a virtue. Based on this thought I'm going to give the Incredible a final deadline that is at least a few weeks further down the road...and perhaps a month or so based on rumor. If it's not released by mid May...I'm buying the N1. Hey, my patience is wearing thin as I've been already out of contract for over a year waiting for something good to come to Verizon so I could make the switch from Sprint.
I'm tired of all this HTC Incredible talk. All I really want is for Apple to add multitasking and give the iPad phone capability. Now that's a phone to bow to!...You guys and your silly 3.7" screens - HA.
haha okay I'm done messing around. I wish there was more info leaking

Maybe android has a patent on multitasking on a phone and all the manufactures of android based phones can sue Apple when they use it.
I was just surprised when I checked my email. I just received an email from a real, living Verizon representative inviting me to upgrade to a new phone. All his work contact information is legit, including his work phone number. I emailed him back telling him that I will upgrade when the Incredible is released. I am awaiting a response back.

NICE! Can't wait to read the response. I can't upgrade till Oct so I'm hoping the Incedible comes out soon so the price of it can go down for when it's time for me to upgrade.
I am debating on whether or not to bite the bullet now and get a Droid or wait to see if N1 or Incredible comes out. Of course....if Apple's BS lawsuit moves and HTC is forced to "stop selling" devices then I may have 2 wait longer for the other 2. I am just not a big fan of virtual keyboards.

The droid is good, but it isn't incredible... haaaa seriously though. I was like you. My upgrade came and I was like hmm I should just do it. Then I started researching around and came across all this and now I am sold on waiting. It can't hurt to at least wait until after CTIA and see if it is released!

I dont think Apple's bS lawsuit will effect any of us for a while or hopefully at all. They will still be able to release new phones just as they have been doing until it is all final and they have a verdict. I am not a lawyer by any means so i dont know if buisness law practices are like personal but a person is inocent until proven guilty. Like someone said on the Engadget report, the government need to restrict what they give patents out for. i should write up a patent for answering a phone call by a button, graphic button, swiping a graphic icon over another one, and also lets throw in by answering a call by saying answer

:-( No luck!!! Here's what he said:
I do not have any information on if/when an HTC Incredible would launch.
Our current Motorola Droid and Droid Eris are available now and might be devices you would consider.
Either device would be a nice upgrade to your Motorola.
Just noticed something, the camera lens on the back of the Incredible is flush with the red backplate, on the photos of the Desire the lens sticks out alittle. I don't think you could slap a cover over the red backplate of the Incredible, the lens would then be recessed.

Actually, I thought it worked the opposite way. My impression was that the red back plate is the cover! I am hoping that is the thing that will be interchangeable.

Yes it is the back plate. They were saying on the last page that they thought HTC was going to put a cover over the back of the Incredible and they used the Desire with the red lens and speaker grill as an example. I cant see that happening. That's what I was getting at.

Oh I see.....yeah, In those pictures it looked like the "Guts" of the phone were red.
Unrelated, but still makes for good conversation on a slow "leak" day... AT&T's Motorola Backflip might be their first AND Last Android phone. AT&T, who's cash cow has been the iPhone's success, could have easily been pressured by a freshly pissed-off Steve Jobs to punt Google and choose Yahoo as the primary search engine - on an Android device, no less! Ballsy stuff there! This fight will get goooood!!
