I am not in any way affiliated with MM but its rather discouraging for me to try and find more information when people cry foul saying its a photo shopped picture and MM basically repeats what i said earlier about the in stock date as well as the availability and then comes out saying he found out earlier about this from his source but yet didnt post any of that information until the photos were leaked.

I really need to stop the madness.... All the girls miss me on the Makeup Alley forum, but they don't understand that I'm waiting 24/7 for any tidbit of INCREDIBLE info.. I'm a makeup artist, but right now forums about eyeliner seem so unimportant compared to this.
Where as in the BBY Mobile store the phone is 199.99 at the time of purchase. BBY Mobile can do almost everything a verizon store can do minus the Verizon VIP program. That is a special program that verizon has that rewards customers. The qualifications are as follows, have a plan that is a minimum of $70 a month, have an auto pay set up every month, and have a good outstanding account with no late payments for a minimum of 6 months. The reward for the customer then is getting a new phone every year for the 2 year upgrade price plus an additional $50 off the phone. For family plans the the primary line is the only eligible line. BBY Mobile does not match that since it is a program offered directly through verizon. I would know this since i am a VIP member and I could not use that discount at my BBY Mobile store i had to go to a verizon store to get the discount when i bought my blackberry tour.

A code string linked anonymously on Tuesday to AndroidSPIN suggests that HTC may be in the process of developing a new Android smartphone rumored to be released under the name of “Scorpion,” also known as to HTC employees as the “Olympian.” The Scorpion would use the 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which would give it the ability to play 1080p video. It would also use the FRE65C build of Android 2.2, an update which Google has codenamed “Froyo.” WiMAX is referenced in a line of the leaked code.
I am not a tech expert at all, but I can tell you what I have experienced. Not looking to argue with anyone, simply stating my experiences.
I know while I was Alltel, the company was VERY strict about zero use of other carriers devices on their network.
In my transition to VZW I did not encounter this issue. But I can say its very difficult to get another carriers's device off of their old roaming list and on to the VZW PRL. The device must utilize the correct towers and these updates come out frequently. Even if a device had a correct PRL initially, I am thinking it would not receive updates when they were released????
More importantly, I know I could place VZW devices onto Alltel plans, because the two were compatible. We could NOT place an Alltel device onto a VZW rate plan or PRL. Alltel devices had to be on Alltel rate plans and a "hybrid" VZW/Alltel PRL was the most we could offer. If we placed an Alltel device on a VZW rate plan or standard PRL, the phone would not be functional.
Anything you can add VIPER?
If we try to activate an ESN that is not a Verizon phone, we get an error and we cannot activate it. Does that answer your question?

That program isn't what it should be. I honestly don't know much about it. It's not like "bring us an EVO and we will make it work on our network". I believe it is more for the people who want to make a CDMA device (could be a laptop, cash register, whatever!) and use VzWs network. It's a process for them to get that device using their network.

I didn't mean to hurt your feelings and I wasn't personally attacking you. I would say that any of the authorized resellers in this area are horrendous and you can bet that I strongly suggest the visit a corporate store. It's a bad experience for them when they go to a reseller who tells them the wrong thing and then we have to correct it. Happens every day, there are numerous resellers around the store I am at.

Like I said, everything I know I have shared here. To a regular employee who doesn't care, they wouldn't even know what the Incredible is. For me, I look for things in the systems and I can find some little information here and there. They do their best to keep things a secret.

The latest news that I have is that tonight while cleaning there was a man there to buff all the floors of the corporate stores we clean and there is a room in the back that is always locked. Well, he opened the room to buff the floors and then when he left, he left it open I guess for us to clean. The sad news is that I didn't see any htc incredible phones, accessories, or anything. There was everything for every other phone you could think of and I even saw a cover that was labeled for the samsung reality that was yet to be released but nothing for the incredible. Again, i will keep my eyes open to anything I find our see.

I was at Best Buy the other day - the rep told me that they get Verizon phones later (for example he told me they got the Droid a month after it was available from Verizon). Is this true? And if it is true, it would suggest that the incredible will be available to purchase directly from Verizon at an earlier date than the 25th.
Don't believe that rep. The Droid was available the same day at Best Buy as it was from Verizon. There were people making appointments the week before to get the phone from their local Best Buy on release day.
Actually I believe I read somewhere that EVDO Rev A is capable of voice and data at the same time but Verizon hasn't implimented the simultaneous service yet.
You're right. I should have stated that it's a 6-month-old standards spec so don't count on it. I believe the hardware for the tower upgrades is not even available yet.
If this AT&T marketing is really working maybe you'll see SVDO upgrades but I wouldn't count on it. I'm not sure it's a wise investment with LTE being deployed.

I have been lurking in the dark shadows here, stalking this phone since last year and a couple threads ago. I started on HF until I found the holy land here.
I started back then, researching my next phone with the NE2 and really liked the HTC Incredible and Android over WM. Now I am addicted to this thread. I have not registered, since I really have nothing useful to share. I have not walked into a VZW Store… I have no friends of friends who know someone… It takes me nearly my entire time at work to read every post from the previous day. Who has time to read AND post comments, and I know my sarcasm would only get me in trouble if I start.
I cannot wait for the Incredible to be released, so first I can play with it and second I can get back to work and the other much slower forums I normally read. Do not even ask about productivity at work lately.
Thanks to everyone who has provided valuable insider intelligence and even those who have kept me laughing in between all the good Incredible information.
Well back to lurk mode, and waiting yet another 2 more weeks. Is it the 23rd, 25th or the 29th yet?

I don't want to bum anyone out by telling this but....
My source who works in corporate asked about when the release date for the Incredible will be and was told..... There's no release date set yet, but they could see it coming out this month.
It's obviously coming out extremely soon, but there's no chance we'll find out a release date. I can see them telling people about the Incredible and having them train on it then a week after tell them that it's going to be announced the next day and released the day after. My source told me that it has happened before like that so there's a chance it could happen again.
Knowing Verizon, they'll probably announce a release date the day AFTER they release it....
(of course, now we at least have fairly good intel on the Inc.'s release date.)
It's 2am here now in Cali and I just read the last 8 or 9 pages over the last 10 or 15 minutes. The rounds of thanks for MM's message is now as big as a lot of regular posts!
OK this is old news, but Verizon CEO will let out he's on his knees begging APPLE for the Iphone......But giving up details about upcoming phones is considered bad business. Nothing like looking like a wussy in front of your competitors. Verizon, as a business, really baffles me!

Question for any Best Buy employees or folks who have purchased phones through them. I'm eligible for upgrade so no worries there. I have gathered from past information that Best Buy typically handles the rebate process and gives you the instant discount so you get the bottom line pricing after rebate out the door. Do they honor NE2 credits? Between a VZW store and the website, I'd normally go with the latter because they offer instant rebates vs. the store making you mail it in. However, I'd be inclined to go with Best Buy if they get the phone at the same time because I have a gift card burning a hole in my pocket. Would like to lower my bottom line price, if possible.
Edit: Meh, after months and months of lurking, posting, and stalking a high end HTC Android phone on Verizon, here I am finally making tentative purchase plans. I hope I didn't just jinx myself. (and all of us!)

This info came to me - TOTALLY unsolicited- from one of the newer members of this forum. At this time, he has opted to remain anonymous, as he has undoubtedly seen people in here get shredded for less! What makes the information that you are about to read so significant, is that it was given to me nearly 2 weeks ago - back on 3/25, with recent updates in the conversation. Since then, I have shared this with a very select few of you in here to get some opinions on it and those I have spoken to seem to be very excited by the following conversation. And now, more stories are coming forth regarding the end of this month as a likely release date, so this news that I received some two weeks ago is looking to be EXTREMELY relevant now!

SOURCE: I selected you, because throughout the past few weeks of me lurking here, and putting a few posts in, you seem to have had the most information. Not that the others don't have information, but you seem to genuinely care about finding out about this phone. I guess I feel I can relate to you more than some of the others on the forum. Anyhow, to the story. So, I work at BB, and I have been hounding my Verizon rep for weeks about this phone and the N1. Every time I spoke to her, nothing, except for today. When I got to work, she was there. I went over to her and gave her a play by play of my two days off this week (day 1 and 2 of CTIA). I explained how I was glued to the computer and my overall infatuation like the rest of this forum. We are very close... it isn't like other business partnerships. So, I tell her about my disappointments, and she blurts out, "you guys are getting it on the 25th." I say April? She says, "yes". I went on to ask about our buyers guides and if the phone would be in there. She said it will be like when the Droid came out, it won't show up in the buyers guide till the following month. She said she was told that we can start preselling them in early April. She didn't have an exact date on when presell starts. The 25th makes sense to me, since it is a Sunday, and our Ads start every Sunday. This gives our Company time to put it in the Ad and have it ready for print. She also told me her boss got to play with one, and he mentioned that he hadn't seen a phone this cool ever. A lot of times, I worry about reps and sales associates having information, but for her to be on the up and up for presales and all the other information, I am buying into the 25th of April theory. hope this helps. For all of our sakes, and sanity, I also hope what I have heard to be true. Like I said, I have no reason to not believe my rep. Also, I will be able to see inventory for our store and information around presales of the Incredible. As soon as I get information, I will hand it over to you.

SOURCE: Looks like someone posted a sku from internal best buy. people are speculating that it is a computer or something from verizon. Just to be clear, and computers with mobile broadband still have model numbers and skus from the manufacturer (gateway, hp, etc.) so this sku will not be a computer. The MSRP is $599 because that will be the retail price with no contract. I will check this particular sku tomorrow at work to see what I can find...but I wanted you to have this info on what the people are saying in the forum. Talk to you soon.

SOURCE: I checked the sku today at work and it is an active sku in our system. That just means our store will carry it. It goes live on the 25th of April definitely. This ties into the same time my verizon rep said we were getting it. I also checked planograms and they change on the 25th of April and this sku will be on the new one. I don't know if it will be like the devour where we carry it first and then Verizon launches it later. I cannot confirm that. If it is like the Droid, we should see shipments about 5 days before the launch day.
ME: Amazing stuff! Well, I am prepared to take your information to the thread if you permit.

It is sad, but I work at the biggest electronics store in the world, and still act like a kid at Christmas with all these cool new gadgets. The Droid was available at BB on launch date, if you all remember they were the first ones to be taking pre-orders on the Droid. Wal-mart even had it on launch day for $11 cheaper. The Devour was available a couple of weeks earlier at BB than at the Verizon stores if im not mistaken.

So I'm going to ask a question that I've kinda been sitting on because I didn't think anyone would have a solid answer since the phone hasn't really been in anyone's hands besides a select few. But here goes anyway:
I remember seeing reviews about the Nexus One having issues with the auto zoom not working properly (focusing for a split second and unfocusing again). Do we know if this was hardware or software related? Did the update to android 2.1 fix it?
My concern is that it's software related and the incredible, while having a sweet 8 megapixel camera, will produce unfocused pictures.
So I'm going to ask a question that I've kinda been sitting on because I didn't think anyone would have a solid answer since the phone hasn't really been in anyone's hands besides a select few. But here goes anyway:
I remember seeing reviews about the Nexus One having issues with the auto zoom not working properly (focusing for a split second and unfocusing again). Do we know if this was hardware or software related? Did the update to android 2.1 fix it?
My concern is that it's software related and the incredible, while having a sweet 8 megapixel camera, will produce unfocused pictures.
Does anyone have any input regarding this issue?

The Nexus never had that issue. That was a timestamp related issue in 2.0.0 for the Droid that got fixed in 2.0.1.
2.1 will not have this issue on any hardware.
Back to the MM post - thanks for the info! Also, is it eerie to anyone else that the 25th is in approx... 2 weeks? Haha.

I am not closing the thread. Yeah, It seems pretty perpetual. I for one, while encouraged with what I'm reading, have decided to not expect anything. I'm just going to sit and wait for something a little bit more that just what people are saying. Don't get me wrong, I really like what I'm hearing. It's just that the constant, "This phone is right around the corner" talk gets to be pretty exhausting for me. I'd rather wait and just get excited about an actual development.
I don't think it's coincidence that the 25th is two weeks out personally.

My last query got lost in the midst of MM's news...
Again, does anyone know if there is any way I will be able to transfer my user dictionary from my Blackberry to the Incredible (without manually entering the words one at a time?) I have added soooo many terms & abbreviations, I really hate to lose all that work. THANKS YA'LL!

Ok, so let me add a bit to MM's post. I have held back since I was starting to loose my street cred here but with MM's post it has confirmed 2 of my sources from independent stores.
They stated that they should be able to sell my the phone on April 25th and that they are waiting on prices for the phone. I asked if they had the phone in stock and he stated that they are not in the stores. They both informed me that they did the same thing with the Devour as far as releasing before Corp stores release the phone. Although the Devour was about a month in advance from the Corp release, it sounds like it will be only a few days.
On top of this info I received more info from my VZW Corp office buddies that "the 29th will be an Incredible day" followed up with "Don't ask any questions" I didn't pry but with getting similar information from 3 different people, 2 out of the 3 working in different states I am going to say last week of April will be INCREDIBLE!!!
Again I am only going of what my sources are telling me.

So hypothetically, BestBuy is probably going to carry the Incredible starting the 25th and Verizon stores will start carrying it the 29th? And if I have a NE2 on a family plan, is BestBuy going to be able to give me the phone at that discounted price? If not, I guess 4 days wont kill me, I've been waiting months.
