I'm not saying it is impossible that is was him, but all I am saying is that there is an equally real chance it wasn't him and that we should take everything we hear from random twitterers [sic?], and VZW reps with a grain of salt. I am quite positive that it was him, not that he gave any information other than what a person who has used the device hands on feels about it.

Yes, a phone that has massive revenue potential tied to it. We are putting Mr. Singh at great rish by asking him to give us anything more than he already has. I know a lot of you here work in companies that release new products and we all have rules about what we are allowed to discuss. I vote we respect Mr. Singh and not pressure him. Lets put the pressure on Verizon instead and let Sarab stay up on his throne of awesomeness

I said it once, and ill say it again: somethings better than nothing.

I personally enjoy having possible outcomes to discuss and follow (better than a dead forum with no posts). If it doesn't pan out to be true, then oh well, i don't lose anything other than a little excitement (which would not have been there anyways if those rumors/speculations from "sources" weren't stated to begin with). To me, these "sources" are just as valid as a random blog stating they heard something from a "person close to Google" where one blog rumor gets reiterated by hundreds of other blogs, thus supposedly making it more true. That person that spoke with a VZW rep could have easily posted something on a blog and said "Sources very close to Verizon".. and everyone would hit the ground running with that rumor. Just my take on it.

I don't have access to those sort of inventory systems but I can tell you that the screen shots going around with those skus listed are absolutley legit. One is a dummy unit, ending in du and the other one is a the working phone. When will be getting this? Hard to say. I would bet within the next two months. We will have both the Incredible and Nexus One coming out this spring.

So, Fear not yet.........We have two close sources saying March, April!
He says he would bet within the next two months, but says they will both be coming out this Spring. Spring starts Mar 20 and ends Jun 20. So in effect, a Spring release is pretty much April-June timeframe. Early May would actually be a little less than halfway into Spring so as disappointing as it is, it's probably accurate. Would you expect otherwise? I mean, when has Verizon not disappointed us with a decision?

Something is NOT necessarily better than nothing. If we have some poser taking our blind-trusting, desperate souls down a path of saying what we all want to hear, then I'd take nothing ANY DAY. I am NOT saying that this is the case here with Sarab - just be careful what you wish for, that's all. Those of you who were here for the "newsradio" debacle can relate to what I am talking about here. We're very wary now of people like Sarab, that's all. Trust - but verify.

Well, from all the pictures, it looks like it is still in the hands of HTC, so it still has to get to Verizon for the infamous testing. So maybe HTC is holding Verizon back a little bit getting it to them.

Newsradio wasn't totally wrong. I am not here to defend him. He talked about a friendstream I think and the below photo come from flickr in Jan from a person taking photos with Bravo. I could be way off here.

No one is blindtrusting anyone. Its not like youre signing your soul away, you are not LOSING ANYTHING. If you choose not to believe it, thats totally fine. No one is forcing it onto you. Did you take into consideration my example? Same situation here. I'm not going to jump in 100% and say, "i know hes telling the truth - im willing to bet my life on it".. no. But another rumor to possibly follow is fine with me. In the end, a rumor is a rumor - regardless of who's saying.. whether its Engadget claiming they talked to some unknown source that's friends with Eric Schmidt or a random member on here. Nothing is concrete until an official announcement is made. So as with all rumors, you obviously would be naive to fully trust it, however, following it for what it's worth is not harming anyone including yourself. I think you said it best in your last line.. trust but verify. But when the means to verify aren't possible, then you take whats out there

Yeah... it's just frustrating as hell. The guy blitzes on the scene yesterday and now we're reduced to wonder what the hell just happened, exactly. I have to hand it to you guys in here though - the amount of detective work to obtain the information that we DO have in here has been absolutely stellar!! Nothing else on the web comes close to the tenacity found in this thread, that's for sure!

No he talked about wireless media sync. I thank you for trying to defend him, but he was completely wrong.

That I agree with you. Definitely frustrating.. but hey, we've waited this long through all the rumors, so a month (wishfully thinking) or two (lets hope not) isn't much longer!

No, he said inner circle, which sounds like friendstream. Can we please let this go, and can we please not chase away other people as well?

woop is right. Take a post for what it's worth. You can ignore it instead of attacking people.

In addition to Android 2.1, the update will also include a new Friend Stream widget that enables you to keep up with social network, like Facebook or Twitter, and improve Microsoft Exchange support. Sounds like another great improvement for Android and another device to get the 2.1 update. Are our Hero friends out there excited?!?!? for Android and another device to get the 2.1 update. Nothing monumental to announce here, but I just got off the phone with an acquaintance that is a rep for Verizon. In this thread, the statement was made that Verizon reps probably don't know much more than us at this point, but at the same time they may know more before we do. Here's what he had to say. . . . .
Due to the multitouch bug (among others) with the Nexus 1, Verizon has delayed the release until next month, possible the end of this month. (I know this has happened before with other releases through Verizon, so I tend to believe there's some truth to his statement. Verizon is well known for delaying releases until all known bugs have been worked out.)
He also told me that I will be able to buy the Nexus 1 through Verizon and they will offer support for the phone.
Unfortunately, as far as the Incredible is concerned, he has only heard of it, but been told absolutely nothing from Verizon.
He asked me to let him know if I hear more about either phone and he said he would call me the moment he knows anything more.
Take it with a grain of salt, but here's hoping he comes through for me (us). He also told me that once he receives any feedback from Verizon's testers, he'll fill me in and advise me one way or another.
At the very least, hopefully I planted a little bug in his ear and maybe he can squeeze some info from his supervisors, reps, etc.

It also could be that he can't tell us anything else. It would be pretty easy to track him down if HTC wanted to, seeing that his name is plastered all over this thread. I doubt we will hear much from him anymore, maybe a couple of "its coming soon and it is awesome" but these companies try to make sure things aren't leaked.

SO, now the Nexus One is delayed until April and the Incredible is coming in May??!!?? These phones better be able to tap into some alien network and call UFO's to my exact location, because I am waiting a long time for a freaking phone. I wish Verizon would hurry up with something new.

Figured it'd be worth a try, especially if the employees were being informed about the N1 and what to say to customers asking for it, etc. (I think someone said this earlier, or to that effect?)

This is a long shot but I e-mailed VZW about my new every 2 upgrade. I came right out with the Incredible and asked about all this *hit haha. I'll let you know what response I get. If it is anything good and or new I will gladly forward the official e-mail to anyone who wants it. I doubt they will say anything new, but with each new VZW rep saying little bits and pieces, it can't hurt.

Plus I was bored lol.

How could there be a bug with multitouch if HTC took if from Apple? HAHA

Maybe somebody on here could apply for a job at HTC to get us some info. Looks like something big coming to sprint later with that position. Probably know Supersonic any time soon.

Over 2630 posts and I wonder how many are actually about the Incredible, and not about things like some mystery guy, newsradio, or apple lawsuits?

Wait where is everyone getting this information of all these phones now getting delayed??

I heard someone post the Incredible was coming out in March because thats what a VZW rep told him but who said anything about Nexus One coming in April now?

Then again, we never had any real confirmed dates of when the phones would be released except for that March 23rd from the google insider which seems a lot more credible than all these random sayings.

Feel free to go back and count. Be sure and add your last post in that total.

Back OT - I don't think the Apple lawsuit will affect anything already in the pipe or even anything this year. It would be nice if we had some confirmation that VZW was testing the Incredible at the moment, but so far it looks like it is still in HTC's hands.

Judging by the response I received, VZW is testing several new devices. If the Incredible is to launch soon then I am sure they are testing it.

Not saying Leo Laporte couldn't be wrong, but he also said March 23. He probably has better inside moles than we do, and we keep hearing the 23rd, so I am pretty confident that it will be released in a conference similar to the way the N1 was released for T-Mobile, and hopefully will be brought into Verizon stores shortly thereafter.

Okay, I just got a message on a social networking site from a very Incredible source. He/she reports that the Incredible will be available end of April, early May. I trust this source a little more than others. So, that Verizon rep, who say May, probably isn't too far off. Which makes me sad!

I thought Google was still considering the idea of fixing the multi touch problem with an OTA update? Not saying youre wrong by any means, but am I missing something? Droid's multitouch not the same as Nexus One's (and there's a reason for that) | Android Central

Well atleast he said the end of this month which still means it can come as planned March 23rd

Anyways, multitouch issue is software based so it should be a quick fix. I think thats why google went with T-mobile as their first carrier. Just use them as a guinea pig and fix out and find out the kinks with the phone. Then release it to other carriers like Verizon

Shame though that the rep didn't know anything bout the Incredible. Grrrr just release the phone or do some advertising so they sell more

lol it's not confirmed, nothing is really confirmed until we officially hear it from them ourselves.

He got the information from a rep he messaged, but the rep still states end of this month or early next money which would probably put it on track still for the march 23rd release date.

Also, multitouch bug can easily be cure with software hehe

Ya I didn't really mean confirmed - more from a credible source. And my bad, I didn't read his post carefully enough. I thought that he just threw the nexus 1 delay out there and that it was big news or something. I didn't realize that all of this, including the nexus 1 delay, was coming from his VZW rep.
