Hi All, finally bit the bullet and registered after long time lurking! Happy about what I have seen posted today!!!!! Went by Verizon earlier, the guy knew nothing and said "Hey, I could hook you up with a Devour" UGGGHHHHHHHH
This is like a suspense thriller. In the end all of the puzzle pieces come together. We'll get an official announcement on the 17th (Gotta get NKT's date in there) with a Verizon release on the 22nd, and a BB release the 29th.

Reason: 29th not 19th

I'll be a BRAND new customer to VZW with this phone. What's the usual protocol when they launch? Who usually gets the FLAGSHIP phone first? Thanks!
I believe with the Droid launch they had it in stores and online the same day (plus I think Best Buy). Some VZW stores even opened early on launch day to make sure people could get them right away.
This isn't me, I am just reporting what I heard: Well According to a VZW rep Best Buy sells pre-tested, and -used phones instead of the new phone you perceive you're buying. Don't hate the messenger.
was told the same thing by a VZW store manager about wirefly. total bull. they're not legally allowed to reset the life timer of the phones (nor do they have the technology at the stores), and i've had a number of wirefly phones and checked personally.

Honestly it's all a toss up. The stores released the Droid previous to Verizon, and then there's been times that Verizon stores have had a phone first and even other times where Verizon online was the first to have it. From the looks of that image posted, it really looks like an official announcement will come around the 25th with the release of the new circular with the phone coming out on 4/29. If that is just relating to Best Buy- it can come out earlier in the VZW stores or online.
- probably doesn't tell you much, but honestly I don't think anyone here can give you a definitive answer as there really is no pattern for one to draw from.
FOR ALL THAT CAN'T SEE THE PIC OR WANNA CATCH UP--
The pics confirm Verizon is going to release the Incredible 04/29- they will start advertising 04/25 in a circular to be released for all the phones. All they are saying on these pics is talking about the plan for marketing (releases in 4/25 circular and will be available in all stores)There is not any actual information as to the way the phone looks or specs. But the one thing confirmed- it will be called the incredible (why else would it be referred to as the incredible? )
I'd like to add something to thing. Best Buy will have the incredible on 4/29 all of these new images are for Besy Buy not VZW. VZW themself could either release/have the phone before or after and could start advertising before or after.
The images are only when Best Buy will start advertising and release the phone not VZW.

Yes Mr. Smoofy thanks for pointing that out for the others- all those images are related to Best Buy's circular.
Hi, Everyone. I'm a first time poster, but have been drooling over this phone (and this thread) since late February when my company took away my smartphone and replaced it with a Blackberry. Every time I look at this Blackberry it makes me mad. I absolutely hate it. I've been waiting to purchase the Incredible and will be carrying it around along with my company Blackberry, since they do not allow Corporate email on a personal device.
Anyways, I saw the following ad on Craigslist: Seller: "Droid Eris for sale. I am a represenative for Verizon Wireless and I would like to sell my Droid Eris. I have the box with the bar code still attached to it. Email me at xxxx@xxxx.xxx for more details. I have always had a screen protector and case on the phone. Also included are the wall and car charger. No contract required"
I replied:" Hi,
I am very excited for the HTC Incredible to be released. I was just curious if that is the reason you are selling your Eris.
Thanks."
Seller: "partially"
I replied: "Haha! I knew it...What can you tell me about it? I've been following it since late February, and really thought it would be announced at the CTIA at the end of March. The latest news that I'm hearing is pointing towards an April 25-29th release....
Thanks."

So that is as far as the conversation has gone so far. Not much, I know. I'll let you know if he replies.

Well DAMN! I have some new info that I can't get to paste here. It was emailed to me a few minutes ago, and it's BB's "Current Handset Line Up (What's In)" On the VERY first line it reads EXACTLY as follows:
HTC Incredible Launch: 04/29/10 Store type: All
Does this refer to all Best Buys or all stores selling verizon phones. Is there still a chance corporate stores will have it earlier?
Since I will probably have to purchase at full price since my NE2 is not even close (Oct is earliest I can get a discount) can I use my reward zone card at BB for Phone purchases?
So, what are the chances that HTC does not ship enough of the Incredible for the launch, and only the first few people in the door to their respective store on launch day actually get a phone. I mean, is the Incredible launch going to rival stuff like the PS3 and Wii, when we all had to wait in line, camp out, just to get one. Do you think we can stroll into a store a week after this thing launches and still be able to get one, or will they be..dare I say..out of stock!
Do we know how much this baby is going to cost??? I may have missed it?
does it really matter?
I think I saw a FEW posts back that it was PROBABLY going to be at the magic $199 after rebate, etc, w/2yr agreement of course... full retail showed $599 I believe from an earlier image post...?

It depends if they try to hype this up. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there was a shortage on the droid even with all the marketing.

The problem is that we still don't know enough about whats going on. We don't know if there will be any special marketing event surrounding the device, if Verizon stores will open early, if there will be pre-ordering ect
As for the questions of will Verizon stores launch it sooner than BBY... I worked at Best Buy Wireless for a little over a year, and I can say that MOST of the time the phone came out in the Carrier Stores first. There are of course exceptions (Devour I guess), I didn't pay one bit of attention to the Devour so I'm going off what everyone else said in that regard.
