Some Verizon guy back in November commented that $199 is the new maximum price point for all phones going forward. I think with the data plan subscription requirement, Verizon has positioned themselves to make out nicely despite the subsidy such that there's no need to price the phones any higher. I'll bet you $199 that it'll be $199 for a 2 year contract.

Verizon has offered me and a few other people in select markets and early upgrade offer from a regular phone to a smart phone... so they definitely seem like they are more concerned with getting people on a data plan.

Why don't you two get a cup of Hot Java and then explain the April 10th date to me. My world is having a polar shift if dates are changing for the release. I can only take so much. I can't afford more probation.. (mods/admin)

I don't know if we ever got any kind of confirmation on the type of AMOLED display being used in the Incredible or the Desire for that matter. So, the question remains if we'll be getting the same Pentile matrix AMOLED display that the Nexus One has. Just an FYI for everyone, if we get no real investigative confirmation up to the release day, I have every intention of getting to the bottom of this immediately. I work in a facility that has high mag optical inspection with digital imaging capabilities. I intend to slip the phone under the microscope early in the morning and snap a few high res shots of the subpixels. Will probably need a flashlight app to force illumination of all the subpixels, but at least we'll have our answer without relying on some hocus pocus supplier part number matching. Will post to this forum when I get my answer. Anyone know if the Android market has a flashlight app?

Price of a soda pop and candy bar that you bought for the wait in line with the dozens of other Incredible junkies: $2.00

Gassing up the car to head down to your local Verizon store: $40.00

The bundle of cash that you brought with you for your new Incredible and all the goodies: $400.00

The look on Steven58's face as you turn around with your new Incredible in hand, and hearing the helpful salesman sadly inform Steven (who's standing next in line behind you) that you just bought their very last Incredible of that shipment: PRICELESS!!!

Congrats, my friend!

Don't the flashlight apps just use the camera's flash, not light up all the pixels?

His was activated last June w/o contract because it was a phone we had purchased outright off of ebay. Anyway, he's been eligible for an "upgrade at a discounted price" according to VZW pretty much since we activated the phone. I had always assumed it was a "NE2" because that's how it was worded. And when I used that Best Buy upgrade checker that was posted on here yesterday or the day before, it showed that both lines were eligible for an upgrade and discount. So my question is, what discount amount would normally be available on a second line? I've heard several folks say that you don't get two NE2's so what does the second line get?

Thanks in advance!
The way I have seen it work is this: the primary line on a family plan gets the NE2 discount, which is based on the plan you have and when you signed on. You can use your NE2 discount at the 2 year mark (actually, they let you use it at 20 months, so it's a little less than 2 yrs). You can upgrade after one yr at the promotional pricing, but you only get to use the NE2 discount if it's been 20 months. The secondary lines are eligible for promotional pricing on upgrades at the 1 year mark or 2 year mark, but they don't get the additional NE2 discount. Hope this all makes sense, not sure I explained it too well!

I guess this is a good phone. For People that dont want:

*the largest screen available
I prefer something that can actually fit in my pocket

*dont want dual cameras (Or the opportunity to video call)
I'm sure the quality will be fine with the current technology we have now. It would be more of an audio call with giant pixels of your face

*HDMI output
Because I totally connect my phone to my TV

*720 recording
Don't we have the capability?

*Mobile Hotspot
Wireless Tether via Root..and did I mention it's free?

*4G Speeds that wont be available on Verizon till this time next year at earliest
VZW will have 1/3 of the country covered by the end of this year. How about you Sprint? (source)

For those that dont give a shit bout such things(when they probably will years from now) this is the phone for you. For those who want the Greatest…We’ll be in line for the EVO
My responses and dammit my picture showed up:

You are an idiot. The screed (LED) is $hit. Who video conferences from their cell phone? (and most likely if you are you are roaming on a VZW tower Douchebag). HDMI? I don’t even have my DVD player or DVR on HDMI so why would I with my cell phone (enjoy paying for a proprietary chord a$$hole). Everything looks 720p on a 3.7-4.3 inch screen dumbass. Mobile hotspot? Seriously? Look how that worked out for the Palm Pre Plus. Sprint 4G is available in limited areas and where it is available is still limited. They are TESTING IT dumbass so don’t expect any 4G support.

Here's the information on the early upgrade I am eligible for. A CSR on the phone confirmed my account is eligible, and my dad told me he received something in the mail yesterday regarding it.

Disclaimer: Before clicking on this link, it has nothing to do with the Incredible specifically. Just saying, no new information regarding that here. However, if you live in Northern California, Upstate New York, Central Texas, or Ohio/Penn it may interest you.

How early of an upgrade did you get? I'm curious because I'm not close to my NE2 yet, but I was planning on buying one via Annual Upgrade..

Well, I just got an email today from my Verizon source. She said that the Incredible will be available on the 27th. I've dealt with a lot of Verizon reps the past few years b/c of my blackberry phones and she has been the only one that I could really trust, so I'm hoping she is right.

Anyway, just thought I would add to the rumor mill. LOL.
The 27th makes complete sense to me with training rumored to begin late this week and the BB (maybe Costco) available date the 29th as reported. Verizon stores would have a 2 day head start. PLUS we've all heard the 2 weeks thing, well 2 weeks from the 27th is today.

I just thought of somethin' guys. This may start OT but it will come back. Remember when the first Iron Man movie came out? Verizon had a tie in with an LG phone for that movie (the phone that twisted and looked like a T for watching video). Iron Man 2 is coming out on May 7th. Do you suppose Verizon might have a similar agreement in effect? If so they would definitely have to release it before the movie came out. What do ya think, sound nuts or not. Let the speculation begin.

Sorry, just saw that Droidseeker posted this waaaay back.

So... I woke up from my nap..no wait I mean I got out of criminal law last night.... came home, went to bed, got up, went to work.... finally get to the computer.... and....................NO INCREDIBLE????!!!!!! I was having a dream that today was the day. I liked that dream.

I don't like to wait. I NEED this phone. I WANT this phone. Waiting does NOT get easier with age. I am not some spoiled rotten 20 something kid.... I should be able to wait... but I can't.

Oh yeah....you can add another girl to the list. If it takes much longer for this phone to come out all you guys will be outnumbered.

I totally brought that up last week, Isoror responded with something along the lines of Iron Man being an epic fail

Ok so this is too funny!

As I awaited more Incredible news, I got bored and decided to make a "No Thanks" button that would look like this site's "Thanks" button.

In the time that it took me to make it, the button changed!

Here it is:

Guess I'm just too slow
