It is unfortunate that they didn't release the accessories for the Incredible months ago cause we could all be stocked up and have everything we need for the phone when it FINALLY gets here. Oh wait... that wouldn't work cause it was just last week that it didn't exist right? We would be buying accessories for our pretend phone.

I just thought of something.... if they release @ 199. I have a rebate card from the droid my son got..$100. plus I have a $50 upgrade credit... so for me I will have an INCREDIBLE phone for only $49!!

IMO, if there is a factor that points against soft touch, it's the color gradient, but I'm not sure even that's a big deal these days. Based on how the camera protrudes, I'm guessing this isn't so much an additional cover as a replacement for the original.
Oh really? I have never seen a soft touch snap on, it seems a little weird to picture. However, if they are out there then I guess it could still be soft touch, that gives some hope .

Has anyone else found that while they wanted the phone pretty badly before coming to this forum, now that they are here they come here multiple times an hour grasping for news straws? Cause that's what happened to me haha.

Cause if you liked Motorola phones you would be sporting a shiny new Droid and the HTC Incredible thread would not even be a bleep on your radar. Think Devour.... humm......you could already have one of those.

Ah, nice. That would be great. Especially if it is a replacement... I'd rather not add any additional bulk to the phone, and probably won't buy anything that does so.

I'm thinking we'll see 900 pages before this thing is released... 750 when it is announced, the following 150 created out of pure hype/anticipation.

The gmail account you use to register your phone with does not work with the sense ui mail widget. BUT, any other gmail accounts does.

On my Hero, I have 2 gmail accounts, an exchange account and a Yahoo account. One of the gmail accounts, I used to register my phone. All my other accounts are handled by the Sense UI mail widget.

Edit: Before I got my Hero, I only had 1 gmail account. Just before I got my Hero, I created a second gmail account just for Android phone registations. This account is the account that the Android Market is tied to.

Haha. I checked out the stuff on the Shadow as well, but I didn't really get into it from what I read and saw.

For me it came down to two major points.

1) I don't like the physical design of what we've seen of the Shadow in the photos. It is too angular and industrial for me. Same reason I don't like the Motorola Droid, or some Sony products. While I can appreciate that particular kind of style, and why it may be appealing to some, they are a little too utilitarian for me.

2) The Shadow features MotoBlur on top of Android, as opposed to Sense UI. I was able to check both out, and I hated MotoBlur. I loooved Sense UI. MotoBlur was busy and cluttered, and ugly in my opinion. Sense is really attractive to me, and I think the software design and flow is really smart.

I still don't particularly like the beveled design on the back of the Incredible, but I love the front. It's all a delicate balance for me, haha. For example, I also don't like the overly rounded "pebble" shape of the Palm Pre any more than I like the angled design of the Droid. The Incredible is a perfect balance, sans the weird back.

Money

Holy crap! I just remembered I had a $100 gift card from Best Buy! I'm already under contract and received a letter saying I could upgrade early. I always went to our local b&m vwz store. Can I still go to Best Buy instead and use my gift card too? Thatd really be awesome as my finances are tight. Will they also let me change my phone number at a Best Buy? Does that cost extra? Certain ppl can't have my number anymore. Thanks for the help guys! I'm so excited about this phone

Two people in my office just recently picked up the Droid. I'm hoping to make them regret it when the Inc comes out. Sorry but the Droid looks like a piece of luggage to me.

If I have a gmail and a yahoo account, I can only get gmail to "push" email to me, right? So which account should I set up with the Sense UI widget? I was hoping to consolidate the 2 accounts and just have all my yahoo mail forwarded to gmail to take advantage of the push.

It was a really heavy phone! Plus.... I got tired of saying...."Can you hear me now?" The os was great.... the browser speed was fabulous... at least compared to the tour.... but I really NEED a phone...and that was one of the worst ones I have EVER had. I am hoping I can have it all with the Incredible.

All my email accounts "push" to me. I don't have to manually sync my email accounts.

Been following this thread for a couple weeks. First off, I want to thank everyone for the input and secret covert-op ninja tactics being used to acquire all the info thus far and share it with me

And I also have a question: my NE2 isn't up until July, but Verizon offered me that promotion where since I have a stupid phone (dare), i can upgrade to a smartphone with discounted pricing if it is before the end of the month. So would i get the NE2 discount? (hopefully 200 for the incredible?)... and also, can i use this promotion at BB or online? (because the promotion ends at the end of the month and i'm scared local verizon stores won't have enough in stock for me).

Thanks!

Dude, you sure the extended battery requires an extended back cover as well? I was under the impression the battery maintains OEM form factor, and one could use the stock battery cover with the extended battery. Not adding any extra thickness to the phone. After all, there 'entire' back plate comes off which covers the battery. I think the battery containment area is the largest on any HTC device to date. I'm hoping this is the case, and I don't have to use some custom, extended thickness battery cover.

I have 3 different Gmail accounts... will I be able to have each of those separately on this phone?

(I know, 3 Gmail accounts seems excessive... but 2 are for businesses and 1 is personal.)

Usually, the only extended batteries that can use the stock cover are from 3rd parties (and these will never be sold in Verizon stores or their web site), and are usually about 200mAh higher in capacity, while true extended batteries that need a bigger battery cover can give you much longer battery life.

I remember when the Dare came out... remember the commercials? That thing was the hottest phone out there...... I got it.... and it was not long before I developed a love hate relationship with it. By the time I got rid of it I hated it. But after using the tour for the past month+..... I am starting to think the dare was not so bad after all......

And back on topic.... I hope that is not the way it will go with the Incredible.... I would never want to hate it. We have built this thing up to be such an awesome piece of equipment.... I hope it can live up to it's name.

Yeah, i swear it seems like someone snuck in a couple extra weeks into April, just to make it take longer to get to the 2?th....

Thanks!
If your NE2 is due in June, you're eligible now for the upgrade at whatever new promo rate they have, but you would not get your NE2 and that clock starts over again, AND there is a 25 upgrade charge. Assuming your VOICE plan (NOT INCLUDING DATA) is OVER 40 bucks an month, you can get an upgrade every year at the 'new' contract price (plus the aforementioned $25)

I was under the impression that with Android 2.1 (and previous versions) that only Gmail pushed while others (such as Yahoo) needed to be pulled from the server in intervals (e.g. every 15 minutes). Is this incorrect?

Man I remember when the Dare was the hot $hit when it came out. I was so excited to get it. It's honestly served me quite well for almost a full 2 years. Granted its limited in its abilities, it has served its purpose quite well.

I just wonder what it will be like in 2more years and I'm saying on some forum..."god Ive had this incredible for 2 years Im so stuck in the past with this thing" Ha I can't even imagine it...it just seems like it will never happen.....but it will.....its inevitable.

Yes, you can have all 3 gmail accounts on your phone. One of them (the personal account?) will be needed to register and setup your phone with. This account will have the Android Market tied to it and is managed by the Gmail application.

I guess the other 2 accounts can also be managed by the Gmail application, but I recommend setting them up using the HTC mail application. It's real easy to switch between accounts and the HTC mail application displays embedded HTML.

In the HTC mail application, switch between accounts just tap the arrow beside the Account Name and select the account you want to switch to.
