I agree with montana about having the source before you post. But I enjoy this kind of information anyways. Just make sure you say take this for whats its worth and dont say it as fact. It wont be fact until it is announced. And I know somtimes you cant reveal the source as that person can get in trouble. Thanks for the info.

Any date for annoucement/advertisments/release? You can't give the specs without ram and processor speed.
The thought of Verizon (or any carrier) integration other then something to see your plan/minutes/bill makes me queezy.

i respectfully disagree with ruben. i can understand people posting information, but not being able to fully disclose their source. and i do believe that posting history should be taken into account for situations like these.
but i also would like a compromise on the source. we're not saying give us a full name (including middle name) of your source, plus their employee ID. just what kind of source is it? a tester? a vzw high up? are you the source but don't want to give yourself away? etc.

NKT, I am not sure exactly how many of the 87 pages of this thread you are familiar with, but if your big news is that you know that the Incredible is being tested by VZW in the wild - well, with all due respect, that same info can be found about 50 pages back.

No date that I know of. It was just released for testing.
I don't have specifics on processor or ram, hence their absence. When I find out I'll pass it on.
The "VZW" integration is probably the same as on the other droids in that it has a tab on the market for VZW apps.

To a large extent, I agree with mcbtrain; posting history / cred should be taken into account in a situation like this. Indeed, there may be very valid reasons as to why, depending on the source of NKT's info, certain things just can't be posted here at this time. Given his history, let's cut him some slack until there is a concrete reason not to. IMHO, this is much different than some n00b showing up and claiming to know everything about the Incredible.
If you believe him, great. He may turn out to be a source of valuable information. If not, fine, but no need to start flaming until/unless proven a fake. Just my $.02, so take it for what it's worth.

No, I didn't read all 4k posts. Since about 3953 of them are full of pure speculation, they're not worth a lot.
I'm saying the device is being tested by the people that test all new VZW phone prior to launch. If they're testing it, that means that the software build and hardware is pretty much finalized.
Take it for what it's worth...

My friend works for Verizon Wireless as a high up in marketing. He flies back and forth between LA and NYC all the time. He is in town right now and I'll see him on Thursday. Last time I tried asking anything, the subject was changed within seconds and he wouldn't tell me anything other than saying, "I can't tell you that kind of information.". I think I'm going to take these specs with me on Thursday just to see his reaction. Perhaps he'll slip me something if he thinks I already know. Hmmmm.

Completely agree with all other posters who believe an individual's history/cred should play a role and i have no problem with lack of "source link" or whatever (as if info sources all somehow have magical links!). However, as everyone around here knows, when you come out of nowhere swinging your caaack in everyone's face with info like that (read: info we'd all give a left nut for) you have to be damn sure you make the appropriate declarations and state caveats.
Having said that, NKT, i think you've accomplished that and i see no reason to flame you (....yet...i hope it stays that way!). Find out what you can, and report back. Observe and report soldier! Obviously the info we're most interested in is exact CPU and RAM.
Take the flak with a grain of salt...all this stuff is so very important to us and everyone is just on edge having been burned before. We all have, justifiably, a "trust but verify" mentality.

Hold crud! I figured once this phone was out, I wouldn't be coming around this forum anymore (just being honest). However, I then realized... Hell, I want a forum to run to in case there are issues, questions, etc. that other users might be able to help with.

I know I am! I've been waiting for this phone since I first heard of it last year...
I'll share what I can when I can. But it has to be known that not everything can be completely sourced for some (hopefully) obvious reasons.

NKT's post-history aside, the thing that points out it is most likely legit is all the VZW integration. They LOVE adding in their stuff. They integrated the Storm and other BBs as well with their version of maps, VZW tones, V Cast Videos, etc. You can't even delete them from the phone unless you download unofficial releases of the OS. The only thing you can do is hide them.
To me that provided all the "proof" I personally needed.
My question is, if it's still in a testers hand, how could it be released in the beginning of April which is about 3 weeks away. Seems like too short of a time period to me.
