I actually hope this is the production model. I rather like the red accent around the camera.

VERY similar to the N1 and Droid. Had all 3 lined up and they look the same. It seems a wee bit thinner than the Moto.

I thought the contoured back looked horrendous when it was red now that it is flat black it looks way better and I don’t even mind anymore

So we're lookin' at less than .54 thick but at least .45. Not a bad range, still thinner than my .65 enV2 lol

Might you have one of the front? Possibly with the screen lit up?

I have a few questions....

Unless I missed something....the battery in this phone will be a bit lower in capacity than that of the N1...at 1300mh...correct?

How likely is it that a higher capacity battery will be released for this phone?

Do the higher capacity batteries out there in the marketplace actually provide extended times and perform up to OEM standard?

Do higher capacity batteries tend to require a larger back cover...and would that also be likely available?

The soft finish by HTC is awesome....I assume that if a larger battery cover were to be required for an extended battery...the original soft cover finish would not be available in a larger back cover...correct?

Finally, I see you guys talking about bringing the clock speed back up on this processor....would you also be looking for a larger battery if you were to do this?

I know I've asked a lot of questions...and they are a bit off topic...but I think they are pertinent to what has been discussed here today. I'm much more excited about this phone....just wondering if it will be slower than the N1.

Thanks!

Ok, my faith has been restored! It's amazing what a minor change from gloss red to flat black can do. What was once overwrought and child-like has become sleek and purposeful. With this new info, I'm firmly back in the Incredible camp. The N1 had me for a bit, but I'm back.

NKT, is the HTC Incredible using AMOLED screen at 800x480 like the one used for the Nexus 1? I would love to see a picture of the front in you have one available. Thanks for the great news today. I only had to dig through 99 pages to get some real information-hehe.

I would if I thought the gains in speed and efficiency justified it, but if everything runs very smooth and fast on it at 768 and the battery life is decent enough, then I see no reason to mess with it.

I'm a big fan of Seidio cases and accessories. They've developed a pattern of releasing two extended batteries for new phones. One, a slightly higher capacity one that fits under the stock cover and another that's about twice the original capacity and requires a (provided) extended back. I've been using their extended-capacity-but-stock-size battery in my HTC Touch for a long time, and it will get me through about 2.5 days of light use. That's the way I plan on going here, as I can't stand a fat phone.

Check their Nexus One accessories: http://www.seidioonline.com/category-s/4025.htm

N1 stock battery is 1400 mAh. Seidio's stock size extended option is 1600. And they have a 3200 big mamma if you're ok with an extended back.

I'll chime in for the part i have experience with...
For my old Treo 700wx i bought an extended Seidio battery which was 40% more density and feel like i got about 40% more battery life (it was a 3200 MaH battery!). It was the same size as OEM (same batter cover) and lasted the 4 years i had the phone so overall i was very very pleased with mine.

I'm starting to think that this phone, much more so than the N1, is what struck the fear of God in them and prompted their response. Stevie Hand-Job and Apple are going to be in for a rude awakening.

Prob. not. I mean did they cripple the droid or eris? (i'm asking because I don't have either) I think they will be more open with Google, unlike ATT

Thanks Guys...for the battery replies. This thread is moving fast and time constraints/laziness prevent me from looking at the N1 to see where it's clocked. But IF the N1 were clocked faster...and is really faster....then it makes sense people might want to up the clock speed here too...but only IF it really makes a significant difference. And...I can tell you know I'm probably gonna be a big sissy when it comes to messing with a phone. But again...IF it were to be something I might want to do...then a larger capacity battery might be in order. And the battery info is awesome. I like that there are stock sized - increased capacity batteries. I'm back to lurkin! Thanks!

Just a thought, but since this thread is like so totally getting too big, maybe we should just created a new post for like every spec that NKT has released today...what do you think? Wouldn't that be the best use of our time? So that i could click into 50 different threads today? Thoughts?

No. Hell when I had my Droid I dont remember one Verizon app one it (maybe visual voicemail). Though they had their own heading in the App Market. Nothing was crippled on the phone. Verizon gave that stuff up around the time they launched the Storm 1.

So we now we have new information in the N1 vs. Incredible battle

Incredible:
8 MP camera
HTC Sense UI
Optical Trackpad

N1:
Better looking phone (at least in my Opinion)
Faster Stock Processor
Bigger Battery
Faster To recieve updates

Decisions, Decisions

So ever so slightly smaller then the N1 except for thickness.

Technically the N1 is clocked faster, the processor is the same speed. Is the battery that big of a difference? What is it, 1300 to 1400? Not much of a choice to me, unless the incredible is going to be 2 months behind the N1, though I doubt it as Q2 is almost upon us.

Yes, is anyone keeping score of the specs NKT has given us on the device so far? It would be nice to have them listed in one concise post after all has been said and done. Thanks!

I hear ya! But I think waiting a bit...maybe see the front of the phone before making that judgment. I remember the Eris has a very nice feel in the hand...and so it sounds like this will be similar. From what people are saying here...it's just as well to get a spare Seidio battery and use it as the primary...and have the OEM for back up. Can't argue on updates...and really don't want to argue. I just think things got much closer. And don't forget the Incredible will have an FM Tuner...kind of neat in way...I think? Ha!

Edit: Oh...and the Incredible will be sold and serviced by Verizon! Bam!
