Agreed, i have a Droid now and it seems that it's at least as big as that. Camera angle could be playing tricks or something but it looks to be at least 3.7.
Also, it looks really really thin! I'd love for some Photoshop guru to render this thing up based on what we've seen and maybe try to extrapolate thickness based on what the camera is showing.
I'm also hoping that RAM is bumped up to what the HD2 has. Perhaps it's also "hidden" in some way and can be unlocked with new ROM.
I'm anxious to hear more about:
* Processor clock
* exact RAM
* Wireless N?
* Multitouch (right away? in all apps?)
* FM (transmit and/or receive)
* What makes it Dolby, Xvid/Divx, etc...there has to be something new to that
* More about faceplate; can it be swapped? is that the final design? other color available?

Now we are talking. I know its still early, but what do you think the weight of this phone going to be? Compared to the Moto Droid at 5.96 ounces and the Nexus One 4.58 ounces w/ battery.

I agree to the back cover..I hope they will change it when they release the phone.
This might be more of a prototype. Notice that there is no Verizon branding on the front or back which a production VZW phone wouldn't be seen without.
My requests: More Ram...how about 512. I don't understand why they would ruin a perfectly good phone that can multi task and not put in enough RAM A black back A decent release date physical buttons?
How much onboard storage memory or ROM? If that's how people like to refer to it.
Is this gonna be our version of the Bravo as has been a pretty popular theory, or is this an entirely separate phone? The fact that it has an optical track pad and similar specs, seems like it's plausible. However, to answer the question about touch or physical buttons, from some of the pics and I think even in the video it appears the buttons are touch buttons. You kind of see them lit up at certain points, so this would be a deviation from the Bravo design.
The optical track pad also looks different than the Bravo's. To put it the best way I can, The Incredible looks more like an optical track "ball" where as the Bravo looks more like a "pad" or flatter surface. That's only going off what I see in the pics and video though, which are all very dark on the bottom end of the phone so it's hard to tell.
I also don't like the back, agree with the others who think it's ugly. I'd have to see it in person to decide for sure, but I'm fairly certain. Hopefully this gets changed or has options, but I don't know why I've always considered phones with interchangeable back / front covers sort of cheap looking.
The RAM dissapoints me to, and I hope we haven't seen the final number. I'd like it to equal the N1, or I'm gonna have a hard time buying it over the N1. I'm spec obsessed, so if I know there's a stronger option spec wise, I'll really have hard time buying something with lower specs.
Hopefully the screen is 3.7" at a minimum as well.
Other question is that if this is NOT the U.S. Bravo, then will we still be seeing the Bravo over here on some carrier, or will that just never come to the U.S.?
Nice looking phone either way, and exciting to see some new news.
Got to get back to the Super Bowl, but the red back ruined it for me. I was looking forward to a big sense device that looked like the Bravo, but it kinda ruined it for me. Sorry, VZW. I'll just go with your Nexus unless you change the back to something more...black.
That red back would nearly be a deal breaker for me. I do hope that it's not in red, or that it is interchangeable, or something.
Great to see some confirmation. I'm ready, and have been waiting for this for a long time now. We will probably hear more about it next week at MWC if I had to guess.
Lightened pic to see buttons. looks capacative and the trackpad looks very flush and small. me likey so far. I don't care about the back as we should be able to replace it.
Would like the soft-touch coating though.

Haha I know seriously, you guys are complaining about the red back? After waiting so long for a phone like this to come to VZW, the back your deal breaker? Put a cover on it. I think the N1 looks so out of date compared to this.
speaking of, MOTOROLA just aired their commercial during the superbowl of a hottie in a bubble bath taking a picture of her self with the devour with motionblur. No carrier connected to the commercial.
lol Don't worry about it man. Whenever I buy something that I'm going to be using for a while, I tend to make sure that I like the way it looks. I don't want to pull out my phone with a red back while everyone else has their standard blackberries out. Glad I could explain.
Also, it'll be nice to actually go to the store and test this thing out.

What is the area to the left of the HTC. Looks like a circle(camera?). Also, can see it in post 12. Look at the 2nd pic here the area circled from that post.

That's the automatic light sense. Sorry bud, not quite a camera.
does no one realize that MOST BACK PLATES COME OFF
take the damn thing off, paint it black and have a nice day
whining over a damn backplate, and also it looks quite BROWN not RED
I agree with everything you said completely, except that you think the back looks brown. I've heard a few other people say this, but it looks RED to me. I mean, fire engine red. It could be people's monitors or video cards or it could be that different people have different perceptions of color. Cause, that thing is nothing but red red red to me.
I have a worry about screen size. Look at the camera. Is it me or does it seem too big compared to the rest of the phone? Maybe I just can't find a N1 pic with good enough perspective but the camera on the incredible seems to take up more real estate and the pupil on the incredible seems bigger.
Its not so much what its going to limit. More how big is the phone if the camera looks that large on the back. The N1 is 3.7 in right? Yet the camera looks smaller on the N1 then the Incredible which might mean a smaller then 3.7 screen.

Camera lens/image sensor is bigger on the Incredible... Pupil on the camera looks bigger... Notice the dual LED flashes. If this thing has two flashes, compared to just one on the Nexus One, and the sensor looks bigger and the pupil on the optics for the camera look bigger. Well...that only leads me to one conclusion: 720p HD video. Think about it. Bigger back for a big battery, big image sensor. We know that the guys who got to hold the phone in that back room and who compared it to the Behold II, thought it was the same size screen, 3.7. So...if we can agree that the screen is 3.7" or AT LEAST 3.5" (which honestly is barely even noticeably smaller when comparing), which I'm sure we can, then why would the image sensor and the optics be bigger and why would their be two flashes? Because this camera is a better camera, and because it takes HD video. That's my guess.
Edit: Also, think about it. The Increcible is even further down the road in evolution than the Nexus One. The Incredible has an optical track pad, while the Nexus has the old traditional track ball. Right there is a perfect example. So, it would make sense that the Incredible will have newer technology in the camera department as well. This is my current thought on this. I'm not saying that the Nexus is old or that it's a bad phone, I'm just saying that there HAS to be some big differences in the Nexus and the Incredible in order for the Incredible to even remotely live up to it's name. If it was less of a phone or equal to the Nexus One, then calling it the HTC Incredible would be a joke and everyone would be laughing at them. "What's so 'incredible' about this phone? It's not even as advanced as the Nexus One." See what I mean?

I thought that I was the only one to remember that. Except for the name I think "our UK spy" was spot on about a few things.
On another thread there is a mention about the radiation level of this and the N1. Very interesting.

Exactly! The phone of all phones is FINALLY on the horizon and you Sallies bitch about the color of the BACK?? Really?!? Can't be seen amongst your buddies having a phone with a red back? Wow.... peer pressure still affects you guys that much??? Dayummm.....
