I also told it tell me in the notification bar when things were syncing. I've found that for some reason, the program seems to keep the push notification working, I haven't had problems since using it. It will sometimes detect a gmail sync issue, but then it seems to force the program to try again a couple of moments later and it usually works. Give it a try, you might be surprised.
cheers for that -- will give it a go!

Any joy with Synkr? I tried it out and it didn't help. It's still the same issue as before. Gmail gets my email happily for a few days, then one morning I'll wake up with no notifications. Go into the Gmail app, manually refresh, and there it is.

I go to the Market and uninstall the Gmail updates, reinstall them, re-sync, and all works well for a couple of days, then the same thing happens again.

It's not a deal breaker (people have way worse issues with their phones I'm sure), just an annoyance and I wish I knew a solution. It's only happened since I got the 4.08.605.2 update (which, admittedly, got rid of the far more irritating low space issue!).

Add me to the list of users with the Gmail push problem. Does anybody know of any solution?

It took a bit of work to even get the 4.08.605.2 update, but now I wish I could get rid of it because I'd much rather have the low space issue than this one.

Edit: My phone also stopped vibrating when I receive an e-mail. I tried uninstalling the Gmail app and reinstalling it; that just removed the updates to the app and didn't fix anything. God, I hope someone can fix this...

I am having an issue where when I reply to a text message, it changes the recipient right when I press "send". This didn't happen before I upgraded to the latest Gingerbread upgrade. Anybody else having this problem?

GB is working fine for me. Texting, gmail push, etc. All fine. I did use an app cache cleaner right before the upgrade (as suggested here) that was several months back.

Google just pushed a new update for Gmail. Not much seems to have changed (for Gingerbread users at least), but perhaps this will fix the issue?
