I am right there with ya... I actually even went and got the Rezound for a few days and took it back. Not because it was a bad phone, just because $299 and a new 2 year contract for what? It has to do something for me that my Inc will not to justify the cost and contract. All these new phones are bigger and faster processor, but I don't care for the size and I don't find myself waiting on my Inc. I will have this phone till it dies. Then I will most likely buy another one...
Yep. Friends still look over my shoulder and comment, and just last week the IT guy at work said that my Inc seems faster and smoother than his SGSII. He was not pleased. I can certainly keep tinkering until my contract runs out in July, and probably until I have to jump the Verizon ship to keep unlimited data.
But for now, I'm still a happy man.
Mine is still running great as well. Running MIUI flawlessly. Alas, the Galaxy Nexus has indeed caught my eye, and come the end of January I will be making the move.
Still using my Dinc and will do so for the forseeable future. Just not impressed with any of the new phones because of their size. If\When my Dinc does die, I will probably get a Dinc2 (if they are still available) since it's about the closest in size to the Dinc out of all of the available phones Verizon currently has.
Device(s): Droid Razr, BN Nook Color (running CM 7). Formerly Droid Incredible I and Samsung Behold II (POS).

The Rezound isn't that much bigger. Only slightly wider (0.06 inches), and a quarter of an inch taller then the Incredible 2 ( which is again a little wider and taller than the Incredible 1).
Right there w/ you Sharon. Since gingerbread, my incredible works faster than it did before, web pages load much much quicker, battery life is only slightly better, maybe 15-20%, still it's enough that I can tell it's better so I'm happy. I also have unlimited, verizon cust for long long time.
I have the original incredible w/ the amoled screen and it's so crisp and clear it still takes my breath away at times, especially when watching video, colors are great. I had someone ask me how I like my iphone, I laughed and said it's not an iphone, I guess the size of the screen being so close.
I really don't want a screen larger than 4", for me there really is no need for a larger size (I'm in the minority here but I also believe alot of people also like the smaller size). So when the iphone 5 is released in Aug I will get that (blogs are saying it will be 4" in size, thinner and possible LTE, the incredible was my first smartphone and it has been a great one.

I flashed the living daylights out of my Incredible and until a few weeks ago, it was still crankin it out. Still would be had I not retired it for a Nexus. Great phone, probably overall the best I've had through the years. I'm keeping it around just in case and I'll probably pull it out once in awhile, charge up the battery and give it a run just cuz.
I retired my Dinc the release day of the Rezound. I love my new phone but it has two years to prove it's as good as my Dinc. I made the move mostly because my poor power button was worn out. That and I wanted to make the change while big RED was honoring grandfathered unlimited data plans. My luck, they would change their minds the day before I upgraded and I'd be stuck with a 2gig plan or worse.
Size of phone is a matter of taste. I had no desire for a larger phone but I admit to liking the Rezound's size. It's not nearly as huge as I thought it was going to be.
It feels good in the hand just like my loved Dinc. I would recommend the phone to those that are considering an upgrade but only time will tell if it's as reliable as the Incredible over the long haul.

I disagree with this, but that is just my personal opinion. I went and got the rezound and used it for a few days. I returned it due to the size. It all depends on how you hold your phone. For me when I hold the rezound I cannot get my thumb up to the upper left corner without repositioning the phone in my hand. I am 5’ 11” and do not have small hands. When it was in my pocket, it was very much more noticeable then the Inc in my pocket. I agree with ya in the fact that measurement wise it doesn’t measure all that much bigger, but it depends on how you use it and what is comfortable to keep in your pocket. I see some people use their phone by holding it in one hand and hen pecking the screen with the other hand. I don’t, I hold it in my right hand and operate it with my thumb. The size makes a difference.

I do not believe we have to worry about the grandfathered unlimited data plan being taken away from us. I am an old Alltel customer and have had my Alltel Voice plan for 13 years or more. Verizon does not make me change this. I don't see them taking away the unlimited data plan just like they have not taken away my Alltel Voice plan.

I suspect you are likely right. I"m just the non trusting sort. Their 4 for the price of 2 that they have right now will cover most people's use anyway and at a decent price. I am glad I have the unlimited

My Inc is still going strong. The SD Card takes a moment or two to re-engage after the Gingerbread release, and that's also true when I come out of playing Tiny Tower or Pocket Frogs (both Mobage, so I blame that on it). Otherwise, it's a champ!
Not rooted, just recently installed GoLauncher to customize my interface, been playing with Widgetlocker for weeks now. It's pretty, and I'm happy.
My contract is officially up in late April, so I'll have seen phones out for a little bit and heard early word on them. Maybe I'll cruise into a Verizon store and see what's available and if I fall in love with something, but I agree with thicket & Molbasser's statement: something's really going to have to WOW me to throw my Inc under the bus, and I don't want a phablet in my pocket. I like the Inc's size, and I have small hands (yes, I'm female, and I have a really fine/delicate bone structure so I'm told).
Not since I pre-ordered and received my Incredible has any new Android phone really caught my attention. The XDA community support has been great, and I rooted my phone as soon as the folks over at UnRevoked made it easy. It was my first personal Android phone (or smartphone period), coming from an old Motorola V750 that served me well for years.
I had been a [corporate] Blackeberry user for years, and it blew my mind what was capable with Android, having never experienced daily use of an alternative smartphone platform. I've become a huge Android fan since then and my days would be far less productive without it. I recently even gave back my Blackberry since I had stopped using it entirely after getting my Inc connected to corporate email. Of course work agreed to pay for my personal cell plan, otherwise I may have continued to carry two phones.
I was this close to trading in on a Galaxy Nexus, but I agree with a lot of you; the Nexus is too big. I like being able to drive my phone with one hand/thumb. Honestly, I could easily do with a 4" screen and no larger. More pixel density? Yes, please. But once I can't reach the whole screen with one hand, it ceases to be a phone, in my opinion. I still make a lot of phone calls, and texting is a large part of my communication. The thing I use it for the least is video, so I don't really care to have a screen nearing 5" so somebody in the airport next to me can watch a movie too.
Besides, I may not have to wait all that much longer to run ICS on my Incredible if rumors over at Cyanogen are true.
The wife and I both still have our DInc and love them. Since the upgrade to Gingerbread 2.3.x the battery life has been great. We get about 2 days on battery unless we use bluetooth in the cars radios, then we get a day which is fine with us.
They both run super fast still on the Verizon Unlimited Data plan. We both use about 4 gb of data each month with music, downloads, videos, and so on. The only downside is no front camera for skype but since my tablet has the camera i am good for now. I am waiting for verizon to come out with a newer HTC phone other than the thunderbolt. I know the Rezound seems to be a decent phone but i can hold out for something different. I love the HTC android phones over any other one.

I've had mine since release day and has been the longest I have owned any phone, and I've had cell phones since they were available. I've had to ensure less than stellar call quality but its been OK
While it's still working, the power button is sinking and, probably more importantly, can't get GB installed. I factory reset it a few weeks ago and still no go, so something's not right.
Probably off to get the iphone very soon, but with mixed feelings. As others have said, none of the other Android phones excite me and it seems like the trend is bigger and bigger. At least the iphone is a manageable size and a stable platform, superior call quality and easy OS updates when issued. I will miss the customization ability.
My incredible is just that. Incredible. Runs wonderfully. Only issue is I can never get it to update to gingerbread when it says I have an update. Just counts down and then does nothing at 0.

If your phone is NOT rooted, I wouldn't know why they couldn't do something for you. Get it to upgrade, replace it..etc.. It is "their" update they are tryinng to push to your phone.

My Incredible is still hanging in there. Running better than ever. I'm still running the official Gingerbread from Verizon, without the update patch, but I am rooted. I got rid of all the bloat junk and started using ADW Ex and WidgetLocker. Making all those changes made it feel like a new phone. It feels snappier and is actually a lot more stable.
My contract is up in July and I think my Inc is going to go into semi-retirement, I guess you could say. I am going to fully retire my iPod and re-purpose my Incredible to fill that void. At the moment I am thinking of running CM9 and just using my phone for games, music, stuff like that. As for what will replace my Inc, i have no idea. At the moment its probably a tie between the GNex and the Droid 4 (that keyboard is darn tempting). But I still have 6 months so who knows what will change.

While I did upgrade to the Galaxy Nexus, I can't seem to let go of my Inc. It is still at home, on the charger. I just loved it so much. I still have my non main email going to it, connected via WiFi. LOL I'm weird.
The Inc is a GREAT phone.

I haven't had my Inc long (roughly 6 months) but I plan to have it til it dies, or something jus completely amazes me. The RAZR is very appealing with the way it looks, but I think I'll pass. I can switch ROMs every so often to keep things fresh. But I do hope HTC comes out with something just as sleek.
I've been very happy with the Incredible. The only problem that I ever had with it was the memory issue but after I rooted it I have not had that problem.

search for 4.08.605.2 in google and there should be a link to a VZW forum that tells you how to clear the cache partition. i did that on my wife's INC and it fixed that problem.
I still have my INC. love it. its the perfect size. however the razr maxx has caught my eye. now that its a little bit thicker, it might be what i'm looking for. the regular razr was awkward to hold due to its thin-ness, so the bigger battery might solve that.
otherwise, there isn't anything from vzw that is of interest.
Mine works great except for the low space notification. A front camera would be nice but I haven't seen a new phone that gives me that many more capabilities. I will hang on to my Incredible until the next big jump in technology occurs. Maybe I'll buy a quadcore in a few months.

What are you doing with your phone that quad core would actually benefit?
Almost no mobile apps are that processor intensive, and even the ones that are usually bottleneck on network resources or Graphics hardware anyways.
Basically any improvement in hardware capabilities is being lost by crapily written, inefficient software. I think it's pretty telling that the actual use experience between our phones and the current generation really isn't that different. I was looking at phones at Verizon yesterday, and honestly there was more lag on them then my Incredible. I'm sure that will be improved significantly once you get rid of some of the junk, but it's still incredibly annoying.
I'm still sticking with my Inc. I pre-ordered it and waited an absurd amount of time for it due to the AMOLED shortage in 2010. Ended up with an AMOLED version, rooted it and I've ran lots of ROMs over the almost 2 years.
After settling on CM7 as my daily ROM, I can say that I'm sticking with this phone until it dies. It does everything I want, I'm grandfathered into Verizon's unlimited data, and I personally hate the new trend of 4+" screens. They all just look so massive to me. I love the Inc's iPhone-like size and everything just works for me. Battery life has been great since I've been flashing ROMs/kernels.

You need to do a factory reset for the update to install correctly.
Backup all your data first, because you will need to reinstall all your apps afterwards. It was worth it to me because I didn't reinstall a whole bunch of apps I never used.
My Incredible has been, well, Incredible. No issues whatsoever. Great size, updates are current, NOT rooted at all, and I've been very happy with it. My contract is up in a few months but not sure if the original Dinc will be getting Ice Cream Sandwich??? Otherwise, I'm not really looking around at other phones, but am curious about upgrading. I'm just in no rush...
I think that hand full of us that still have our Inc do not visit the forums all to often anymore. I check here and XDA every once and a while now and it seems like most of the Inc Forums have died off. Everybody else must of moved on, but now there isn't these fun forums to read on the device I still own... :-( O-well....
