Had a update waiting for me when I got up this morning. Anyone else? Unfortunately I couldn't install it because I didn't have enough room. Best phone ever but I can't wait for my S3 to get here. Just wanted to know if anyone else received this.

My husband updated his last night, and says that nothing looks different. His is still running 2.3.4
While rebooting after the install process, it took probably 15 minutes, so be aware of that and don't jump the gun while it is loading or you may brick your phone. Just let it load in it's own sweet time to avoid any problems.

I assume if I update to .15 I will lose root?? Has anyone posted a rooted stock version of this update yet? I can't find anything on here or xda... (or I'm just blind)
I got the same message and the install failed due to "insufficient disk space". I have 6GB left so that clearly isn't the problem. A co-worker was never able to install 2.3.4 for the same reason.
Fortunately I have a Galaxy S 3 on order as my poor Inc as a ton of problems beyond this one.
Not sure what's happened to mine, but it didn't like the update. After updating it said successful then it hung on the reboot and required me to pull the battery. After that reboot I got an error stating UUID's are inconsistent and it needed to wipe my data partition. I proceeded. My contacts and installed applications were gone. I did a google sync to get most of my contacts back, reloaded a few applications and thought all was good.
When I try to open the Internet it crashes with a force close. This has occured all week since the update. This morning I pulled the battery again for a hard reset. Powered it up and got the UUID inconsistent error.
I went by the Verizon store. The rep said this was the ICE update and it's crashed random phones due to incompatibility. Said I could have them do a hard wipe and reload of my OS but eventually the update will be forced and it will wipe me out again. He said my only option was a new phone?!???? Is this true?
At this point my phone is working with the update EXCEPT internet which crashes with a Force Close error.
I called VW tech support and they confirmed there were other reports of this crash with my symptoms and there is no fix right now.

I got the notification, did the update a couple of days ago.
Since then my phone has been randomly resetting/rebooting, usually in the wee hours of the morning. It started again last night while I was trying to go to sleep - from the other room I hear a loud "DROID!". When I tried to unlock the phone (swipe down) it reset/rebooted again. I did that twice before it finally came all the way up, at which point I powered it off so I could get to sleep.
I'm not sure what I can do at this point. Is there any way to back the update out? Or will I have to root the phone and install cyanogenmod in order to get a stable phone again?
Mine hung on reboot after update had to pull battery.
Then all seemed fine,... wrong again.
The phone held a charge for days before this, if unused, but always on.
Now after the update I get about 10 hours of battery life if unused but left on.
Thank you, mr. helper, for the update.

What you are expierencing is normal with the most recent software. After the most recent update the Droid Incredible will also receive an additional Memory Optimization component to the MR5 update that will begin between 2am-5am (your local time). You must let this additional update complete or it will continue to happen each late night/early morning until it completes. I recommend putting your phone on charge and silent mode so that it doesnt wake you up because it will reboot serveral times.

actually it is. the way the memory is divided is all effed up. not enough was allocated to the applications.
I have an email in to HTC as both my local store and verizon online said it was an HTC push. At this point, my phone will randomly reboot, random apps continue to fail, and my internet won't function. Verizon has no answer but to buy a new phone. They said that a complete wipe and reload of the OS will only temporarily fix things (maybe, they said).
I find this interesting that this happens to me the week of Verizons new everything shared plan offering. Its probably a conspiracy to get me off of my unlimited data plan since that is what is mainly wiped out on my phone now.
From what I read, the update adds nothing of importance to me and is also risky to install. How do I get rid of the annoying update notification; it keeps coming back when I click "later"? Thanks.
This is beginning to sound like Verizon pushed this update just to ruin our phones. What easier way to get us to move to a new phone or better yet to the new data plan.
Sorry but my phone will stay full of space and I will continue to ignore this update prompt.
I just spoke to HTC tech support. They claim that the updates (actually there's more than one) will help or eliminate the "low memory issue." If that's true it's a gamechanger for me. I'm still going to wait a while, and of course do a thorough backup before installing. The tech also said there's not way to remove the update notification without root.
Got the update, installed it figuring I will be upgrading phones sooner rather than later. I decided to come on here while it installs to see what this updates all about, and got a bit freaked out after reading the negative reactions. I looked down at my phone (rooted), and it said installation aborted. Whew. I guess I'll pass on this one.

I installed the update this morning. Took a VERY long time after the phone rebooted to get passed the Droid eye bootup screen. I almost thought I was going to have to pull the battery. However all worked well and it installed.
The good news is that I was having problems with HTC shutting down when I was in the internet browser or playing a game. With this new update, HTC did not shut down and thus I did not have to wait on any annoying bootup.
Of course I will find out tonight about 2am if I also have to endure the continuous reboots.
I hope there is a way to stop the update requests as my wifes phone has yet to be updated. My local store stated it will eventually become a forced install and you can only delay it for a short time?? Not sure, but who knows
I'm willing to install the update if it means stopping those nag screens! Man, the whole day has been annoying. I'm not having any problems with anything, so if anyone has a way to end these nags, let us know!
Getting the update now. If it hoses the phone I guess I'll just use it as a excuse to leave Verizon. The new plans suck big time for the individual with just one devise.

You got that right skipdawg.

Same for me. NES! And then after cleaning up a bit, I go back to About Phone -> Software Update it says everything is up to date.
That's what happened to me when I couldn't take seeing that popup constantly. At least I won't have to deal with that nag screen anymore until it gets pushed to me again.
This looks like a design flaw with the phone that can never be fixed. They left some of the partitions too small.
The only successful fix I've heard of requires rooting. Once that is done there is a fix that increases the Application data storage size from 150mb to 750mb. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post direct links, so do a google search for:
[HOW TO] Fix the "Low on space" problem (in plain English)
It must depend on what all you have installed. I don't do games or music off mine. Plenty of space and all. So as long as it holds out I guess I'm staying with it. Not to impressed with the plans on other carriers either.
Still no issues after the update here. I pre-ordered one week prior and got this baby day one so likely from the first batch I would guess.
the nag screen seems to lessen after the first day - I haven't actually seen it at all today and only once yesterday when I went to look to see if somehow I accidentally updated it (because I hadn't seen the nag screen then either)
HTC tech supported left me email with instructions to save off pictures and contacts and then do an OS wipe/reload. And said if it wasn't fixed (or temporarily fixed they said) then either I'd have to send it in to HTC for repair, or Verizon would have to replace my phone. Verizon will replace it, with a purchase. I can't send my phone in for repair as it's a business phone lol. At this point, they've found a way to sabatoge my unlimited data plan as that's the only thing destroyed right now.

More likely than not, YOU could fix it with help on these forums you are using. Have you ever reset the phone? Have you accessed your files through a computer? Could you move all your personal, don't want to lose stuff to your memory card? If you can do these things you can fix it yourself.

fine. I quit whining long enough to back it all up and reload the OS. Internet is working again. Verizon said it could be temporary as the install will eventually come back and force itself on. I don't know a thing about the rooting and being able to deny the update for good.
