As far as I know all phone gps are basically the same.
I have never heard any different.

I can tell you I have had more trouble with evo3ds gps then any other htc device.

It may not be limited to Sprint for long. Check this out:

Me too - turns out under test at Sprint, they declared it defective and replaced it.

hello,

Answers:

1. The Sprint HTC EVO 3D will work on CDMA carriers only.
2. The Sprint HTC EVO 3D does not use SIM cards
3. You can purchase the phone without a contract (maybe best buy and/or amazon?) and the cost sans contract would probably be $600.00 US.

as noted, the EVO 3D is exclusive to sprint in the US and as such does not have a SIM slot.

sprint has just released the motorola photon, which is a world phone and has a sim slot. it is an android handset.

the UK version of the evo may have a sim slot.. i am not certain on that.

no the handset will be the same cost in the store. these phones are usually very expensive. this is why carriers allow contracts. the carrier will eat some cost of the phone in order to get a new customer for 2 years. thats your incentive for joining a carrier... if you want to purchase a handset not locked to any carrier, you will pay the premium to be "the boss" of you and choose which carrier you want. without being under a contract, carriers wont bend over backwards to have you as a customer.

perhaps you can find some used on fleabay or craigslist.

The CDMA version is available in the US, the GSM version is available in Canada and as I understand, some parts of Europe.

Vodaphone stepped back from offering it due to some delays in getting the GSM ready (or reports similar to that effect) but will hopefully change that.
