[Resolved: Needed HTC Sync Drivers) Can't Connect to Windows 7 via USB?
I just upgraded from an Evo 4G to the newer Evo 3D. When I plugged my old Evo 4G into my Windows PC via USB, a dialog came up on my phone, I could choose "act as disk drive", and then I could copy files to and from.
Now, when I plug in my Evo 3D to the same Windows PC, the charge light goes on, but I don't get the popup, I can't choose act as disk drive, and I can't see the phone from my PC. On the phone, under settings -> "Connect to PC", default connection type is "disk drive" and "ask me" is checked. These settings don't seem to be working.
I tried restarting both PC and phone... I don't know why this isn't working.
Otherwise, the phone is working perfectly and so is my PC and other USB devices.
Please forgive me if this sounds obvious, but have you installed the EVO 3D drivers? My pc didn't recognize mine until I did that. I installed HTC Sync to get the drivers, then uninstalled Sync because I don't use it and it also interferes when rooting. Doing that will still leave the drivers though.

Just to jump off what Carrie was suggesting. If anyone needs HTC Sync, the newest version/most compatible version is now listed under the downloads of HTC's Support page for the Evo 3D. (it didn't used to be listed under Evo 3D so an older version was referenced on these forums - HTC must have updated the downloads page recently or I am just out of touch)
I had installed HTC Sync for my EVO 4G - but uninstalled it later. After I moved to the EVO 3D, I never installed the HTC Sync, but it was/is able to connect to my PC just fine (disk drive) - Win 7 Ultimate - 64 bit

i would try installing drivers again, i know that sometimes it takes a while for my sdcard to show up, that is until i got my nice shiny new class 10 card

Yes! That was it! Thanks!
Every other phone I've ever had, including my old Evo 4G, never needed me to install drivers. For basic disk access, it was pure plug & play.
I actually checked the HTC website and looked for drivers, but I only saw the HTC Sync app. The description for HTC Sync said it was for Outlook integration which I don't want. I never would have guessed that the drivers were hidden in that application.
Anyway, it's working perfectly now. Thanks!
