and there was me thinking waiting for the rumoured july 11th release was too long of a delay *sigh* it's been an incredibly long wait. now i have to wait until it comes down from the princely sum of 500, which works out at $824, surely no phone, even the evo 3d is worth that

Wow, that much??? If I had to pay that price I would still have an old flip phone. Are the prices that much more than the US on all mobile phones? Are you guys able to get the phone for a lesser amount with a carrier contract? Please forgive me, I don't know how it works across the big water

yeah the prices are usually much more than the US on everything not just mobile phones! in a lot of instances, if something is priced $200 in the US a lot of companies like to charge 200 for the product in the uk, even though 200 pounds converts to $330! (sorry for the mini rant!)

but yeah usually you'd be able to pay less for the phone on a contract with a carrier- but the unusual situation with the evo 3d is that there is no carrier network tied to it, and no word on when a network will actually offer the phone! only the standalone handset is available at the moment (bad news for someone like me who's been eagerly awaiting the evo 3d since may!)

the vodafone network were due to be the first ones to release the phone, but they dropped the evo 3d due to delays from htc.

Thank you for your reply I remember reading that Vodafone dropped it. That's too bad because it means most people won't be able to afford it. It is also ridiculous that things are so much more expensive in general. I guess at this point it is unlikely that another carrier won't take it

you're welcome it just seems like a missed opportunity by HTC to not have released this earlier, as i'm sure this handset would have been really popular. and i agree that it is a shame that the majority of people aren't going to be able to get this great phone, at least not for a while
