Can someone tell me how update the market without using the released apk? I remember being able to force update the market on my Hero. I want to try deleting the market to force the update using the app manager but I don't want to mess anything up. Plus I don't know if that will work on the 3D.
I believe the Market will update on its own. I know the last time it was updated it did. So if you don't want to use the released apk then you will have to wait I believe. I'm in no hurry for the updated version. I tried it and don't really like it.

I've been using it for a while now, so I'm not sure if you could do this in the earlier version or not...But, one thing that annoys me is not being able to rate an app that you have payed for unless it is installed.

It is definitely rolling out right now. My old Sprint HTC Hero running CyanogenMod 7.1 got it already even though I did not install the updated Android Market .apk file. I sort of chuckled at the fact that my old handset got it before my shiny new Sprint HTC EVO 3D. Oh well.
A friend of mine with a Verizon Samsung Fascinate that is running Android 2.2 got it yesterday evening. I am sure you will see it soon.
Somebody told me if you Clear the Market Cache and Force Close that it would update itself. I tried this and mine did not update. Not sure if anyone else wants to try this... Looking forward to getting the new market myself! =)

I did this but nothing happened. What is the latest version of Market? Mine is 2.3.4

Alright, so the new Android Market was announced by Google earlier today featuring an all new UI, widget, integration with Google Videos and multiple Gmail accounts. A few hours later, we actually got our hands on the new Market v3.0.26 (signed by Google) and I quickly uploaded it for everyone to enjoy and test out for yourselves.
Given the sketchiness of downloading apps anywhere but from the Android Market, a few of you were (understandably so) apprehensive about trying out the new Market and installing in your phone. Even more of you didn’t even have a phone equipped with Android 2.2 or higher (one of Google’s prerequisites for the app).
So, it’s for you guys that I’ve gone ahead and shot a quick (read: rough) video showing off the new Market and its Google Video rental service, simply to give you guys a better idea of what to expect in the coming weeks.
Oh- and if you change your mind about downloading the new Market, well — DownloadHere is still waiting for you. You can always go back to the old Market following this simple steps:
Go into your phone’s Settings
Select "Manage Applications"
Select the "All" tab at the top
Scroll down to Market app and select it
Select "Uninstall Updates"
Now have your old Market back!

LOL, ok. The easiest thing for you to do is use your phone to download the file thats linked a few posts up. Once downloaded just click on it and you will see the option to install it.

just one other thing - after downloading it, go to you settings, application and check "unknown sources". Then, click on the downloaded apk (assuming you have downloaded it to your phone or the microSD on your phone) and you will see the option to install it.

Anyone have the problem where you can't update apps? For me when it gives the notification there's an update available i can only open it or uninstall it.

This helps if there is an update available, but if the update hasent been pushed to your phone yet then theres nothing for it to update.
The new market is a significant upgrade to the previous one. The layout is infinitely better, it sorts between the categories, top paid, and top free in a more useful and organized manner, and the app preview layout is so much easier on the eyes--with the sample pictures, to reviews, to having the video preview (if available) right there under the screen previews.
The old market looks, operates, and feels like something from 5 years ago.

I'm really surprised we don't have it yet. Haven't used it, but my first reaction to seeing screenshots is that I'm not a fan, so I'll just "wait" patiently until it's pushed to me. I have absolutely zero problem with the old market, and hey, maybe the new one is better, but I don't know what I'm missing, and won't until I'm forced to.

Me too. That'd be great if the functionality was improved, but the style looks bad to me. Here is to me praying I NEVER get this update.

Just downloaded this to my EVO 3D and have to agree with you.
I've searched and haven't really found anything on the topic, but does anyone with an EVO3D have the new android market? I know several people on other carriers besides Sprint and with different phones who got the new market awhile back, and I have seen videos showing EVO3D's with the new market. Is the only way to update to install the file yourself?

Well, I finally gave up and downloaded it from the link here.
I think that Sprint/HTC should be embarrassed that we have to search out these updates on our own, long after most other phones have received them. Thank goodness that we are innovative androidians or we'd be screwed.
I'm trying to hold out, but it's been so long since it went live. Even my friends Fascinate has the new market. This is making me think twice about the supposed "quick" updates from HTC. This is my first Android experience so, maybe I'm missing something.

I was under the impression that this update comes from Google and not our Carrier? I could be wrong.
I don't think they should be embarrassed, the new market IMO is ugly. I'm extremely happy that they haven't pushed this to everyone.

You may be right about it being Google who should be embarrassed.
Whether you think the new market is ugly or not, it is far superior to the old market in organization, and opportunities that the old market did not possess.
I feel that the option to update our market should have been made available to us by now.

I use the browser based market so functionality in the actual application means little to me.
Today I went and got my wife her 3d and i wanted to down load something from xda on her phone. From experience I knew I had to have astro file manager to open it. So I go into astro and open the down load filed and in there I see a file for the market in there. I opened it and low and behold it was the new market. Tried it on my 3d and it was there too. Something people might want to look into. Not sure if it was a fluke or what but thought I would share.

I just downloaded it. It seems better organized and operates smoother. Those annoying apps at the top that are a pain in the butt to slide are gone, which is awesome. I can see new apps and not have to fight with my screen to get through them

I went ahead and downloaded and I like it. I would be a little more annoyed had this been a more important update. Lol, usually I go to the Market knowing what I want because I read about it here.

Great enjoy, hope it is better then the older version, lol from what I have read it is, so we will see, it also has a few more options, which is nice that you can turn the auto update off now.

Sprint continues their EVO line of Android Phones with what is certainly a first for them - a 3D phone. The HTC EVO 3D boasts 3D technology on a beautiful 4.3-inch screen and get this: you don't even need glasses to enjoy the 3D experience!
