It's 1440X1280. I had to re-create a lot of my EVO wallpapers to fit properly on the MoPho, so I guess I'll have to start re-creating them again to work with LTEvo or the MoPhoQ.
1440 x 1280 must be because of the re-dux of the scrolling wallpaper that shifts left or right when you scroll through your homescreens?
Where's Freeza?
My finger is itching to use the thanks button on another one of his amazing wallpaper dumps. I'm almost counting on it - unless he is too busy developing.
The wallpapers offered on this link you gave are very similar and would make good additions to Freeza's collection (some are duplicated I just know it).
I'm getting kind of excited to see/get El tevo......but I really like the display of my MoPho. I work outside and the screen is really good for looking at the screen in bright light. Does anyone know how the El tevo will compare?
On a side note....has anyone here ever used the Best Buy "buy back" program before? They told me on Sunday, when i was there, that they will give me $280.00 for my MoPho. So when I buy the El tevo, I will get the difference back in Best Buy gift cards.

I'm not sure if the screens are identical, but if you crank the brightness on the One X to about 75%, the screen is pretty visible when outside.

Best Buy "buy back" program actually has to be purchased when first buying your phone/device. I purchased it for my Photon and my Flyer. Thing is, I may end up keeping my Photon, just to use for international calls and be a dedicated music player in the car. But if the MoPhoQ (upcoming replacement for the MoPho) ends up being that much better AND is an international phone, just like the current MoPho, I may just take advantage of the "buy back" program that I purchased.
S4GRU got some updates about Sprints LTE towers. I guess some are already good to go, but Sprint has them in a "Reserve" status. People living in the first phase area of Sprints Now Vision are some lucky folks. Can't wait to read about there speedtest results. It's a good read with some info.

Well I got a chance to stop by and check out the One X earlier today, and my first impressions are that the screen is beautiful, and that's an understatement. All the hype about the One X's screen is well deserved, as it is the best screen that I have ever seen on a mobile device. As for other notes, the camera UI is pretty nice(Although I would prefer a switch camera button on screen. Why the heck does HTC have to remove features?). It's extremely light and thin, which would could definitely expect from the EVOLTE as it's only 4 grams heavier. Web browsing is really FUN, and everything was very fluent and FAST. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the device and the EVOLTE should only be that much sweeter.

One thing I've been looking out for, but haven't seen yet is whether HTC will be employing the same "optical lamination" process with their screens on the LTEvo as with the One X. It's something frequently cited in discussions of the One X in terms of getting the quality of the screen as high as they did.
...And having owned the Evo 4G and Evo 3D, I know one of the biggest problems of HTC's prior screen process: dust has made its way into the screen gaps of both devices.
I think it's a fair assumption that the LTEvo will have an optically laminated glass/display, but I don't know if it's a foregone conclusion. Has anyone else seen otherwise?

Quickness on light adjustment looks just "okay" to me.
Can anyone vouch for the credibility of that youtube user? He posts all these "hands on video tests," but provides no real evidence of owning the phones. I just want to be sure what I'm looking at is legitimate.

He/She did post 3 other sample videos from the EVO 4G LTE, but I don't know if they're "legit."

Brilliant! I hadn't heard about the optical lamination process for the One X screen, but I DID notice in a recent One X hands on video that the screen reflects and refracts light with a rainbowy glint to it (probably sun light or natural light). I thought it was extremely curious but didn't look into it. Now that you mention it, it seems almost obvious that it probably has something to do with the laminating process that makes the glass more "optical" and reflect differently? Hopefully connecting the dots is not an error on my part.
Haven't read it anywhere in regards to the Evo. I wonder if we can look at some of the Evo LTE first look hands on videos and see if there is a rainbowy reflection to the screen? (too bad most of them are indoors or in low light - also final production units could always be different than promo handsets...)
I hope this subtle feature is not left off the Evo 4G LTE.

I paid for the buy back program when i purchased my MoPho, so I'm good there.
Now that you mention it it seems obvious that it probably has something to do with the laminating process that makes the glass more "optical" and reflect differently.
From what I understand, historically for regular LCD displays, there has been some gap between the display itself and the glass. This is best illustrated by the dust migrating into the phone getting trapped between the display and the glass (the Evo 4G had it the worst, the Evo 3D was a bit better). Or also illustrated in this comparison between versions of the ASUS Transformer Prime or this site.
Apparently, on the HTC One X, they've removed the gap altogether and laminated the LCD display directly to the glass.
This improves viewing angles, brightness, increases outside visibility, and reduces glare -- byproducts of the internal reflections/refractions from the air gap. It also has the byproduct of making the image appear like it's right at the surface of the device, or in the words of one review, "the high definition pixel matrix seems to skim across the face of the phone."
Optical lamination of the display to the glass is supposedly featured on the iPhone 4 and is one of the reasons credited with why the display looks so darn good (pixel density notwithstanding).
There is no question that we want this on the HTC Evo 4G LTE!

On the GNex thread some folks are enjoying there toys. I put out a cry for help to see if some of them are accidentally getting any LTE luv. I am doubtful but would be cool if some how the GNexus guys did. S4GRU is rumored live towers in Waco, TX.
I seem to recall when HP starting branding with Beats Audio on their laptops, they claimed to be improving the actual audio hardware in the laptops -- outfitting the audio subsystem/pipeline with audiophile quality DACs, better quality OMAMPs, etc.
Having toyed with the freaks at Head-Fi (and I use that term lovingly), these components can play a huge part in sound -- and Apple (from what I remember so I could be wrong) has stuck to using well-regarded Wolfson DACs.
Does anyone know if the Beats Audio here in the LTE Evo and the HTC One series -- is it just a software/EQ thing, or is there actual hardware in the form of a better DAC and OPAMPS?
I don't know if I've seen any other teardown for an HTC Beats Audio branded mobile device. But I had forgotten that the ill-fated HP/Palm Touchpad was also Beats Audio branded. Apparently it was also rocking a quality Wolfson-Micro codec, resulting in one of Anandtech's "best sounding tablet thus far."
Though I'm skeptical, I'm still hoping this means that we'll get better than average audio hardware...
At its TouchPad announcement HP brought Jimmy Iovine on stage to talk about Beats Audio, obviously to promote its integration into the TouchPad. I will begin this section by saying that the TouchPad is definitely the best sounding tablet I've tested thus far. But how much of that is due to some magical Beats Audio hardware?
Tech Republic cracked open the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and found a Wolfson Micro WM8994 audio hub and codec. What about the HP TouchPad? A Wolfson Micro WM8958.
The only difference between the two parts is the WM8958 used in the TouchPad features a DSP used as a multiband compressor and dynamic range controller. The multiband compressor explains exactly what I hear with the TouchPad. On most tablets low frequencies are almost entirely lost, while the TouchPad sacrifices dynamic range in order to boost these low and/or mid spectrum frequencies. The result can be pleasant depending on the type of music you're listening to. In general I found the TouchPad's audio to be more filling than any competing tablet. While I'm not usually a fan of most aural or visual trickery, in this case I believe the multiband compression does a good job.
For one thing, the battery itself is concealed with some kind of metal foil heatsink or EM shield, so you're going to be constantly removing/re-applying it when swapping batteries.
Next, because it's a non-swappable battery, there aren't battery contacts, but instead there's a thin wire and small plug (that would be easy to damage and hard to plug/unplug).
Also, because the batteries are not able to be swapped, they are not going to be readily available to consumers.
Finally, indications point to the battery being a Li-Polymer battery (so it's a malleable polymer instead of Li-Ion metal encased cells -- the advantage here is the size and weight reduction over Li-Ion cells) and that combined with it's intended non-removable use case means: it likely doesn't have any protective structural integrity and wouldn't survive bouncing around in a bag or pocket, would be easy to damage, and if damaged could result in overheating, explosions, and harm.
In other words, just buy a portable charger and call it a day. Alternatively, maybe a manufacturer will make a case that includes a battery like the many they have for the iPhone4 (which then brings us back to the limited after-market eco system of a niche device like the LTEvo and why it's better if HTC maintained its limited product portfolio).

what is this new CPU... S4 Pro??? with a better upgraded GPU...
Yup. Basically, the S4 has a "massaged" Adreno GPU from the former dual-core Snapdragon (the S3, featured in the Evo 3D, HTC Sensation, etc.), as the S3 featured the Adreno 220, and the S4 has the 225 -- in other words, essentially the same generation GPU.
The Pro will feature a next-generation GPU, bumping up to the Adreno 3xx series, either 305 or 320; there should be vastly better graphics pushing. It's too bad we don't get to rock this.
Not sure I totally believe that Phandroid article - it's not supposed to be sampling until the second half of this year - production follows that, then Sony getting to use it follows that.
I'd be very surprised if we saw any Pro / Adreno 320 versions much before the end of the year in any phones.

I just called Sprint and they told me I can call back on May 17th and get my upgrade on the 18th which would be two weeks early. Apparently it is coming out May 18th from what I've heard and read on the internet. I hope so!

I got an early one before two but I am being given one final upgrade om June 1st to use by the end of the year. So if the phone does come out on May 19th it's just 2 weeks early. They used to always give me a 50-100 dollar credit too for resigning right before I was getting my phone but she said they don't do that anymore. But after reading S4GRU and Good & EVO I am don't know who's right and who's wrong so I guess will wait and see but I would like the May 18th date to be true. But June 6th is ok too I guess. As long as I get the phone.

Lol...me too. They've let me upgrade early many times. Only reason I'm not asking for early upgrade is to see the superphones in person first before deciding.

On a side note... I guess a way to put it into some perspective about how remarkable the screen tech. that HTC is using in the One X/EVOLTE is that I remember checking out the Rezound for it's 720p 4.3 inch display, which theoretically should be the best considering it has a ppi of 346. Honestly, I wasn't too impressed. It was a very nice display, but nothing quite popped out at me as spectacular. On the other hand, after visiting AT&T to look at the One X, I was impressed at first glance, and could instantly notice the increased amount of detail on the display. The clarity of the One X far surpasses that of the Rezound, which goes to show that ppi may play second fiddle to actually screen technology. NOW GO CHECK OUT A ONE X

All this talk about it and I have an AT&T store by me I'm gonna have to go in there and check out the One-X. I'm gonna call and see if they have one on display. I'm off all next week gonna stop in there one day.

And here is the best page I could find on Sprint.com regarding their updated online pre-orders/pre-sales. I'm thinking this is the "How Pre-Orders Work" page from the above link?
The chat representative I was in contact with said that in store pre-orders may not match the online process and will vary. Not sure what that plan will be, hopefully someone can weigh in with recent Sprint store pre-order info?
There are also other alternate pre-order options to consider as well, like Best Buy, RadioShack, and local retailers. It could just be me, but I feel kinda like the game has changed and less confident about how each place will handle things this time around.

Should have been a little more specific, sorry. Yeah, the pre-sale was online, I am not sure how they handled it in store. Come to think of it, the pre-sale may have been online only. Since the evolte is by far a bigger deal to sprint than the gnex I am sure sprint will have more options available to the customers.

I believe pre-sale terms will vary by reseller too, in the same way that for places like BestBuy and Radioshack, they will give you the upgrade rebate immediately rather then requiring a form and receipt to be mailed in.
Bestbuy has historically charged a $50 down payment in the form of a giftcard to lock in a preorder.

Did Sprint be rid of Mail In Rebates yet? This time last year they made a long term, however non-permanent move towards instant rebate only. I never heard if they made that permanent though or not.

Yeah I don't think they do the mail in rebates anymore, last year when I got the evo 3d no rebate was necessary also last week when I got the gnex there wasn't any rebates involved either. So I guess we can assume that the days of mailing in a rebate are done, at least I hope so.
