I need two things - my last annual upgrade honored and for them to take my $150 upgrade credit on May 7. I have to go check my upgrade status, honestly, I have been afraid to...

Anyway, I offered WifelyMon EL TEvo - after shaking her head, she told me to enjoy my new phone and to continue keeping my meat hooks off of her Shift.

I was wondering about this also. Will they allow us June people to pre-order in May.

Yes. They let anyone pre-order, regardless of their upgrade status or when they are eligible for discounts. They could probably care less as long as they make the sale. (though in most cases they may look up your info to inform you what you will likely have to pay so things don't get screwy for either party).

Upgrade status and discounts are determined and applied on the date of sale as opposed to the date of pre-order. Also, so no one else asks this, your next upgrade will be set from the date of final sale and not from the pre-order day - there are no shortcuts.

Pre-orders start on May 7. The phone will probably release in the first weeks of June I'd imagine, depending on their summer road map. They aren't going to leave the bulk of their sales out in the cold (Evo 4G upgrades), especially since their long term future may depend on our loyalty. Even if they decide to release it before June, Sprint can re-write the rules and extend grace to early adopter Evo 4G users that want to upgrade. So if you are set for June and the phone comes out at the end of May, they can decide to bend their own rules if they choose.

Sprint is usually decent about this stuff, and they treat customers pretty well, so no worries mate.

Add to what PyroSporker said, in addition to that you can upgrade now if you wanted to any phone. Sprint tactics are (which makes sense) they will allow to upgrade 3 months in advance prior to your contract expiring (keeping you from leaving) I.e. Sept 9th, you can start your from June 9th - Sept 9th! Iv'e been doing since 2004!

Ok! Do you feel it will come out the first Friday of this June!? I talk to a Sprint rep (take with a .5 grain of salt) and he said he something like the 22nd of June!? My experience with rep, they are clueless! A female rep told me I should work for Sprint, because I know more than them!

P.S....She made me feel good!

I just called Sprint and was asking about the Galaxy Nexus, he told me the evo lte is coming out before the Galaxy Nexus and will be released sometime in May. He was pretty confident about it being May, not June. I am guessing it will be released 2 weeks after pre order, so maybe the 21st or 22nd of May.

they sound confident because its their job to sound confident about whatever they tell you... they speak out there ass and have NO clue, they get their info from fan sites like this half the time so i highly doubt it'll come out that quick, especially before the nexus.

he probably knew the pre-order date was may 7th and was just going off that.

LOL...I'm pretty confident, those reps should be fired from Sprint!

http://shop.sprint.com/mysprint/shop/phone_details.jsp?ensembleId=SPHL700KIT&flow=AAL&i sDeeplinked=true&id16=%20nexus

hahahaha...They obviously weren't doing good research on their own products.

It'll likely be announced the day the 1st pre-orders can be made, which is May 7.

For the Evo 3D, BestBuy started taking "secret" preorders around May 3rd without a release date in sight.

Sprint started officially taking preorders late May, May 21st, and still with no release date announcement.

Finally, on June 6, 2011, Sprint officially announced that the HTC Evo 3D would be available on June 24, 2011.

The fact that we already know the preorder date at the announcement of the LTEvo is already different than last year. So in other words, it's hard to predict from prior launches

For me, the release date doesn't matter as much as the date that Sprint's LTE becomes available in Los Angeles. Until that date, the EVO 4G LTE might as well be the EVO 3G. Once Sprint DOES activate LTE in LA, though, it will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

pretty sure it'll still be damn fast without LTE, it still uses the S4 whether your connected to LTE or not so i really just don't see why it matters THAT much, you'll still have data through 3g and wifi

It matters because Sprint's 3G speeds are abysmal here. Until the Network Vision upgrades kick in, the 3G is practically useless to me. I spend 40+ hours a week at work without wifi and in fact use my phone for tethering, so a phone without some working 4G technology does me no good.

Believe me, I wish I could make do with Sprint's 3G in the meantime, because this phone is going to be killer and I want it ASAP.

June 10th. That seems to fit Sprint's criteria.

Oh, yeah. I can confirm that. The Venice/Westchester/Culver City area gets really choppy signal.

Strangely enough, you actually go to LAX and the 4G Wimax signal is the strongest I've experienced ever (away from a Sprint store)...LOL.

But, from what I understand, the LTE rollout should be a whole different experience and by the time they're done with Network Vision, Sprint should be better than it ever has been at "it's peak." Quite honestly, part of me is skeptical, but considering that Sprint has the strongest signal out of all the carriers in my neck of the woods (North of Sunset), I really don't plan on changing providers.

I would love to see Sprint bounce back and really kick some butt. And once they do, I'll gladly buy whatever superphone looks best (which will probably be the LTEvo).

Here is the problem... Their article originally said the Evo 4G LTE hadn't even passed the FCC yet! Which we know it already did. They also reported that the Sprint landing page/Pre-order place-holding page just went live last night (along with a bunch of other mis-lead media outlets). However that page/a placeholder page has been live since seconds after the phone's announcement...

The rumors are a flyin' and June 10th is just as much of a rumor as May 18 as far as I am concerned, even if they want to claim insider info and tout they were the first name a launch date and boldly state the phone is "still right on time". They have a pretty darn good site for LTE info and Network Vision rollouts, however this article just feels like they are trying to feather their own cap.

To add, they were wrong about their "exclusive" release date info on the Viper and Nexus as well. It may have been just a week off, but it was still off.

Anyone could have guessed April for the Nexus, when we heard about the contest I guessed April as the release date. Same with the Evo, it's usually June so it would be safe to assume it will still be in June as well, but that doesn't mean it will be.

Not too surprising given that training for the LTEvo has started, yes?

The new Google - won't always find relevant links even if they're recent.

I seem to recall that within the last week, there was a story out that gained little attention stating that some sort training - along with promo material introductions - were going out, yes.

Oh, that's most definitely awesome to see. The faster the superphones are out, the faster I can do a comparison, read reviews, and decide which one I'm choosing.

I'm not eligible until July, so if the mopho q and sgs 3 are out by then...perfect timing...lol.
