For those of you looking to buy the HTC Media Link HD, Amazon has one for $96. Use the following promotional code to save 30%: MOTHER30. Also, standard shipping is set at $9, but if you switch to expedited shipping, the price actually drops to $8.99!

I just ordered mine and my total price was $76.19. The delivery estimate is between the 15th and 18th...just in time!!!

Here's the link: Amazon.com: HTC 99H1089400 Media Link HD One X / One S: Electronics

Default XO Skins are shipping full bodies and screens already

Sprint HTC EVO LTE 4G Full Body Protector - YouTube

They also posted a review of the Sprint HTC Evo LTE 4G
HTC Evo 4G LTE Unboxing - YouTube

Full body
HTC Evo LTE 4G Full Body Protector [HTC Evo LTE 4G Full Body Protector] - $13.46 : Screen Protector | Screen Protectors | Shield | XO Skins

I have these on my Nexus. They are pretty awesome. I wish their review was more detailed. However it looks like they improved the kickstand on the evo lte for sure. I hated the one on my 1st gen evo

That thing is so cool but just SO expensive! I will miss the ability to just connect the Micro HDMI -> Full HDMI cable from my Evo to my TV. Especially since my main use for it has been at school rather than at home.

I thought the LTEvo had only a micro HDMI port, but that the port is supposed to be HDMI capable? Is this true? If so, does anyone know where to get such a cable? TIA!

It doubles as an MHL/HDMI port...so you can still plug it to a T.v. if you want to! I just prefer wireless!

I asked that question awhile back in this thread:

Does this handset have an HDMI Jack? [Uses an MHL port. Video inside to explain for newcomers]

You can buy a Micro USB to HDMI MHL adapter here:

Amazon.com: Menotek Micro USB to HDMI MHL Adapter IMPROVED WITH RCP (Remote Control Protocol) for Samsung Galaxy S2, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Evo 4G Tablet, HTC Sensation 4G, Sprint Epic 4G Touch, Galaxy Nexus: Electronics

Sadly, I couldn't find any adapter that has a micro HDMI connector so I think you'll be unable to use your micro HDMI -> full HDMI cable (which sucks since I also own such a cable).

not yet. it only supports the "one series" handsets, so no other handsets or tabs at this point.

the Media link can be seen to any other non compatible device as a simple DLNA box but you wont get all of the full features that compatible devices will get.

if you look at the screen shot i posted up above, the 3D sees the Ad hoc network the box broadcasts. its full 1080P and supports a/b/g/n 802.11 2 and 5 GHZ.

Thank you thank you thank you!

Very cool. I can use any HDMI cable. The only drawback is that it MUST be charging in order to use the adapter. So technically I will need two separate cables to make this work (not a big deal though since I normally try to charge my Evo while using the HDMI out).

Well, after I get my LTEvo I'm still keeping my original Evo as a VOIP home phone with its own number. So I may still have use for the Micro->Full HDMI cable for something... not sure what though. Actually, I take that back, I can't use the cable anymore since I changed over to MikiG ROM. The kernel doesn't support full HDMI mirroring and I am unwilling to change to a different kernel for fear of losing my 48hr battery life!

Can anyone point to any screen protector source that is ready to sell, pre-launch? I remember I was able to order some for my Evo 3D so that it would arrive before I even got my phone. I just need something to put on there to get me through until SGP/Steiniheil or whoever produces something.

I'm the same way I just need something until Steinheil or Clarivue come available. We were looking at XO Skins and Skinomi but he doesn't want anything where you have to spray some wet application and I don't think I like that neither. The Sprint store has them but there's don't cover the whole phone I had one last year. And I am ordering a seidio case there site says estimated ship date 5/18 but I don't remember what there protector was like but I got one from them once. But then I've been using Clarivue now all the time.

I just called HTC and they told me that the One-X protector should work on the EVO 4GLTE that the front is the same on the One-X as the new EVO. Is that true?

You can try those generic/universal ones where you have to cut the proector to fit the screen. That should be fine until SGP releases their screen protector.

I can't say if the protector will work, but I do know for a fact that the glass on the One X and the EVO are most definitely different. The EVO's glass is completely flat, whereas the One X's glass has a gentle curve and wraps around the sides. I would guess that they don't work.

I agree with NeoteriX, the glass definitely looks like the dimensions are different. That said, it's possible that it could work as a "temporary" solution until the official one comes out. For me, I'd just rather hold off until they released the official one. The SGP screenprotectors, while not "expensive," are still more than the ebay ones...So, if I were going to try a temporary screen protector, I'd go with the cheap ebay ones first.

Seidio apparently has a new Ultimate Screen Guard "HD" that reduces fingerprints. Anyone have experience with these?

HERE is one that I ordered from XOSkins.

I used coupon code TAXDAY25 for a discount. I believe the total was around $19.xx shipped.

Edit: Just saw that you don't want one that uses water. Maybe this will help someone else.

Does the new Evo support DNLA? That's one thing I love about my note. Streaming video or pics right to my tv.

I've been staring at this screen on my TV for the past half hour, with the disembodied hand swiping up every five seconds.

...somehow my Evo isn't arriving any faster.

According to the review at HTC Evo 4G LTE Review: Sometimes The Ugly Ones Try The Hardest, the Evo 4G LTE has something called "Media Share -HTC's DLNA implementation".

There's an accessory, the htc media link hd, that is basically a wireless dlna box. Connect with your hdmi cable to your display and wirelessly connect your evo to the box. Must have accessory.

I received my red rubber case last night (ordered from flea bay) ! I lOVE the red and I'm excited that it fits nicely over my Samsung GII from Sprint! That means the holster I carry it in should fit nicely as well. Waiting on the screen protector, alreayd have a SD card. then I'm good to go. . . once I get the EVO 4g LTE! Woo Hoo!

I am going to wait now that Steinheil said they are going to be releasing them soon! But I have never bought from them I have done Clarivue. What is this Ultra Fine one that is 2 bucks more? Which do you usually get the 13.99 regular or 15.99 ultra fine?

The SGP screenprotectors, while not "expensive," are still more than the ebay ones...So, if I were going to try a temporary screen protector, I'd go with the cheap ebay ones first.

My friend ordered me a purple rubber case which I'll use just to hold me till Seidio comes out with the one I want. I need a screen protector still though.

I'll be sticking with whatever is their best oleophobic protector (I think it's the "Ultra" line?).

There is a bunch on ebay for like 5 or 6 bucks. My friend is getting purple for me and black for him. I saw a pink one I liked too but Seidio is my favorite and I get there purple Surface or Active case and will use it all the time once there available. This is just something to hold me over cause she said she is getting them on Thursday from ebay.

When/Where did they say they are going to be releasing them? I haven't seen them say anything regarding the Evo 4G LTE besides NO (via email)
I'm curious to see their statement.

They now have a landing page up. They will be making something for the Evo 4G LTE, who knows which version(s) though.

Paradox had an interesting question further up in this thread ^ :

Maybe you can enlighten us on your Fingerprint Reducing tech. Are these just matte finished like most other anti-fingerprint screen protectors?

These screen guards have a treated layer that make it easy to wipe off fingerprints, thus reducing prints. They do not have a matte finish, which ensures that the optical clarity is maintained.

Hopefully that answers your questions, please let me know if I can answer any others!

Here is a new one...Not sure if I am brave enough to go out on a limb and give these a try.
These are new on the scene, 3M just brought this product to market here in the last month or so. Fingerprint Fading screen protectors?

3M US: Fingerprint Fading Protectors: 3M Specialty Display Products

How can fingerprints just fade? Sounds too good to be true almost. And with nothing to back up their claim I am very wary. Although it is 3M. They have a name associated with innovation and quality. Either way my curiosity is piqued.

(This likely won't be made for our devices so it is probably a moot point to most of you. I'm just interested in the newest/different choices available to the market)

I used to like Boxwave screen protectors but I haven't bought any since my Treo (about 5 yrs ago?), for this new phone I'm not buying any accessories until I actually have the phone in my hot little hands. I still need to feel it and be absolutely positive I can live with the larger sized phone (currently I have the Evo Shift). Once I have it and am sure I'm keeping it (I'm pretty sure - but I've never bought a phone without actually touching & drooling over it in person first) I might try the Steinhill screen protector and the Seidio Surface case.

But what the heck is an "oleophobic" screen protector??

Oleophobic means Oil-Resistant.

The origin is from the greek word oleo meaning oil and from the greek word phobos meaning persistent fear or morbid fear - or, roughly, to have a strong aversion to something. So the protector has a strong aversion to oils.

The Seidio screen protector mentioned above is Oleophobic.
The benefit is that the protector can remain optically clear(not matte) but still resist fingerprints to a degree based on the special coating they put on it. It doesn't really prevent fingerprints, or completely stop them from accumulating, or reduce them. Oleophobic protectors are not fingerprint proof. It more or less makes fingerprints easier to wipe off after they inevitably build up. I've heard mixed results about how well they 'work', so don't fall too hard for marketing words.

The 3M fingerprint fading protectors I mentioned above are probably Oleophobic, but they have got to have something else going on in order to make fingerprints magically disappear...

Well crap I thought on it for a few days then decided I needed it but it looks like my procrastination bit me in the arse and they are sold out at the moment.

The next best deal I can find is from ATT. Does anyone know of a better deal going? I want the full 1080p version I know the old 720 is alot cheaper but if I am going to spend the money I better get the best.

On a side note I think Google should work this ability into Android code and make it available from Google TV set top boxes from all android phones. Probably not backwards compatible but at least for future boxes.

I bought an HTC media link and I'm not aware of there being a 720p versus 1080p version....

I may be mistaken but one is listed as a DG H100 model and its specs are listed at 720p

And there is the DG H200 model and its specs run up to 1080p.

I ordered the Seidio Surface case, holster and Ultimate Screen Guard on Monday. They listed an expected ship date of the 18th (today). My account shows the order is still processing but, a Fedx box was at my front door when I arrive home with all 3 inside. Too bad I don't have the phone yet.

if you get a chance could you post pics of the Surface case...mainly wondering how thick it is and how much bulk it will add to the phone.

This is the best I could do to show how thick it is. I measured it and its looks to be just under 1mm thick.
