How do I set it up? I've been trying to purchase Tapatalk so I can post pics on forums through my phone, but for whatever reason it says it's not supported. "Unfortunately, Google Wallet has not yet been certified in your country or on your device/carrier."

Google wallet has been frozen for our devices until google can address some pretty big issues with people bricking their secure element. You can purchase tapatalk through the play store through the normal methods.

Google wallet just got an update on my end havent tried it yet !?!?! Has anyone else!;


FALSE ALARM FALSE ALARM: update did nothing as far as I can see besides changed the message you receive when you open google wallet it reads" unfortunately google wallet has not yet been certified on your carrier or mobile device" the country aspect of the message has now been removed Will there ever be a fix?

So is anyone else getting upset with the lack of being able to finally use our google wallet? I know I am that's for sure maybe a secret jelly bean update is in store and that will fix all our LTEVO woes :-) :-) nice to hope isn't it :-)

I know there are already some threads on this, but because of the known problem with the LTE google wallet,I figured it may be related. Basically, whenever I try to purchase any app, it tells me the purchase has been declined. It doesn't matter of it is through "bill my sprint account" or through credit card payment, it gets rejected. I researched, and some people recommended clearing the app data and rebooting and all that, but that still didn't do the trick. Any ideas as to what the heck is going on? It keeps asking me to sign in to my google wallet to figure put the problem...

Google Checkout in Play Store became Google Wallet.

Maybe it means you should sign in your Google Account and deposit your credit card info in Google Wallet ?

Google wallet cannot be used on the LTE at the moment. I ve heard that a fix is on the way, and I updated my wallet application just a few hours ago but i still get the "google wallet is not yet available for your device or mobile network" everytime i open the app. Also, when I first got the phone over a month ago and the wallet app was still working, there was no way to anything other than CITI cards.

Can anyone explain to me why wallet isn't working tho? Bc I've had my evo since launch 5/25 it was pre ordered.. And wallet worked perfectly... I'm hearing different things... Is it bc Google wants to fix the secure element issues? Or did sprint back out on Google wallet? I have money on there and I miss my neat feature that had all my friends jealous lol

I also had mine since launch I pre ordered may 7th at 9am, mine arrived may 24th, I had it for 1 1/2 days then I hadto factory reset which then caused the secure element issue we all heard about and the ad on phandroid was published to make people aware of it because it happened to me...then after fighting with sprint, talking to google, and HTC I got a new device and 3-4 days with my new device and wallet just up and quit working and no word on why? When it will be fixed !? Nothing!! And that's only a portion of the issues with this device others that are common are the texting is delayed...etc... Ugh why sprint/google/HTC haven't said a word idk but I'd like to know something for gods sake!!!

Hey yeah I remember when that happened to you I was following your story haha... Yeah it just seems like some people think that wallet never worked for this phone or something.. But it did and it worked flawlessly... The only reason I can think of that it is down bc they are trying to fix the hard reset issue... But geeze an email at the very least would have been nice... I like many others have money on my Google wallet and now I can't even use it

I agree my friend. A lot of people are under the impression it was disabled from the start but that's not the case at all.. my Wallet worked as well but other issues that I couldnt seem to resolve are which lead me to a factory reset which then broke my wallet but mine as well was working and activated but since they did the form factor update it hasent worked just like everyone else.. and the latest update they had done didn't fix anything all i noticed was my message changed slightly..

but I agree an email or something would be nice atleast let us know what the deal is !? Like is it coming back or is it done for good or what? I keep getting e-mails from google wallet but those are advertising google wallet on sprints other LTE phone not ours and we only got a $10 credit that phone was getting $25 which definitely upset me especially after all of this and still no wallet or official word on what's going on!?!?

Curious, after reading about google wallet on the HTC 4G LTE, I started the app and it says my device is not supported. ???????? Did they disable it while they figure it out?

Well, thanks all Answered my own question by searching and digging around the internet. Seems it is disabled for now at least while google fixes the issues on the 4G LTE.

Okay not quite sure why the link didn't work?(crapple..lol) but basically my other news app just showed that google added a tid bit of info to the google wallet description in the market stating"google wallet will be disabled on the evo 4g until an ota update in July" so hopefully we can finally get in on the wallet action once again soon ....but until then dont get to excited since we already have got the we don't care about you feel from them so far atleast I know I have..

I did the HTC system update, and Google Wallet now appears to be working. I was able to add the prepaid card & got the $10 promo. Now to try it out in a store.

If I use the same g mail address I used to set up google wallet before the factory reset bricked my google wallet last time if I use the same g mail address as I did before that happened does anyone know if that will cause problems with this google wallet!? Different phone same g mail address

Okay so I just called google wallet support the rep was unsure if using the same gmail I had previously used on a device to set up google wallet that ended up bricking the secure element do to a factory reset if that would cause this one to do the same so if anyone out there knows if using the same gmail on a new phone for a new wallet account will cause issues please let me know!! Thanks guys!!

Or I wonder if I link a different e mail address than my normal gmail I used to set up my device if that will cause issues? I may just create a new email and link google wallet to that and keep my phone linked to my normal g mail address..

I tried at Mcdonalds and no such luck my friend with an LTEVO couldnt get it to send or show up...mine did on first try but then it prompted me for my pin..then it showed a sign like it went..but no go then it said ask cashier if payment was recieved or not? First time trying..with an otterbox defender case! So idk if my case messed with it or what and she also has a case on her LTEVO not an otterbox some nock off brand but same thickness and hers didn't even attempt to work at McDonalds

It feels good that with the update I was finally able to set it up, now I get to see it in action.

I almost feel they should give us another $10 to make up for the past month and a half.

Having the same exact issue. I tried to use it at McDonalds and my balance is $10.00 (free $10) and it swiped the first try, then asked for my pin, then it asked me to swipe it again to confirm payment so I did and then it asked me to ask the cashier if the payment was sent? And I tried it at a local convience store who also has paypass and the same exact thing happened.. and by this point I felt stupid and didn't know what to do cause both cashiers looked at me like I'm crazy and the payment must have never went through because they still had that dumb stare on their face and after I left the store my balance still shows $10.00 I want to use it but so far iv had no luck actually using it using it..iv came close as I have described but the $$ sending part has yet to work?

Could it be my defender otterbox? Or the fact that my 3g internet is off at the time of purchase? Il be sending a tap/pay fail report to g.wallet via the app everytime this continues to happen!!!

And the whole part where it says if prompted select credit, iv never been prompted to select debit or credit not on my device or the paypass receiver!? So idk if its me or the cashier is suppose to select credit but they haven't cause their idiots and can't believe I'm trying to pay with my phone or what?

Mine gave me trouble at first but I think it was just a bad connection... It has been fine since.. and im using a defender also.. when it does actually go through the first time it does take a lot longer than usual ive noticed

Okay cause I have yet to get mine to 100% go at all..it starts to, asks for my pin, then says please swipe again to confirm payment, then it says please confirm with cashier the transaction was completed !? Do I Haveto hold my device on the paypass sensor? I just swiped it like I do with my debit card that has a paypass chip inside it but never get it to fully work?!

Yes for the whole transaction the phone has to be held near the pay pass sensor... Hey it could be worse... The first time I tried to use mine I was in a Wawa and there was a decent size line... An old man at the back of the line assumed I was just some young kid playing with my phone instead of paying and cursed me out.. Lol.. I think part of the reason I was having trouble was the cashier had never seen anyone try and use it... But when it did go through I put my pin in... It confirmed the payment and the cash register popped open just as if I swiped my card

Any luck with your wallet? I'm going to use the extra 10 bucks Google was ice enough to give me today! Guess I lucked out! When I set up g wallet the first time I received the 10..I used it and then wallet was on lock down.. Then after the ota I reset wallet and another 10 was in my card haha


P. S. Is anyone else noticing that after the update wallet seems to be wayyy faster and more responsive? It really feels like it works a lot smoother now

Hmm that's weird... As soon as mine was done updating and restarting I went right to google wallet and it was up and running

Now it shows up.....with my original $10...... I turned of my phone.....turned it back on, and it said I had a update that needed to be installed..... then it shut itself off, installed the update, and now it shows up again. :-)
