They usually send them out in waves over a couple weeks. If you really really want the update, it is possible to manually update when someone posts the update file.
It's not a big deal, I just wondered why it wasn't showing up when I manually looked for updates. I'm in no rush, my phone works great as it is now.

EM posted early on in this thread (view the "likes" to see his post or scroll back a few posts--your choice) that if the caches are dirty/clogged, this could give one issues, especially on a huge UPGRADE as this is.
First thing is to do a battery pull simulation reset. hold down the power button for greater than 10 seconds, you will see the lower buttons flicker and a message on the screen asking you to continue to hold the button.
the phone should power down/reset. this is NOT a factory reset so nothing should be lost.
once it boots back up, re-check settings. also if you have FASTBOOT turned ON, turn it OFF and test.
IF you do not like the results from this, a factory reset is recommended. Again, smoke over EM's post to give you ideas and ways to backup.

To add to this I was having major lag after the update and went straight for the Hard Reset and all is well on the speed side. I recommend a Back up program like My Backup Pro because it saves your Home screens. For some reason redoing home screens is my most hated thing about Hard Resets.

No my Handcent and Yahoo open right up and when I text someone as soon as i put in there name it drops down as I start typing. Before it wouldn't do that alot of times and the phone lagged and I had the black screen for a bit. So far it's better for me.

Developer Options
Something strange is happening.
When I plug my device in at work (PC) to charge via the USB, somehow the USB debuggin developer options menu opens and starts.
When at home and attached to my mac, it asks for debugging information. Also now it says I've incorrectly disconnected my device. What is this USB File Sharing
I'm not sure why this is happening?
In the past when I've plugged it in, it's automatically gone in as a disk drive and I just plug or unplug.
I just want to charge or if I chose mount as a disk drive and copy some files.

Hadn't noticed the non-sliding on the wallpaper, bummer. My wallpaper has 3 people in the picture and now I just see the center person regardless of the page.
Well, after several reboots (inlcuding the "battery pull" suggested by MT) everything seems to be hunky dory. Keyboard hasn't gone garbage and the black screen after a phone call isn't happening anymore. Does the cache get overwritten over time? Overall seems faster/snappier. Not real hot on the new keyboard with the number toggle on the left now instead of right (have to stretch with my thumb) and the keys seem smaller/harder to hit. Can this be changed with the stock keyboard somehow? If not I'll get used to it. Have NOT had any text notification issues so far which was my number 1 problem (missing work pages was a huge problem). Hopefully not jinxing myself but at this point pretty darn happy!

Is this how is being worded now? Prior to the update this never happened. In the past there was an option to "mount as disk" or "just charge" and a few other options, however, it never opened or activated any USB development options or Sprint hotspot & tethering.
The proximity sensor is not working on phone calls. I can deal with all the other bugs that have come with this update, but this is unacceptable. I have done a few hard resets, but nothing seems to work. Is anyone else having this problem?

I didn't notice till my guy showed me on his but your screens scroll all the way through. He tried to trick me and goes how many screens do you have to the left and right? I am liking Google Now even though I have had Jelly Bean on my Transformer Prime tablet for a bit now I never really used it. One of my cards popped up today on my phone while at the Hair Dressers telling me how long it was gonna take me to get home. LOL!
I had a couple people in my contacts where it didn't get there names right like a co-worker Juan it would say 1. And my friend Jeanne it wouldn't get but now it does. Google voice is so much better now. I also use Speak to it Assistant which you can speak through your bluetooth headset and it uses Google Voice and it works better now. I was on the expressway last night and I brought up google voice to text and it worked great. Usually while driving it's not so good. But I have no lag and am happy with it so far.

Not quite sure how resetting phone will fix a wallpaper resize issue? I got the people app fixed now all I have is the wallpaper and an icon that will take me straight to my picture gallery with one tap.
So I didn't know anything about any of this until this morning. I just figured I"d check for updates and one came up so I downloaded and installed it. It is JB. Haven't had a chance to really see any difference as far as speed but I HATE HATE HATE HATE the new keyboard now. I used to have arrow keys to move the cursor but now they are gone. I'm PISSED!! That was one of my huge things I loved about this phone vs. all my friend's iPhones. Does anyone know if I can download the old keyboard or if there are other keyboards on the Play store that have the cursor keys?
my sensor was having the same issue as many others. i took my Zagg Shield off and my sensor worked fine. i had to replace my shield with a newer updated shield. it has been working fine ever since. make sure you bring your old shield back and they should replace it for free.
now if i could get my battery life back to what it used be i would be very happy.

Since updating to JB yesterday, I have received several text messages from '8737' and the messages are all the same - strings of mostly alpha numeric code. Anything thoughts what this is about.
I have used GO SMS since I got the phone June 2012 and have the "Disable other message notification" checked.

I've seen this pop up a few times randomly for people and it seems to stop mostly on its own. Try a prl/profile update

Use of another launcher -- Apex or Nova allows for wallpaper sliding.

Are these appearing on the stock app or both stock and 3rd party app?
If only appearing on the stock app, contact sprint.

No JB here yet. I had this happen after a previous update, I blocked the number to make it stop. I remember others reporting the same problem at that time but I don't remember there being any definitive answers as to what caused it to start happening.

I am having mixed feelings about this update. Sometimes the phone flies and is as smooth as butter. Other times it is laggy and just feels slower. And my battery life has been cut in half but I am thinking it is an errant app and perhaps Google Now.
I have the power saver on, BUT this update is a power hog!! No change to the phone or the apps (other than downloading JB and turning power saver on).
Using GSam Battery Monitor, appears that most of the power consumed by Android System and Kernel.
So far, it appears that this update has been a major downgrade for my phone! Hopefully those who monitor and control the situation will be able to rectify the situation!
I got Jellybean this morning. I backed up everything just in case I wanted to do a factory reset. So far, I haven't needed to do a reset. Everything works as smooth as butter. It changed some of the look and feel. I do like the power saver. Swype is much improved. I love the new Swype keybord.
Now if Sprint can get its act together concerning the network, I'd be a very happy camper.

I believe this is related to the non-stock SMS software. I had this issue with Handcent and the solution is to make it your default SMS app. You might try removing GO SMS for a while and seeing if it changes anything. Or poke through the settings and see if there is anything related to the SMS app sending its own ghost SMSes.
I AM having an ongoing issue with handcent reporting to me a count of unread messages that I have previously read, every time I receive a new SMS or sometimes just out of the blue. The only solution I have found so far is to delete the threads from the people mentioned. Don't really like that solution but it's what I've found so far.

mine did it once or twice also when we updated to ICS. did it one time this morning after the JB update. that was the only time.. no more after that.
I notice some post's talking about high Ram usage in JB. This is some thing I did to get things tip top.
1) Clean out cache
2) Clean out Memory
3) Make sure apps are updated (Specially since afterJB upgrade)
4) Some nefarious apps like to run CPU through the roof (Asphalt 7 is prime for this!)
5) limit screen pages and create folders I.E. (games, productivity, Google Apps, Productivity) I found with these 4 folders I can get by with 1 screen (Nice)
I haven't run into any other isssues thus far. I am going on 30+hrs on a full batt. w/o batt saver.
That's kind of how I feel. Although I'm really curious about JB and do want to try it out, my phone works perfectly on ICS (non-rooted) so I'm hesitant to update & possibly introduce problems. Decisions, decisions...
Been pretty pumped about getting JB. I was like you thought wait to try after a few reports. Couldn't do it and my LTEVO has never been faster and batt life has been much better. As other Post said "the water is fine." face lift is saweet!
My proximity sensor went wonky upon updating. Tried clearing caches, etc. Going to try starting fresh.

You know this may not be the case with yours but when I upgraded my battery usage was terrible. I didn't notice that the phone was uploading every photo and video to dropbox after the update. So that is what was actually killing the battery. Of course on yours it probably would have shown Data...might just be something to look into though.

I feel the same way, especially with the new voicemail app. It is now white background, and swiping left to right from voicemail to voicemail, it is really laggy and slow. I like the Google Now, but other than a few minor things, I'm so far unimpressed.
I wish from handcent main menu where you see all your text messages, you could long press a persons text to call them, instead of having to open up the thread and long press on one of their messages. Just a small complaint.
Furthermore, frequently my phone's 'mobile data' will be on, but listed as 'not connected' the only way to reconnect is to reboot my phone. Turning the switch on and off does nothing. This is my second EVO LTE, and they have both had this problem. Overall, while I like Sense and I love the screen, I wish I had gotten the S3... faster updates and fewer problems.
Major update, so it's likely the operating system caches are dirty.
And I just inspected the installer - once again, they've failed to clean those out for you.
Rom updates need clean caches to work right. Without root, you only option is to backup (MyBackup Pro and SMS Backup+, they won't get everything, but they're about the best you can do) - and then do a factory data reset.
If using Wallet, go into the app, menu, and reset it, just to be safe, before doing the factory data reset.
Do NOT erase your /sdcard with that.
Please don't shoot me, I'm just the piano player.
Pardon me if this is a dumb question, but the update is done without wiping everything? I haven't done a new software update to a phone in a couple of years, and obviously this is the first new version on the LTEVO.
If the goal is to clear the cache, should the hard reset be done before or after the update? Or, why not use a cache cleaning app?
That's kind of how I feel. Although I'm really curious about JB and do want to try it out, my phone works perfectly on ICS (non-rooted) so I'm hesitant to update & possibly introduce problems. Decisions, decisions...
Same here. There is no way to revert to ICS if I install JB and don't like it is there? Is there a software package that one can get to reinstall ICS, or would I need to root in order to go to anything other than JB?
The HTC EVO 4G LTE is Sprint's version of the HTC One X. It comes with all the same specs, except for the processor, internal storage and radios (includes LTE). And aesthetics are also significantly different.
